So I compiled a simple hit list of how Green Scout Report will be making this Halloween simple, green and spooky.Halloween is my absolute favorite holiday of the year! I love crazy food gadgets and this one is one of the best I've seen in a while:
"The Electrolux Cocoon is a concept cooker from Swedish design student Rickard Hederstierna that automatically senses what food had been placed inside, then uses RFID signals to heat up muscle cells. The result? Your dinner will rise up, ready to eat!
Hederstierna, who wins €5,000 (£4,600) and an internship for his efforts, goes so far as to claim the Electrolux Cocoon helps the environment by removing the need for intensive farming. We’re not sure about that, but at any rate, the Electrolux Cocoon is a lot less feasible than last year’s winner, the modular fridge, so don’t expect to see it being used in your local Wetherspoon just yet. My love for kitchen gadgets grows, and as it has i've stumbled across this beautiful collection of pizza cutters. I know its not the most exciting off a things but these are works of art:
"My work investigates one of a kind objects and their role in a world based on mechanical reproduction. Industry has removed the aura from objects and stripped them of their individuality.
My pizza cutters seek to demolish the sterile conformity of mass produced objects and represent the stylistic and flamboyant embellishment of groups who live on the fringe of popular culture. The outlaw biker image is a break from the conformity that has taken over America since industrialization.
My machined pizza cutters draw inspiration from chopper motorcycles and attempt to reclaim the mythology and economic usefulness of the American worker as patriarch; translating machine or functional object into flesh and blood. The outlaw as defiant nonconformist, as well as social outcast, parallels being an artist who makes functional objects and being an individual who takes pride in the power of invention and skill."My love for kitchen gadgets grows, and as it has i've stumbled across this beautiful... more
