A nationwide crackdown on child prostitution rescued eight children in Seattle and one in Everett - more than any other metropolitan area in the United States.
"It's big problem here ... not just in Washington, but the entire country," says Robbie Burroughs of the FBI's Seattle office.
More child prostitutes were found in the Puget Sound region than in Cleveland, which had seven, and New York City, with five. The youngest victim nationwide was just 10 years old. In Seattle, the youngest was 14.
"Anybody who lives in our state or in this country should be concerned that our children are being recruited into this kind of life and being exploited through prostitution," Burroughs says.
The FBI won't comment specifically on the nine children - except to point out that, generally speaking, they're targeted on the Internet and at shopping malls.
The pimps look for young people with low self-esteem or possible drug abuse -- and that's when they move in and seize the opportunity.
Eileen Corcoran, a former child prostitute who has now cleaned up her life, told KOMO News that many of the girls are lured into that kind of life with no idea how it will all end up.
"These girls are pushed out there on a daily basis with no idea the first time going out there, what they're venturing into," she says. "The life I got to was behind heroin, and I never thought I would do the things I did to chase my drug."
She got clean 10 years ago with the help of counseling, and turned her life around. Now she rescues other child prostitutes. She started a nonprofit organization called RISE, for Rising Above Sexual Exploitation.
She says many of the girls want fast money.
"They want to have the nice clothes and find new friends and they want to feel like they're a part of something,' she says. "But what they don't know is that they're going to become a part of something that is very very dangerous."
Officials say Washington is considered a source state, meaning there have been juvenile prostitutes that have been found in other areas in California and Arizona.
As part of the operation, Seattle and Everett police arrested and charged four pimps and 23 adult prostitutes.
The children themselves are getting help. Some of the girls will be put back into stable family situations. Others, who don't have that support, will be helped by state agencies.A nationwide crackdown on child prostitution rescued eight children in Seattle and one... more

Four years ago, Steven Levitt, University of Chicago economist, and Stephen Dubner, a New York Magazine writer, got together to write what they thought would be a small, interesting book that would come, inform and charm a few people, then go out of circulation. But "Freakonomics" not only stayed on top of the bestseller list for two years but changed the way many people thought about the world - how to see and solve problems.
(Simon, S., 2009, October 2009, par.1-2)
The authors have now made use of their widening prominence to learn and consider a whole new slew of issues in a way that may fundamentally upset conventional thinking, and that's the point of what they do.

She doesn't want to be identified, except by her nickname "Sze," and she has a secret past. Her father doesn't know what she did as a 16-year-old, and she hopes he never finds out. But Sze, now 19, wants young girls to hear her story so they never make the same mistake.
Most girls who engage in compensated dating don't view themselves as prostitutes, a social worker says.
"My first customer was an ordinary man in his 40s. We skipped the dinner part and went straight to the guest house for sex," Sze recalled. "Actually, I was a bit scared, but I knew this was the only way I could get money. This customer wasn't bad, though. We just had sex, he paid, and then he left. I thought this was easy money, and that's why I continued doing this kind of thing."

Two people charged with operating an interstate prostitution ring that drew clients to hotel rooms supposedly being used by a bogus airline have pleaded guilty.
Marianna Sedlak, 40, and Kelli Kaylor, 23, both pleaded guilty to transporting and causing the transportation in interstate commerce with the intent that the individual engage in prostitution, persuading and enticing an individual to engage in interstate travel for the purpose of prostitution, and conspiracy.
They face up to 35 years in prison and $750,000 in fines.
The women who applied were required to have sex with Roger Sedlak, who rated their performance and determined their willingness to work as prostitutes and engage in various sex acts, prosecutors said.
Sedlak then masqueraded as an executive of a non-existent airline, CQ Air, and rented rooms under the guise of airline business when the rooms were actually being used as meeting points for the prostitutes and the clients, according to prosecutors.
The Sedlaks and Kaylor, of Illinois, scheduled the trysts at hotels near Harrisburg and unidentified locations in other states, prosecutors said. Clients gave the Sedlaks personal information online that allowed them to see the women who were available.
Prosecutors said Kaylor became involved in the operation in January, first as a ''scheduler,'' then as a prostitute. Two people charged with operating an interstate prostitution ring that drew clients to... more
If she could do it herself, Terri-Jean Bedford would strike down Canada's prostitution laws, perhaps using the riding crop she plans to bring to court.
Instead, the Toronto dominatrix and two other sex workers have launched a sweeping constitutional challenge to the legislation, arguing it perpetuates violence against women.
The 49-year-old Toronto grandmother, along with prostitutes Valerie Scott, 51, and Amy Lebovitch, 30, is asking Ontario's Superior Court of Justice to invalidate Criminal Code provisions that serve as Canada's policy response to the world's oldest profession.
They argue that prohibitions on keeping a common bawdy house, communicating for the purposes of prostitution and living on the avails of the trade force them from the safety of their homes to the insecurity of the street, where they are exposed to physical and psychological violence.
But the women are battling a fortress of opposition from the federal government, as well as religious and conservative groups intervening in the case.If she could do it herself, Terri-Jean Bedford would strike down Canada's prostitution... more

Mike Comberger is a narc that is allowed to run an escort/prostitution agency, do drugs, whatever he likes. Yes, she is trying to get us to book an illegal escort/prostitute. We tell her that we don't do escorts and we don't do prostitution. Yet, she calls again and then has a friend call to get a stripper for six girls. We then send a guy, it's just her, and she proceeds for an hour and a half to seduce and try her best to set him up. It doesn't work but they arrest him anyway, alter the audio so it can't be heard, and lie on the stand to set him up. Then, they come after me. I fix the audio and do some surveillance of my own and prove they are trying to set me up because I know they murdered Deborah Wardlaw. The case is dropped but not after costing me everything I own. This is a good example of how we talk and book entertainment for American Dream Talent. It makes no sense that we would act this way and book this type of entertainment and yet the police claim we never have done this in court. Well, yes it does. They know what we do but tried to set us up and even altered evidence and lied on the witness stand to try to make it stick. All of this because cops approached me about paying them for having strippers. I told them they must think we are escorts, we're not, we're telegrams, bachelor parties, clowns, d'jays, etc. Well, now that I had the knowledge I either payed or got harassed. I'm stubborn and this began years of harassment, phone taps, surveillance, and false arrests. This is a good example of how we talk and book entertainment for American Dream... more

This is a typical ad or promotion for the company. It's very easy to tell what kind of company we are by the advertisement. An escort/prostitution agency wouldn't bother to spend the money or run this ad as a 'cover'. That is what Lexington police seemed to be claiming when they tried to set us up and take us to court as an illegal escort agency. They used their new ordinance and had no chance at winning even with altered evidence and proven lies from the police on the stand. None of the many legitimate escort/prostitution companies have ever been charged using this ordinance. If we are an escort agency then why would we run off customers like this? We are not an escort agency. As a matter of fact, we have been fighting to get the escort agencies shut down for years. We have risked danger from the agencies, corrupt police officers, corrupt county officials and mob interests involved in these agencies. However, my talent agency was charged and criminally attempted to be set up by local police from three counties because of my stance against these agencies. Worshipers are being banned from their own temple as Julia Roberts shoots her new film in it.
It isn't the most shocking event, but definitely concerning at the level of disrespect that Julia Roberts and the film makers have for their "set". When gods clash there is usually thunder, how arrogant and in love with yourself do you really have to be, to bar worshipers from their own temple in the pursuit of making a feature length film.
