This is a short 10 minute documentary I made from footage at the rallies and marches in the streets of Hempstead, Long Island and at Hofstra University on Wednesday, October 15th 2008 during the final Presidential debates. It includes an earlier march and rally with the Iraq Vets Against the War (IVAW), some of whom are seen being arrested later in the film. A response from another Iraq veteran about how service and sacrifice should not be used to muzzle criticism of the war. It's patriotic to make sure we're properly employing our troops.
While service and sacrifice may lend more credence to an opinion, they don't give anyone the right to dictate opinions for others. Nor do service or sacrifice either validate the decisions of our leaders or limit our options through inertia.

Some are calling it a Freudian slip. Everyone’s calling it a big mistake.
Hundreds of absentee ballots sent to voters in New York State’s Rensselaer County, near Albany, were printed with Barack Obama’s last name spelled as “Osama," the Albany Times Union reports.
County elections officials tell the newspaper that it was a typo that made it by three rounds of proof-readers. They also said the error affected just a few hundred voters, and that they will re-send corrected ballots on request.Some are calling it a Freudian slip. Everyone’s calling it a big mistake.... more

Nader/Gonzalez supports the opening up of the Presidential debates.
Right now, they are limited to the candidates from the two corporate parties.
The debates are controlled by the so-called Commission on Presidential Debates, a private corporation which was created by the Democratic and Republican Parties in 1987.
The Commission is headed by Frank Fahrenkopf -- the former head of the Republican National Committee, and Paul Kirk -- the former head of Democratic National Committee.
Fahrenkopf is a lobbyist for gambling interests, Kirk for pharmaceutical companies.
Debate sponsors have included Anheuser-Busch, Phillip Morris, Ford Motor Co., Yahoo Inc., 3Com, among other companies who gave soft money to the two parties’ national committees.
When Abraham Lincoln ran for office, the two major parties were the Whigs and the Democrats.

My memory is a little weak however I do recall history from not so long ago.
The day was 9-11, you all remember that day, if you don't let me refresh your memory.
On that day President Bush ordered all airplanes in the United States air space to land immediately or be shot down.
We later came to find out that the exception to the rule was the planes that were transporting the family and friends of the most wanted person in the world.
Bin-Ladens family members and friends were the only people out of 350 million Americans allowed to fly the day of the collapse of the twin towers and the murder of thousands of people.
So to call Obama a terrorist because he knows some one that committed crimes against the American Government when he was just 8 years old is a joke.
If Obama is a terrorist then all you Republicans are terrorists. The association of your vote for a President that authorized the escape flights of Bin Ladens family and friends makes you guilty of ab aiding the enemy. If I were the terrorist responsible for such an atrocity I BETCHA my family would still be in prison.

The material being included alongside comics, coupons, and advertisement for local stores is a controversial DVD called “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West.” Some 28 million copies of this DVD have been distributed for free so far in this fashion. In some ways the scale of this campaign, and its ideological venom, are unprecedented: many newspapers state that they had never previously distributed free DVDs as inserts, certainly nothing with such a charged content. The copies were distributed not randomly across the country, but in the “swing states” (Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, Colorado, etc.) that are seen as a toss-up in the November Presidential elections between McCain and Obama. Barack Obama and His Friendship With Terrorist Bill Ayers
While GOP Presidential hopeful John McCain introduced his new running-mate, Gov. Sarah Palin, American Issues Project wrapped up its first phase of a television advertising and issue campaign, which called into question the long-standing relationship between Barack Obama and unrepentant 1960s domestic terrorist, William Ayers.
"American Issues Project clearly has struck a nerve inside the Obama campaign, but even more important is the reaction of the American people, who are starting to question why Sen. Obama would have such a close relationship with an unrepentant domestic terrorist," said Ed Martin, American Issues Project president.
"The heavy-handed response of the Obama campaign definitely misfired. The more the Obama campaign has tried to bully the ad off the air with its spurious legal threats and intimidation, the more voters have wondered what he has to hide," he said.
The made-for-television ad examines the connection between Sen. Obama and domestic terrorist William Ayers, co-founder of the violent, radical Weather Underground movement that "declared war on America" and successfully bombed the U.S. Capitol, Pentagon, a police station in New York and other targets across the nation.
Ayers has not only trumpeted his role in the bombings, he is unrepentant. On September 11th, 2001, the New York Times reported him saying, "I don't regret setting bombs… I feel we didn't do enough."
Not only is Barack Obama's friend and frequent committee member, domestic terrorist Bill Ayers, not sorry for bombing the Capitol and the Pentagon he wishes he could have set more bombs. Apparently blowing-up three people was not enough for Bill Ayers, and it certainly wasn't enough for Barack Obama to sever his ties with the terrorist.
Obama's reaction to those who think the American People should be aware of Obama's associations? Sue them! Sue them all dammit!
Oppressing people by force, it's called "fascism" for those who are not familiar with the definition. That's right, if you dare bring up the facts surrounding the terrorist friendship of Barack Obama and Bill Ayers, like I am doing right now, you are a target for lawsuits from Team Obama. Of course, since I have a middle-class income instead of millions of dollars with which to expose Obama and Ayers, I won't be a target. Remember, you have to money for the Democrats to sue you. So if you want to speak the truth, make sure you aren't too successful in life. Another wonderful message of hope straight from Barack Obama.
These people truly make me sick. It's not the audacity of hope, it's the audacity of Barack Obama thinking he can run the country. The insidious part is that Obama knows the lawsuit won't even go to court, it's nothing more than an attempt to oppress freedom of speech and the facts about his record. Scare the Hell out of the American Issues Project hoping they will go away and cease their exposition of Barack Obama to the American People. Well it looks like those of us who demand the People be made aware of Barack Obama's relationship with terrorist Bill Ayers are not going to give up so easily.
Why don't you just sue everyone Barack? Surely that will fix it.

