Steven Wiltshire (born in 1974) is an accomplished architectural artist who has been diagnosed with an autistic spectrum disorder. Wiltshire’s work has been the subject of many television documentaries; neurologist Oliver Sacks praised his artistic work in the chapter “Prodigies” in his book “An Anthropologist on Mars.” Stephen Wiltshire’s many published art books include “Cities” (1989), “Floating Cities” (1991) and “Stephen Wiltshire’s American Dream” (1993).
Wiltshire is presently working to complete his last drawing in a series of city panoramas, this time of his spiritual home, New York City. Wiltshire’s collection of already completed works depicting some of the world’s most iconic cities already includes London, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Rome, Madrid, Frankfurt, Dubai and Jerusalem. A 20-minute fly-over Manhattan this past weekend provided the memory for a 20-foot panorama of the city that he’s drawing throughout this week at Brooklyn’s Pratt Institute. Viewers can watch his progress on a live web cam or by visiting the Institute while he works from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Monday, Oct. 26 to Friday, Oct. 30, 2009.

But I want to know why I never hear this concept brought up when people talk about the many possible sources of safe, renewable, and envriornmently friendly energy?
The video does not say when the Tower was built though I suspect it has been there for about a decade.
You hear how Solar Panels can only work during the day and that Wind Mills can only work when it's windy.
So why don't you hear about a renewable energy technology that can work a day long? The video explains it.

Today was published the 2009 press freedom index by Reporters without Borders. And Italy has fallen from 44th to 49th place, the worst country in Western Europe and in conditions worse than many states of Eastern Europe, Africa and South America. The reason is obviously the control of a large part of the media by the Prime Minister in office and his continued attempts to intimidate and censor those he doesn't control.Today was published the 2009 press freedom index by Reporters without Borders. MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- Police arrested the suspected chief of the Basque separatist group ETA's political apparatus Monday in France, along with another suspect, CNN partner station CNN+ reported, citing anti-terrorism sources.
The main suspect, Aitor Elizaran Aguilar, 30, allegedly ran ETA's policy-making branch; the other part of ETA is the military wing, which carries out the attacks blamed for more than 800 deaths in ETA's long fight for Basque independence.
The Spanish Interior Ministry confirmed the arrest of 2 ETA suspects in France on Monday but did not immediately identify them.
It would be the fifth time since May 2008 that police have arrested ETA's suspected top military or political leader. Officials have told CNN that after one leader is arrested, another ETA member quickly takes the position, but the substitutes, in succession, have also been arrested, along with dozens of ETA militants since then (May 2008).
ETA is listed as a terrorist group by Spain, the European Union and the United States. It wants a Basque homeland in northern Spain and a contiguous part of southwest France.
France has for years been ETA's rearguard operations base. The arrests Monday occurred near the town of Carnac in French Brittany, far north of the Spanish border.
Spanish media said the other suspect was a woman, identified as Oihana San Vicente, allegedly also part of ETA's leadership. The two suspects reportedly were armed and traveling in a stolen car.

Press Release No. 09/352
October 5, 2009
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Spain have signed an agreement to provide the Fund with up to €4.14 billion (about US$6 billion). The agreement, which is valid for up to four years, is part of a commitment made by the European Union in March 2009 to contribute up to €75 billion (then equal to about US$100 billion) to support the IMF’s lending capacity (See Press Release No. 09/82). The European Union has since committed an additional €50 million (about US$73 billion) to the Fund’s expanded New Arrangements to Borrow (see Press Release No. 09/298).IMF Signs €4 Billion Borrowing Agreement with Spain

