Jorge Carreon blogs on how The Disloyal Subjects of the Mad Hatter have regrouped to tantalize its fans by unveiling the second of three new images from Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland." In this triptych, the film's star Mia Wasikowska appears as a 19-year-old Alice returning to Wonderland, offering just a hint of a surprising adventure.
Jorge Carreon blogs on how The Weinstein Company has pacted with Disney and ABC to give its movie musical "Nine" the kind of media exposure reserved for big summer tentpole features. First up, a big number on the Nov. 17 episode of "Dancing with the Stars."

"For decades, the Walt Disney Company has largely kept Mickey Mouse frozen under glass, fearful that even the tiniest tinkering might tarnish the brand and upend his $5 billion or so in annual merchandise sales. Mickey Mouse Clubhousemickey mouse clubhouse show 300x225 The Adult’s Guide to Preschool TV: Disney Channel
IN A SENTENCE: The old-school Disney all-stars have fun and practice a little voodoo along the way.
Feeling the need to put something “Disney” into their preschool lineup so that they’ll recognize who the hell the duck with no pants is when their parents bring them to Orlando, all the main characters are put together in this one (Mickey/Minnie/Goofy/Donald/Daisy/Pluto) and have simple adventures, running across other lesser Disney characters (including frequent nemesis Pete, who can barely be qualified as a “bad guy” here). Mickey encourages the kids to chant some gibberish to get the playhouse to magically appear. When it does, it looks like what Mickey would look like if shot out of a cannon straight into the ground. From five feet away. Hard.
THE GOOD: It’s harmless. No one’s really “mean” – Pete’s biggest flaw is that he wants to get paid at places like the boat rental, and anyone who has seen Donald outside of this show can see he’s obviously highly medicated and sedated on MMC.
THE BAD: Believability. OK, I know it’s a kids show and a cartoon no less, but each episode finds you getting four “Mouse-ka-tools” which are seemingly completely random, with the fourth being a “mystery tool.” Yet somehow those four tools fix the problem PERFECTLY, including the mystery tool. The mystery tool is always perfect for the situation. I eagerly await the episode where the mystery tool screws them over. “Goofy’s in a pit and can’t get out? Well, let’s see what our mystery tool is. A feather? Well, here you go Goof – tickle yourself while you wait to die.”
FOR THE ADULTS: See the more obscure characters and remember just how old you are. Maybe Donald’s nephews show up one time. Remember Ducktales? Whoo-oo! That-show-was-on-twenty-two-years-ago. Duck-tales. Whoo-oo!
BE PREPARED FOR: Someone to think they’re incredibly witty or profound when they make the observation that Goofy and Pluto are both dogs yet Goofy gets treated like a person.Yeah, because a mouse having a dog for a pet was realistic to begin with. I hear people drive on parkways and park in driveways too.

If the rumors are true, Apple has pitched a subscription based television service to networks that will not use any hardware, but instead use the preexisting iTunes software.

"In late 1998, I was commissioned to compile and produce the soundtrack for a sequel to the film “Tron”. A draft of the story had already been written and early filming had begun (as reported by ZDNet on July 27, 1999). As I understand it, the film was kept in great confidence with the producers as Pixar was still in negotiations with Disney about the responsibilities of the production teams.
“Rise Of The Virals” was a fantastic, but much darker storyline from the original — different from the “Into The Machine” pitch made to Disney by another party. It involved updating the ENCOM universe to a networked system (thanks to the Internet), but also created a darker world — full of programs abandoned as buggy systems (or “mutants”) and abused by corrupt users as viral systems. Furthermore, the story included the death of Flynn and presented questions about the digital life of programs lasting beyond the mortality of their creators — the users.
My task was to compile great underground artists to create a new soundtrack for this darker world of Tron. After the completion of the initial tracklist and first production draft of the soundtrack, it seemed as if negotiations between Pixar and Disney had broken down. Funding for the project was eventually pulled."Click the link above for the free soundtrack - below the story behind it:

"What is it in France they say? 'America contributed three things to culture: jazz, musical comedy and comic books.'" You can already buy two on iTunes. And if things pan out, you'll be get the third on the Apple tablet.
It's an easy presumption for comic book fans. The Sun Times' Andy Inhatko is betting that LongBox, a digital distribution platform for comic books, will make an appearance on Apple's upcoming tablet. More than just an appearance, really:
I'm pretty sure that Apple is entering into a formal alliance with LongBox. When I asked [LongBox CEO Rantz] Hoseley about what kind of partnerships the company is forming, he spoke vaguely of what was taking up most of his time at the moment: a lengthy and complicated agreement with a seriously large company operating in the media space.
One problem: Several sources I spoke to over the last couple of weeks, including top-level executives at giants like Marvel and DC, have said they've not heard a whisper from Apple—despite a nearly desperate hope that Apple would come a-courtin'. One executive said to me, when I mentioned the possibility of putting his comic books on the Apple tablet, "If you've heard anything from Apple, please tell them I'm ready to do it.""What is it in France they say?
