Never before in the history of Hip Hop, or it's culture has there been a single rap record created that allows today's hip hop heads, as well as non hip hop heads alike to take there partner by the hand and slow drag to thehttp://snd.sc/vxQC4B record,That's right I said “slow drag!” Wow, remember that form of dancing in the blue light basement parties in Brooklyn back in the 70's and 80's? Well unlike the current records that have been released over the years by artist such as Drake and Lil Wayne to respectfully name a few, I discovered an online joint that took me back to my younger years of pot smoking, class skipping ,and basement slow dragging parties all in one and it wasn't a traditional songster or even a singer for that matter this joint was, get this, performed by an artist known internationally as Gangster rapper! according to some of the online Google results I got when I started looking into this song I heard Sunday October 30th
I was in the kitchen of my small Brooklyn apartment when my 17 year old son asked if he could use our shared computer, like most of the time I said sure, no problem, I'd say about 20 minutes past when I noticed my son in the living room with the head phones on and his eyes closed nodding his head to this record, I panicked a little bit because my son is generally a very hyper teen music listener, and I usually hear small amounts of change jingling in his pockets or see him lip syncing and bouncing around to what ever he's listening too, but not that day. I walked up to him, pulled the headphones off one ear and asked him flat out, “alright Jamal, what girl got you listening to grown folks music?”
My son replied this ain't your grown folks music ma, this is our grown folks music
[referring to his age group]
So I asked him to start the record over, and he did, and I asked him, “Jamal,is this dude rapping to this music” and he said “yeah ma” I asked him who the rapper was and he said “Scarecrow”, I said “who?” and he said “his name is Hector but sometimes people call him Scarecrow”. I asked my son to burn me a copy of the song on a CD for my car and he did. Monday I called off from work to catch up on my house cleaning and get ready for trick or treaters, and take some me time, later that morning I Googled “Hector Scarecrow” and saw 423,000 hits for an Atlanta producer named Lord Hector Diono, and the song I was listening to was a joint called
“I Don't Know The Plan”. I saw it on soundcloud.com, but at the time I couldn't download this song my folder, it was streaming only and after that I started searching the web, I located him on facebook, linkedin, myspace, and a host of other sites all over the internet, so I sent him a private request on facebook. I asked Hector if it would be okay with him if I blogged my story about how I heard the first rap slow jam ever made and it was his song, and he sent me his phone number to discuss my request since I don't work for him, in short we spoke for about 15 minutes and to my surprise Hector sounds like a Caribbean gigolo on the phone {smiles} he said to me, “sure darling I don't see why not” WOW.. he sounded so good to me but enough of that, he even fixed it online where I'd be able to download this song for free after I explained to him that I couldn't download it because of the player settings and he fixed it just for me! Carol from Brooklyn! Hector told me that if I was going to blog him to be sure I spelled his name right and announce that it will be on iTunes on Saturday November 12 and to download his free Android app from https://market.android.com he didn't know I had found that info on the internet already I was going to write that anyway (smiles)

Occupy Atlanta - Social Changes

October 15-16, 2011

The second weekend of Occupy Atlanta proved to be a much different experience than when it began. Emotional, personal, and what started as an outcry for Economic justice seemed to have morphed into a protest, a movement against Social Injustices. Such is the atmosphere in the South, how fitting Atlanta has turned inward and demanding more from their own community.

The introduction of changing the name of the park from Woodruff Park to "Troy Davis Park," has certainly resonated with many of the protesters as racial injustice, despite that many of them do not know just how convoluted the case of Troy Davis really was. While some, justly, protested the Death Penalty, there are still others who are concerned with what they call an unfair and racist trial for man convicted of ultimately, two murders. But neither here nor there, the passion over this man's life and death was evident among everyone who participated.

On the day Washington D.C. was dedicating the Martin Luther King Jr. statue, The Almighty Movement of God church joined Occupy Atlanta. They set up a tent for church services and ministry. They held a press conference and attracted local news entities in order to show their support for the protesters. They led a March down to the MLK Memorial singing "We Shall Overcome," and preached the victory of the people in the Name of Jesus. During the speeches at the Memorial, one man stood in the middle circle - and what he said, I will not forget, he stated that he realized not everyone, including himself, was a person of faith, but that there was, "something holy about this place, and it makes me nervous." He went on to talk about the failure of leadership in the US - and King's message about the "urgency of now," and rallied the protesters around the desperateness need for change. Another man called out and shouted, "we are the solution," and urged the younger people to change their world. A young 20 year old said he didn't know much but knew that he wanted to make a better future- eliminating the obstacles of not finding a job, being able to live a life of freedom. Still another man, who was very emotional, admitted he was new to the movement but he didn't understand why the community wasn't working to help prostitutes and put an end to street violence. From eliminating racial tensions to increasing community care and participation - the outcries were not really about economics and taxes and corrupt capitalism. It was about the people. When they left the memorial, they continued to sing "We Shall Overcome," and chant.

Later, when asked by a local media station, if they were now aligning themselves with the Almighty Movement of God Church and becoming a religious movement, their answer was, simply, was that they were a Social movement that was not aligning themselves with anyone, but accepting the help of everyone who offered to step in.

