With Black Friday now less than a week away I am writing an article each day leading up to Friday which lists a different stores Black Friday ad as it relates to video games. Today we continue with Gamestop's lesser known (but better priced) rival Game Crazy.

The sales numbers for the first five days of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 have been released by Activision. According to the publisher, the hit first person shooter is the largest opening for any form of entertainment and made $550 million, beating the worldwide release of Harry Potter And the Half-Blood Prince, which made $394 million.
As more people buy or receive a video game console for the holidays, it is important to recognize that the majority of these consumers are most likely using an Xbox 360 for the first time. One question that may go through their minds as their fire up their console and start to look through the dashboard is why their hard drive does not have the specified amount of space that it should even though it is brand new out of the box?
Looks like as if the early reports of Russian censorship were incorrect. According to Eurogamer, Activision has gone on record today in stating that there wasn’t any sort of ban on the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 versions of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Russia.
Why? Because apparently they didn’t even release the console versions there.

Valve inspires its fans to do crazy things. Take Eric Ruth, who's made it his personal mission to recreate Left 4 Dead from scratch in the context of a top-down, 8-bit action game. So far, Ruth has finished the first campaign of the original Left 4 Dead, the hospital-based No Mercy, but he's aiming to release a completed product, spanning all four campaigns and including all of the special infected, around January 4. He's pretty much building the whole project by himself.
"Valve doesn't know about it yet," wrote Ruth on his YouTube page, "but I'm sure (with their love of community creations) that they will find this mildly amusing at worst, and hilarious at best."

Indie games, also called community games, are an often overlooked and underrated option on the Xbox Live Marketplace. An Indie game is a game that was independently created by a regular guy just like you or me instead of a big game studio.
The Big M swung the banhammer fast and hard earlier this week, leaving as many as 1 million modded consoles without Xbox Live access, reports Information Week.
It should be noted that this action comes on the heels of the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, whose multiplayer functionality is expected to strain the online service substantially. The move may have been accelerated by the troubling number of pirated copies floating around the internet prior to its official launch on the 10th.
