Over two thousand questions asked in the various presidential debates, and only three on global warming, the defining issue of this generation. What are they waiting for? You can ask the mass corporate media that by signing the petition and telling them to focus on the human race not the horse race. Unbelievable.Over two thousand questions asked in the various presidential debates, and only three... more

A Nevada judge said Monday that Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich must be included in Tuesday's candidates' debate in Nevada.
Senior Clark County District Court Judge Charles Thompson said if Kucinich is excluded, he'll issue an injunction stopping the televised debate.
The judge sided with a lawyer for the Ohio congressman, who says debate host MSNBC at first invited Kucinich to take part and then told him last week he couldn't.
A lawyer for the network said MSNBC decided to go with the top three candidates after the Iowa and New Hampshire primaries.
The judge called it a matter of fairness and said Nevada voters will benefit if they hear from more than just Hillary Rodham Clinton, Barack Obama and John Edwards. A Nevada judge said Monday that Democratic presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich... more

BILL MOYERS: What rationale did ABC give you for not including you in Saturday night's debate?
DENNIS KUCINICH: Whatever their criteria was, they have no right to make the decision for the people of New Hampshire prior to the election being held. They have no right. As licensees, you know, the airwaves belong to the public, lest we forget. They don't belong to ABC. Disney, which owns ABC, has had executives contributing to some of the candidates in this race. It's a very serious matter here.
BILL MOYERS: But the editors of ABC say that, well, at some point, you know, as I do with this broadcast, they have to start making choices. And they have to start applying certain possibilities to the candidates.
DENNIS KUCINICH: Well, you know what, Bill? How can you have a debate if you don't have a voice that challenges all the others? Right now every other Democrat on that stage will be for keeping our troops in Iraq through at least 2013. Everyone else on the stage will be there for the continuation of NAFTA and the WTO. I mean, my position on the American political scene is to show people that there's a whole different direction that America can take here at home and in the world. And the Democratic Party in narrowing the choices and in the media, in trying to block the point of view that I represent, is really doing a disservice to the American people.BILL MOYERS: What rationale did ABC give you for not including you in Saturday... more

Hi America, it's me Citizen Kate,
Dateline: Des Moines
I learned how hard it is to be an outsider trying to cover inside politics, especially when you run into the control nuts at NPR. I never ever had an experience like the one I had with cool outsider candidate Senator MIke Gravel.
I'm on a quest to find out about America's next great leader. I always say if you don't know, don't vote. So I've been interviewing the presidential candidates. Do I know anything about politics? No. Am I a reporter? Not really. Has that ever stopped me? Heck no! I'm "the people" and we deserve a voice.
Note to self: politics is a tough nut to crack!
Peace and Hugs

We spent a crazy day with people's presidential candidate Mike Gravel. It was one of the most eye-opening experiences of my life. Apparently National "public" Radio isn't really about the public being able to spend a day with a candidate and find out what makes them tick. It's about keeping independent reporters out, even if they've got credentials!

OK, here's the premise: CNN uses RubeTube contributors as "shills" for its own ends. The "democratization" of the "debate" process is bullshit. What do you think?
The UTube vids, the questions asked, are not the problem. It's the "selection" process done by the "experts" at CNN that's at the root of the problem. Their criteria for selection are not concrete, nor are they public. And, far worse, the political "debates" aren't really debates, nor are they analyzed by the media pundits (who started using that word?) with any sense of perspective that matters to citizens. Where are the fundamental ethical, long-term issues that truly matter?OK, here's the premise: CNN uses RubeTube contributors as "shills" for... more

""Every single question asked during the debate by the audience had to be approved by CNN...I was asked to submit questions including "lighthearted/fun" questions. I submitted more than five questions on issues important to me. I did a policy memo on Yucca Mountain a year ago and was the finalist for the Truman Scholarship. For sure, I thought I would get to ask the Yucca question that was APPROVED by CNN days in advance. CNN ran out of time and used me to "close" the debate with the pearls/diamonds question."""Every single question asked during the debate by the audience had to be... more

Yup, another, this one was in Las Vegas. Hillary took the heat from fellow candidates who were saying she is inconsistent - saying she'll end the war in Iraq and saying troops will have to stay in country for a long while. Hillary says she's not inconsistent.
Who besides me is sick of he said, she said and wants to hear more of what each candidate plans to do, rather than hear what each candidate thinks of the other candidates and their plans??Yup, another, this one was in Las Vegas. Hillary took the heat from fellow candidates... more

The headline on this video says that Senator Fred Thompson looked "Shaky," during his first GOP debate, but I thought he looked silly. His tie was too tight and his head looked too big and his answers seemed contrived and weird. Who knows maybe this type of swaggering from the actor will appeal to the Republican base, but if Thompson wants to compete maybe he should stick with pithy ironic YouTube videos to conduct his campaign. The headline on this video says that Senator Fred Thompson looked "Shaky,"... more
