Everybody grab your friends! There’s going to be an Ad Hoc party! No, wait; You don’t actually have to go grab your friends, I said “adhocParty“. It’s a new app for your PSP that will allow you to enjoy all your favorite PSP games that only feature Ad Hoc multiplayer modes through your PS3’s internet connection. It’s already been available in Japan for the past year and Sony will be bringing it to the North American PlayStation Store soon… for free!
"Bomberman Live was a big hit for Hudson and a massive resurrection of the publisher's explosive-crazed mascot. With over a half-million downloads, the publisher would have been nuts not to capitalize on the game's success with a sequel. And here it is. Phil Theobald got a first-look at Bomberman Live: Battlefest during a recent Hudson event. Besides new Xbox Live avatar integration, Hudson has apparently made some changes for the better, according to his preview..."
I liked playing Bomberman 64. & bomberman Hero. Hope this will be better than the recent one.
Congratulations all you diehard Final Fantasy fans. You now know the exact day when all interaction with friends and family will cease, as Square Enix today announced that its highly anticipated role-playing game Final Fantasy XIII will be released in North America and Europe on March 9, 2010, for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Some have argued that Visceral Games’ transformation of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, The Divine Comedy, into a God of War-esque action game borders on heresy already. What luck; Heresy is the subject of the newest Dante’s Inferno Developer Diary!
Normally, if there was an island infested with ”ferocious brain-eating zombies, carnivorous Were-Skags and more” I would be the last person to advocate actually visiting it. I mean, if they’re already isolated to a single island, why not just leave the zombies alone? Why even take the risk of exposing the general population to possible infection? But I’m not even going to bother trying to talk you out of it. I know you won’t listen to me anyway. Not when there’s sweet loot for your Borderlands character to be had.

Four passionate gamers who have burned rubber on the race track through their video game consoles have brought their racing dreams to life at an actual speedway for the eighth installment of the Mustang ‘10 Unleashed campaign.
Ford called upon the gaming community and staged a tournament with the best Need for Speed™ players and determined four gamers that would face the ultimate challenge: racing a real 2010 Ford Mustang. The selected gamers competed against each other in the critically-acclaimed Need for Speed SHIFT™, which includes the new 2010 Ford Mustang.
With the help of driving teachers from Fast Lane Racing School, the gamers had the opportunity to learn the in and outs of the actual sport of racing. “The whole point of the Mustang Unleashed Campaign is to intersect the passions of our life-long Mustang lovers with their most creative, wildest, most impossible dreams,” said Steve Ling, car group marketing manager for Ford Motor Company.

Capcom recently asked fans on their blogsite, Capcom-Unity, how they would like to see Resident Evil 5: Alternative Edition released in Europe and North America; as downloadable content or on a disc. Well, the people have spoken and Alternative Edition is going to be DLC only. Good choice, people.
Can’t wait for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Apparently, neither can GameStop. Reports began to surface on Saturday that some GameStop locations in the Northeast (New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, …) were already selling the game, despite the fact that it isn’t slated for release until this Tuesday (Nov 10th).
Sadly, no glowing blue whiteboard dev diary this time around for Avatar: The Game. Instead we just get a little blast of action with a vague spritz of story for flavor.
I’m not holding my breath that this will be another amazing licensed tie-in on the level of Batman: Arkham Asylum, but I’m at least hopeful that it will be worth a rent and not suck. At the very least, Cameron already has my money guaranteed for a movie ticket. I’m willing to forgive him for making Titanic, since he did give us Terminator and Aliens. We owe him that much, at least.
Things are looking up for Xbox 360 owners. Hiroyuki Misawa of Silicon Studios recently stated that a port of the upcoming retro-styled, action-adventure title, 3D Dot Game Heroes, might be a possibility.
We gamers love to play Square Enix games; but this time the Japanese developer is playing games with us. Oh, how the tables have turned. Square has posted a brief message on the Final Fantasy XIII website that could tease a potential upcoming announcement.
Okay, we’re only giving you one chance to back away from this. If you are any of the following, we advise steering well clear of this trailer: under 17 (this is an M-rated title, after all), adverse to possible Modern Warfare 2 spoilers, or have a pathological dislike for hip-hop in general or Eminem in particular.
This launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, set to the tune of Slim Shady’s “‘Till I Collapse”, is pretty action packed and shows a fair few things we haven’t yet seen to date in promotional materials leading up to the game’s release. I… well, I would love to say more about them here, but I’ll be respectful of the spoiler-free crowd. Oh, how I envy your youth and innocence. You don’t have much longer to wait, though, since the game releases next week.
For the rest of you? Go nuts. Hit the link. Enjoy.
The official opening cinematic for LEGO Rock Band looks a great deal like the opening cinematic for the original Rock Band, only with a distinctive LEGO twist.
Traveller's Tales does what they do best in this cinematic launch trailer, lampooning existing properties through gratuitous use of LEGO blocks. Why simply stop at a tour bus, when the whole of LEGO creation is at your fingertips?
To quote a certain parodical depiction of director M. Night Shyamalan, “What a tweest!” You read that correctly – in celebration of LittleBigPlanet’s first birthday, Media Molecule is giving presents to you in the form of two free costumes for your Sackboys and Sackgirls.
I know it probably violates some kind of journalistic ethics or whatever, but I really wanted to like Fairytale Fights. After seeing the game at E3 and seeing how Playlogic reinterpreted some of the all-time classic fairytale stories from long ago, I was an active cheerleader for the game. Well, the final product is now on the market and suffice to say… I’m a little hurt by the results.
The story, in a nutshell, is that a new hero has come to your kingdom, stealing all of the renoun for himself and leaving Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Jack (of Beanstalk fame) and the Naked Emperor as little more than fading memories. Taking control of one of the aforementioned, you set out to reclaim your prestige, personal honor and ensure that when the big book of fairytales is written, you have shot, stabbed, sliced, diced and bludgeoned your way into the annals of history.
Fairytale Fights is a brawler/platformer that, sadly, doesn’t do either of those things particularly well. The combat boils down to flicking the right joystick around and hope you hit who you’re aiming at. Once they’re dead, you move on to the next guy. Rinse and repeat as necessary.
