This is for the first time the Academy Award Winning Director/Producer Steven Spielberg is making a motion capture movie. Unlike the mega hits of Hollywood, “Polar Express” by Robert Zemeckis and all time blockbuster “Avatar’ by James Cameroon, now its time for Spielberg.

“In A Flash” is an amazing, breathtaking 15-second short film by Stephen Fitzgerald, which was created for the Motion Design tournament of the Cut & Paste Global Championships in New York. The theme for the competition was “Dear Life, Thanks For Everything, Sincerely Me.” Fitzgerald took the theme and imagined it as that defining moment people talk about when their life flashes before their eyes.
This piece presents color photographs, as well as the 15-sec. short film, “In A Flash.”
Please visit my website to view the photographs, and to watch this amazing 15-second short film:

“OneDreamRush: China” is a 42-second short film directed by Maxim Zhestkov and Matt Pyke at Universal Everything. The film is one of the 2009 Beijing Independent Film Festival’s 42 short films, each one being only 42-seconds long and based on the common question, “How do we dream?” “OneDreamRush: China” is a ridiculously obscure and confusing little film, but at the same time it’s intoxicating in a mesmerizing sense.
The film is truly intriguing, taking an average thought or feeling that seems so ordinary to each and every one of us and then soaring out to other dimensions, into the realm of the extraordinary. In the directors’ sense of creativity, they twist, tweak and turn an ordinary, average, everyday emotion (or dream) in totally unanticipated ways. By the time this 42-second short film reaches its unforeseen finale, they’ve managed to turn the obscurely mundane into a larger than life feeling within each of us.
This piece includes unusual photographs, as well as the intriguing 42-second HD short film.“OneDreamRush: China” is a 42-second short film directed by Maxim Zhestkov... more

This is a 30 second spot showcasing the new HP Photosmart Touch Web. I created all of the assets from scratch (not including the music and end-tag). I can provide a lossless version of this video upon request. The music was acquired through the APM Legal Music collection through Current.
I decided to go with an "altered reality" theme by bringing the touch-based user interface into an "in air" dimension. The user selects an app and then I show how the app would potentially work. I decided to utilize very vibrant colors, primarily cyan, magenta, and yellow, to tie into both standard printer colors, and the HP endtag. The 3D model of the printer was modeled based on example photos, and textured using these same photos
I had a lot of fun making this spot and hope that it conveys the product in a very attractive and memorable light.

This is an Ad I created for Current TV's VCAM Ad contest for the Client HP. The concept is that the ink flows seamlessly guide you through a beautiful journey that inevitably leads you to understanding the fluidity and ease of having an all-in-one printer. It borrows the colors of the HP ink streams that come on the endpage which eventually ties it all together. This is an Ad I created for Current TV's VCAM Ad contest for the Client HP. The... more

Here's a semi-rough cut of my demo reel for this year. Let me know what you think. Unfortunately, NDA's don't allow me to upload all my fun and juicy animations, but I'm sure in half a year, I'll finally get permission once the products have cooled down.
The music used is: Electric Six's "Danger! High Voltage."Here's a semi-rough cut of my demo reel for this year. Let me know what you... more

Kinetic typography. What is that? Well if you go by the videos I found on youtube sporting that description then it basically means taking cool quotes from movies and animating the text over them...
Viewer discretion is advised, as these movie quotes are peppered handsomely with colourful language (as all great movie quotes are) and definitely Not Safe For Work. That is, unless you’re like me and have some earphones always handy. If that’s you, then rock on. there's no nudity, because it's all animated in Motion Typography.
**disclaimer, this is a post I put on my own blog a few weeks ago, and although there has been a little buzz around this kind of thing, I've not seen it given the time is deserves. There are a bunch of them on the page I link to, all of which are from famous movies. Add you favs and finds in the comments below!Kinetic typography. What is that?