Occupy Atlanta has made it evident they do not trust police, authority figures of any kind and are weary of even the kindest Officials - who ironically offered a protective police escort to and from the King Memorial Site. In fact, Sunday night, an announcement was read by a member of their Media Committee - stating that a young 19-year-old had been shot in the back by a Marta Police Officer while running away from a crime scene with his hands in the air-- following a football game. In response; the encampment held an immediate vigil, lighting candles and solemnly commemorating the boy's life. It was as if they had become more determined to fight. Still the Atlanta Police have not made a single arrest at the park. Mayor Reed has extended the deadline more than once to allow the protesters to stay at the park as long as they are co-operative with park cleaning and noise levels. With the social turn of debate it seems the Mayor has extended sympathies to the protesters and a certain report has formed between Occupy participants and City Officials.

But there was something, even more, that stuck out at the Occupy camp this weekend - They had wall, a wooden fence - and written on it were stories of Occupiers, citizens who are in protest of the system. And while some of them described losing jobs or not getting loans from the bank, many many more told stories of broken homes, addict parents, loss of security, homelessness, anger because they couldn't get an education, jealousy, and one even read, "So What's The Point Anymore?" My first thought was, this is Wailing of Wall of Occupy, the desperation of my generation and the one following. As I peered through the lens of a camera, eyes stinging in wonder and sadness, all I read were people who were broken. Sometime later, protesters dressed as zombies, fitting for those who feel dead in the world, spilled fake blood on the wall - and while some were quick to defend that it was ruining artwork, other saw it as a testament to what the words on the Wall read. I did.

Of all the desperation that proved itself evident over the course the weekend, one thing brought a smile - how many of homeless were actually being taken care of, with jobs in the camp, food, responsibilities and given hope that they were worth enough to be trusted enough to accomplish something and contribute to a society, to a community.

Occupy Atlanta is beginning to show itself less as an Economic protest against the banks and governmental injustice. Rather it is showing the faces of social and personal needs for a freedom many of them don't have.

Their continued complaints against political systems are only the mask of far greater issue. As the advocates and protesters continue, one thing is for certain, they are persistent in creating a changed community. The only obstacle it seems is they have yet to define what it looks like when "their work is done." The question still poses, what does the current system and government need to do to show the Occupy movement that they've been heard?

Time will tell.

Fiery Crash Kills Friend of Music Icon

Story by Jess Glass| Hood Watch Media Athens, Georgia Thursday August 18, 2011: A fiery crash on on I-75 in Monroe County Sunday night left one driver dead and the GBI has identified the victim.

The body of an unidentified woman killed in a multi-vehicle accident on I-75 southbound on Sunday, August 14, 2011 has been identified as Ebony Underwood, 23, of Dublin,a friend to Atlanta music producer Lord Hector Diono. This comes as Lord Hector Diono finishes a tribute single to his fallen friend of last year another female victim of sudden tragedy, Miss Lateaka T. Coston of Marietta, Georgia who died last year September 4, 2010 just days after her 29th birthday, of a massive heart attack. Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputies are continuing an investigation into the case but said that it appears that only three vehicles were involved in the crash. Around 9:46 Sunday night, a Dodge Dakota, driven by Craig Joseph Podell, 34, of Ames, Iowa, made an illegal lane change causing the Dodge truck to rear-end a roll-back wrecker driven by Chastity Hopper, 20, of Forsyth. The wrecker then hit the Buick Regal driven by Ms. Underwood. The wrecker and the Regal flipped over the guardrail and caught fire. Hopper and her passenger, Christopher Baxter, 27, were transported to the Medical Center of Central Georgia. Ms. Underwood's body was taken to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta. Mr. Podell refused medical treatment.

It is unknown whether seatbelts were in use at the time of the accident. Mr. Podell is being charged with failure to maintain lane and following too closely.

Funeral arrangements are set for Saturday August 20, 2011 it is not been made clear whether Lord Hector Diono will be attending the services but it has been made clear that our CEO is very upset about the senseless tragedy and our prayers and condolences go out to the family of Ebony Underwood. On Tuesday August 16, officers charged the driver who blamed the deadly wreck on an unknown vehicle - Atlanta public safety for Hoodwatch Media Atlanta | Examiner| Officers on Tuesday identified Ms. Underwood as the woman who died in a fiery crash on I-75 over the weekend.
According to music underground sources, Ebony Underwood, 23, was also an aspiring singer, with a deep soulful, and gospel background, and she was deeply devoted to her religious beliefs, she also recorded some music projects in Atlanta Georgia. Lord Hector Diono submitted he never worked with Ms. Underwood due to his grueling production schedule, and professional and legal obligations to Def Jam Music Group, but he recalled one song she recorded that during a freestyle session that she shared with him entitled "In the Studio".

Mr. Craig Joseph Podell, 34, of Ames, told police he was heading southbound on I-75 when he was hit by another vehicle near Pearidge Road, Monroe County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Ms. Allison Selman-Willis said.

Investigators have now determined no vehicle hit Mr. Podell’s Dodge Dakota and have charged him with failure to maintain lane and following too closely, Ms. Selman-Willis said.

Ms. Ebony Underwood, 23, of Dublin, died in the three-vehicle wreck that also injured Ms. Chastity Hopper, 20, of Forsyth, and her passenger, Mr. Christopher Baxter, 27, Ms. Selman-Willis said.

At 9:46 p.m. Sunday, Mr. Podell made an illegal lane change causing the Dodge truck to rear-end a Ms. Hopper’s roll-back wrecker, Ms. Selman-Willis said.

The wrecker then hit Ms. Underwood’s Buick Regal, The entire HWM family announces hope for the family and closest friends to Ms. Underwood that justice be served swiftly in this case.