Blacks all over America are saying, Should I vote for Obama because he's black?? I admit, Obama was number one for me because i am black but my analytical nature urged me to find out more info, thus my interest in all things presidential. I'm not a political whiz and sometimes it shows, however I wanna talk about some things. I can understand Michelle's statement eraly on about how she was proud of this country for the first time. I could understand. America was founded on evil. Have you not studied the American Revolution? How expansion of the land meant dominating over the Natives; the Iroqois and other Indians losing what they worked their life for. Or how about the millions of slaves from Africa or the indentured servants from Europe? Evil, Evil, Evil. And what about Willie Lynch? Racist groups like the KKK. What about how Mexicans were treated? You hear about all these abolitionists and great leaders because of all the DRAMA America injected in her people so strongly founded on inequality. So through all of that and more, we nominate a BLACK MAN for president? Kudos.
Despite America's evils, we have affirmative action and penalties for racism. No obviously segregated toilets or anything else nationally disturbing..except the war. So, Kudos, America. But what i like best is the idea that everyone can vote if they are a legal resident or citizen, including minorities. So, why should we vote for obama? Simply because he can move millions. A true leader at heart is what we need and you dont see McCain touching the hearts of the youth. Only people who are really wealthy or simply faithful to their party. If McCain can't move us as a country to be in accord, how can we possibly think that he can persuade others to stop bombing other countries or building nukes?
To get to the point, I will say what everyone is thinking: 1) 4 more years of Bush is soooo not cool and very unpopular. 2) Who is Palin? A hockey mom who's threat to mankind because she thinks what goes on in Alaska is what goes on in the whole country. WRONG PALIN! And lastly, if politicians are all evil, then pick the lesser of the two. McCain may put more money in your pockets (if you're wealthy) and who wouldn't want that??!?!? I sure as hell do! But consider this: Should his old ass die soon...do you really want the Palinator for president and have her "pallin' around" with our country?!?!?!?!?? HELL NO! She can't even debate properly. The only thing she can do is follow directions and bullshit. If you want her, vote mccain, by all means.
But consider this:
We are in a recession, Wall Street is freakin out, we fear another stock market crash, people can't pay for their homes, and for those living payucheck to pay check, REALIZE THAT YOU ARE WORKING A WHOLE DAY JUST TO PAY FOR 1 FULL TANK OF GAS!!!! So, no matter who we pick for president, they have a lot on their plate and have to clean up Bush's poo. That's a lot of poo to try to clean up within the next decade so, vote Obama. Whether it's cuz he's black, or because he's nice or because he kissed your baby at a "Change We Need Rally", he is what old political faeries call 'a lesser of two evils'. VOTE OBAMA and get him on office so that he can take a serious crack at changing this country. Sorry McCAin, but you're not the one. We don't want Viagra side affects getting in the way of our troubled country's well being. Blacks all over America are saying, Should I vote for Obama because he's black??... more
