French youth across the country are rebelling against various new school dress codes that ban low-slung trousers, short garments and piercings, and even holes in trousers and garments above the knee.
At Lycee Geoffroy-Saint-Hilaire in Essonne, south of Paris, 300 of the 2,100 students came to school wearing short shorts or mini-skirts. And at Lycee Condorcet d'Arcachon in Gironde, 200 students protested in the streets. One student said, "We're at school, we don't want to feel like we are in aprison," according to the Independent UK.
Lycee Saint-Jean-Hulst in Versailles, has taken a different approach in dealing with sartorial rebels. Girls wearing short skirts are given overalls to change into, and boys sporting saggy pants are lent a pair of suspenders.

French don't like anymore Sarkozy policy (today the consensus of the Head of state, in France, is at its historic low level). So it was born a website and various groups on Facebook that, affected by the success of the No-B day, want to organize the No-Sarkozy Day.

Specsray shows what can happen when a consultant evaluates a new mobile telephone technology in Oxford.
The Specsray application scans nearby phones, and alerts the users if they match each other's needs according to the internet sites they use (dating, renting, selling, etc...).
This lonesome Specsray client might meet his match in an unexpected way.
Ivan Baas-Thomas and Vince Brown have collaborated through Octave Studios to create their first short film.
Specsray est une technologie qui assortit les utilisateurs de téléphones portables en fonction des critères qu’ils partagent sur divers sites internet, et qui alerte ces utilisateurs s’ils se trouvent à proximité les uns des autres.

One of my longest running lists as of late was my “want to see” list, which consisted of genre titles like Paranormal Activity, Trick ‘r Treat, The Hills Run Red, Laid to Rest and so forth and so on. As of Halloween night the sole remaining title on that list was Fear(s) of the Dark, a French anthology of black & white animated shorts. Now, less than twenty four hours removed, I can say that while it was definitely worth the wait for this dude, it’s probably not for everyone.

Cult Busters
How governments decide whether a religion is real or not.
A French court fined the Church of Scientology $888,000 on Tuesday after a couple claimed they'd been manipulated into buying between $30,000 and $73,000 worth of church products. The verdict is "a historical turning point for the fight against cult abuses," said the leader of France's "government cult-fighting unit." How does this special cult-busting unit distinguish between cults and bona fide religions?
Vaguely. French law doesn't define the term "cult." Rather, it uses the expression "cultlike movements" to describe groups that demand unreasonable financial contributions, encourage nonparticipation in elections, promote anti-social behavior, or cut members off from their families. It's easier to target bad behavior, the thinking goes, than to get into a semantic debate over what is and isn't a cult. The French government has, however, tried to define the term in the past. In 1995, a special parliamentary commission compiled a list of 10 cultish characteristics, including the indoctrination of children, a mentally unstable membership, and the attempt to infiltrate public institutions. The commission also released a list of 173 groups that qualify as cults—that is, they meet at least one of the 10 criteria—including the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Church of Scientology. (At least one group—the followers of Anthrosophy—sued the report's main author for defamation and won.)

Arguably one of the most EPIC FAIL! moment that ever happened in recent times, was when Somali Pirates attempted to attack French Navy's 18,000 tonne flagship, in the Indian Ocean, after they mistakenly thought that it was a cargo ship.
The pirated did realize their stupid mistake and fled the scene, but were pursued by the French Navy and apprehended.
Also the pirates are waiting to have their EPIC FAIL! moment be made even more public through FAILBLOG!

The United States could see a new transportation system set in place, after French railroad operator SNCF proposed building a high-speed rail network to run across states.
SNCF -- who have been recognised for establishing the 357mph TGV railway system in France -- aim to introduce 600ft-long trains, designed to transport between 500-550 passengers. These trains will run at a speed of 220mph.
The project is expected to cost $140bn and is likely to have the first stage of the system complete by 2018. SNCF believe that up to 150% of the production costs will be recovered within 15 years of the railway system, due to the potentially reduced number of car and airplane travel journeys.
It is expected that the majority of the train routes will be able to transport passengers to their locations, quicker than when travelling with an airline. The United States could see a new transportation system set in place, after French... more

A French teenager who was enjoying a deep sleep between rail tracks escaped injury when a high-speed TGV train passed over him.
The train was unable to stop, after the teen was spotted by the driver, until the train had passed over the sleeping Frenchman. Once he regains consciousness officials hope to uncover the whole story.

“Hark! It is September. Does this mean the leaves are starting to change and it's going to get chilly? Where did Summer go? I still have white, strapless dresses that have tags still attached and sandals that don't even have scuff marks on their bottoms. Well, thank goodness I live in Los Angeles, but for most of the world this means the changing of the closet! Unwrapping those cashmere sweaters, buying new wooden cedar hanger inserts, and starting to say good-bye to the romper trend. (For some of you that's a "thank-god." Though, owning a cute silk butterscotch Marc Jacobs one myself, I loved it!). So, to debut our Fall look I decided on the lovely Celine which is oh so French, and oh so divine, that you can't help but look sophisticated in its luxurious fabrics and its "I didn't try too hard" look. I know when the seasons start to change I wanna be cozy. I hate being unprepared for the weather outside and being itchy with bad wool or sweaty by being swamped by too much fabric. I like light layers that keep me warm. The Fall is great for layering lightly while experimenting with fabrics that will mesh with your lifestyle.
The outfit I've chosen………………..