Bowing to their Islamic masters, these dhimmis have destroyed their own country. Spain is finished. "We will not be in peace until we set our foot again in our beloved al-Andalus," (al-Qaeda). Al-Andalus is the Moorish name for Spain.
The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA) has condemned the decision of the government of Spain to expel Israeli architects and solar experts from competing in the finals of the international competition between university architecture departments to design and build a self-sufficient house using solar power. Spain’s Housing Ministry disqualified Ariel University Center of Samaria in Ariel, a Jewish city of over 20,000 people, from competing in the finals. In the words of Sergio Vega, project manager of the competition, Solar Decathlon, “The decision was made by the Spanish government based on the fact that the university is located in occupied territory in the West Bank.” But in fact, there is no EU policy that supports such a practice.
These Jewish architects and solar experts were expelled from the competition after Ariel University Center reached the finals, together with 20 other universities from around the world after two years of collaboration with the competition’s management and the Spanish government. In this framework, the college was even awarded a 100,000 Euro grant by the competition’s organizers to build a model house for the final competition slated to be held in Madrid in June 2010.
The cancellation of the Israeli team’s participation in the competition was urged by an initiative put out by the group so-called Architects and Planners for Justice in Palestine as a continuation of the racist academic boycott against Israel being led for quite some time by the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions Campaign National Committee (BNC).
Ariel University responded saying that it “rejects with disgust the one-sided announcement.” It claimed the decision “contravenes international law and international charters on academic freedom” and harms 10,000 students at the university, including 500 Arabs” (Giles Tremlett, ‘Spain expels Israeli scientists from solar energy competition,’ The Guardian [London], September 4, 2009).
Ariel University received support from Professor Pascal Rollet of France’s Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Architecture de Grenoble, who wrote in solidarity to the University that “I do not agree with the Spanish decision because the Ariel University’s activities are directed towards academic excellence for peace. Kindly receive my utmost support in this difficult situation” (Yaheli Moran Zelikovich, ‘Spain boycotts Ariel college for being on ‘occupied territory,’ September 24, 2009).

In 2007, the Madrid municipality of Ciempozuelos cancelled its observance of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, preferring to highlight what it termed the “genocide of the Palestinian people” by the Jews. In February 2009, El Mundo, a leading Spanish newspaper, published an openly anti-Semitic column by columnist Antonio Gala which identified “Jewish greed” as the cause of the persecution of Jews throughout history. This month, the same newspaper decided to publish an interview with the discredited British Holocaust denier David Irving, found by a British court to be “anti-Semitic and racist,” as part of its coverage of the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of the Second World War. The Israeli ambassador, Raphael Schutz, who protested the Irving interview, has himself been subjected to anti-Semitic abuse in Madrid, where three men shouted “dirty Jew,” “Jew bastard” and “Jewish dog” at him. According to the 2008 Pew Global Attitudes Project, Spain has the highest level of anti-Semitism in Europe, with more Spanish respondents holding negative than positive views about Jews.Bowing to their Islamic masters, these dhimmis have destroyed their own country. Cerro Masatrigo, or Masatrigo Hill, is a cone-shaped hill located in western Spain. Showing a perfect volcano shape Cerro Masatrigo has always been mistakenly called an extinct volcano and even given a name of “magic mountain”. There's a hot new drama from Pedro Almodóvar; it's just not his new movie. Spain's most famous living filmmaker has had a tempestuous relationship with the Spanish Cinema Academy for year. He and his brother Agustín left the Academy in a huff in 2005 to protest the new voting rules for the Goyas (Spain's Oscars).

The immigration issue is dealt with a complete bad faith in Western politics, information and society. It is said that immigration leads to an increase in crimes, even if it's not at all true. Advocates for high-speed rail in the United States have lived a somewhat lonely existence over the past couple of decades. While there has long been talk about developing bullet trains in the U.S. — similar to those in Japan, China and Europe — there has never been much more than talk. Year after year, high-speed rail took a backseat in an autocentric and highflying culture.
There is suddenly enormous interest in getting high-speed trains zipping from city to city in almost every part of the country. As the Obama administration prepares to begin doling out some of the first high-speed-rail grants from the $8 billion allotment, the Federal Railroad Administration has been swamped with applications. Forty states and the District of Columbia have already requested more than $100 billion for high-speed-rail projects.Advocates for high-speed rail in the United States have lived a somewhat lonely... more

'Tens of thousands of people from around the world hurled tonnes of ripe tomatoes at each other Wednesday in an annual food fight that leaves the eastern Spanish town of Bunol covered in red pulp.
More than 40,000 people, including many visitors from Australia, Britain and the United States, took part this year in the food fight known as the "Tomatina", now in its 64th year, a spokeswoman for Bunol's town hall said.
They were provided with over 100 tonnes of tomatoes by the town council for the battle which lasted about one hour and left participants covered in pulp and standing ankle-deep in red mush.'
Sounds like fun (if you like tomatoes!), but I'm wondering if here in the UK, a society which seems to be ruled by Health and Safety, could ever see the funny side of sporting events like these, without the worry of personal injury lawyers knocking at the door?
