The Ministry of Defence estates department began investigations into the source of radiation at the beach last May.
A membrane was laid along a section of the foreshore to establish if radioactive particles are being washed in from the sea, are buried in the sand or are coming from eroding cliffs.
Radioactive material has been found along the coastline for years and is thought to have come from luminous dials for wartime aircraft.
After years of testing by the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), it was decided that any further work should be undertaken by the government body.
Regular updates on the monitoring and radioactive contamination recovery work being undertaken are given by Defence Estates to the Dalgety Bay Forum.
SEPA welcomed the progress made so far which has reduced the hazard to the public present on the beach.

The two men at the centre of Scotland's largest known child abuse network have been jailed for life.
Neil Strachan, 41, attempted to rape an 18-month-old boy while 38-year-old James Rennie sexually assaulted a three-month-old.
Strachan was sentenced to a minimum of 16 years in prison, while Rennie was ordered to serve at least 13 years.
Six other men had already been sentenced for their involvement in the network.
Strachan, who is HIV positive, has already served a three-year prison sentence in 1997 for abusing a boy. Rennie was the chief executive of LGBT Youth Scotland, which offers advice to young gay and lesbian people.
Passing sentence on the pair, judge Lord Bannatyne referred to Strachan's abuse of the 18-month-old boy, which was captured in a photograph known as the "Hogmanay image" because it was taken on New Year's Eve in 2005.
The judge told Strachan: "By its very nature, what is shown in that photograph is utterly appalling and would shock to the core any right-minded person who has had to see it.
But we know that in nearly all cases life does not mean life, with good behavior they could be out in a matter of years.
What exactly, as a civil society should we do with paedophiles? can counselling help? or should we lock them up for life, as they say its' 'better to be safe than sorry' or, as some people mention, shall we bring back the death penalty?

Synchronicities are those moments of “meaningful coincidence” when the boundary dissolves between the inner and the outer. At the synchronistic moment, just like a dream, our internal, subjective state appears, as if materialized in, as and through the outside world. Touching the heart of our being, synchronicities are moments in time in which there is a fissure in the fabric of what we have taken for reality and there is a bleed through from a higher dimension outside of time. Synchronicities are expressions of the dreamlike nature of reality, as they are moments in time when the timeless, dreamlike nature of the universe shines forth its radiance and openly reveals itself to us, offering us an open doorway to lucidity.
Synchronicity was one of Jung’s most profound yet least understood discoveries, in part because it cannot be appreciated until we personally step into and experience the synchronistic realm for ourselves. Jung’s discovery of synchronicity was in a sense the parallel in the realm of psychology to Einstein’s discovery of the law of relativity in physics. Because it is so radically discontinuous with our conventional notions of the nature of reality, the experience of synchronicity is so literally mind-blowing that Jung contemplated this phenomenon for over twenty years before he published his thinking about it. Jung’s synchronistic universe was a new world view which embraced linear causality while simultaneously transcending it. A synchronistic universe balances and complements the mechanistic world of linear causality with a realm that is outside of space, time and causality. In a synchronicity, two heterogeneous world-systems, the causal and acausal, interlock and interpenetrate each other for a moment in time, which is both an expression of while creating in the field an aspect of our wholeness to manifest. The synchronistic universe is beginning-less in that we are participating in its creation right now, which is why Jung calls it “an act of creation in time.”Synchronicities are those moments of “meaningful coincidence” when the... more

Some people claim that it is manna from heaven, first sent down by God to feed the children of Israel. Others, more prosaically, say that it is stag semen.
Alternative theories for the origins of “star jelly”, a strange mucous substance found on the Scottish hills in the autumn abound. Could it be the remnants of a meteor shower, regurgitated frogspawn, fungus - or, less romantically, the gel from disposable nappies? Is it evidence of extraterrestrial life, or perhaps the fallout from top-secret attempts by scientists to manipulate the weather?
Whatever the truth of the matter - and no one really knows - the debate about the origins of the jelly has reached fever pitch.
Initiated by the BBC Radio Scotland programme Out of Doors, which has recorded half a million hits on its website, there is now international interest in solving one of the most enduring of natural mysteries. Hundreds of theories have come in from around the world, and a film crew from National Geographic has arrived in Scotland to record the evidence.
People have reported finding star jelly all over the UK, in fields, in urban back gardens and in the mountains. There are also accounts of it in Australia and America.
But the most plausible theory is that the star jelly is nothing more than regurgitated frog and toad ovaries, from vultures! Some people claim that it is manna from heaven, first sent down by God to feed the... more

Bought by two of his devotees from Glasgow for £2m, the tiny North Ayrshire island of Little Cumbrae is being converted into an international yoga camp after a blessing from India's most popular lifestyle guru Baba Ramdev, also known as Swami Ji.
After comparing the west coast island to the Himalayas and the banks of the Ganges, Baba Ramdev led a procession accompanied by bagpipes across the island, trying not to trip over the fans who jostled to touch his feet.
In a traditional Hindu Hawan blessing the swami, surrounded by bright petals and grains, chanted and poured ghee onto an indoor fire watched on by his followers from around the world.
With that Baba Ramdev officially started the transformation of the previously uninhabited 700 acres of rocky land into Peace Island.Bought by two of his devotees from Glasgow for £2m, the tiny North Ayrshire... more
