Modern Warfare 2 so far has had a rocky start all around in terms of multiplayer. It seems all platforms had some problems and the number of people trying to access servers certainly didn’t help. Good news for PC and PlayStation 3 players as it seems the end to the issues is in sight.

Hackers are spreading their operational bases further around the world, according to threat analysis from managed security firm, Network Box. Not only should we all be wary about what links we click on in emails, social networking sites and IM, but we should examine what data we put online.
If you've been enjoying Snow Leapoard on your PC "Hackintosh" your fun might be over (until there is a new hack, that is).
Users who want the Mac OS X experience on a netbook budget have figured out how to hack the Mac OS X operating system to force it to work on netbooks based on the Intel Atom processor. The latest update to the Snow Leopard update removes support for the Atom processor and puts an end to the 'hackintosh'--at least for now.If you've been enjoying Snow Leapoard on your PC "Hackintosh" your fun might be over... more
Mondays are typically slow nights for the world of Azeroth; a few guilds are finishing up raids, a few pugs try and form up before the raids reset the following day. Yeah, Mondays are predictable; or rather, they were.
Earlier tonight I tried logging on to WoW in hopes of finding a couple of pugs and getting a few more badges for some BoA gear, only to see the downloader pop up. A patch on a Monday night? Bad. A patch on a Monday night that doesn’t explain to me what I just downloaded? Really Bad. A patch that is seemingly causing problems for the WoW community? Worse than really bad.
Can’t wait for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2? Apparently, neither can GameStop. Reports began to surface on Saturday that some GameStop locations in the Northeast (New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, …) were already selling the game, despite the fact that it isn’t slated for release until this Tuesday (Nov 10th).
D3’s Puzzle Quest was addicting as all hell; slapping a lite-RPG skin over Bejeweled had to be a stroke of genius on the level of the first person to mix chocolate and peanut butter or hookers and blow. How do you top a formula that neared perfection on its first try?
You hand it over to Square Enix and PopCap. And have them add a dash of Pokemon to the mix.
Were the Geth just not enough for you in the first Mass Effect? Did your version of Commander Shepard long to be dealing with new races of hostile aliens, all gunning for his head? Did that excite you? Is that how you got your sick thrills? Huh? Is it?
I don’t really want to know, to be honest, but this new video may be just the kind of thing that’ll get your motor running – it deals with the some of the various, less friendly alien races of Mass Effect 2 and the many ways they’ll be looking to make Shepard’s life more difficult.
And if you’re not spent by the time all of that is done, there’s a handful of new screens under the jump too. Just make sure to towel off before you head on through.
What? You’ve already finished Dragon Age: Origins? Already? Well fear not stalwart adventurer; BioWare shall not leave your need to cleave unsated! The Dragon Age Toolset is now available!
Have you ever wanted to check out Warhammer Online, but felt that a measly 10 free days just wasn’t enough time to hook you? Well all that is about to change. Yesterday, Mythic announced that they will be replacing the existing 10 day trial with a FREE unlimited trial. Now you can check out the game as much as you want, all within certain limits of course.
Dedicated server support for PC games has become something of a hot topic lately; it’s almost impossible to browse any gaming site without being inundated with multiple articles dealing with the topic (including, I guess, this one. Sorry). Here’s a little more for the fire; in comments made to Variety’s The Cut Scene, id Software co-founder, John Carmack, made some interesting comments that are sure to confound and enrage fans awaiting id’s new first person shooter Rage. Specifically, Carmack mentioned that he didn’t think Rage would support dedicated servers.
Apparently the recent distress over Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s exclusion of dedicated servers on PC isn’t a big deal to gaming’s largest publisher.
Okay, we’re only giving you one chance to back away from this. If you are any of the following, we advise steering well clear of this trailer: under 17 (this is an M-rated title, after all), adverse to possible Modern Warfare 2 spoilers, or have a pathological dislike for hip-hop in general or Eminem in particular.
This launch trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, set to the tune of Slim Shady’s “‘Till I Collapse”, is pretty action packed and shows a fair few things we haven’t yet seen to date in promotional materials leading up to the game’s release. I… well, I would love to say more about them here, but I’ll be respectful of the spoiler-free crowd. Oh, how I envy your youth and innocence. You don’t have much longer to wait, though, since the game releases next week.
For the rest of you? Go nuts. Hit the link. Enjoy.
Shattered Horizon takes place 40 years in the future, after a Lunar catastrophe has left near-Earth space littered with billions of tons of debris. I won’t bother going too deep into the world’s fiction; I really just wanted to mention the game’s main draw – FPS combat in full 360 degree zero-gravity. And I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look pretty cool.
