Actor Evan Ross was in Atlanta yesterday for a series of press opps for the upcoming film Mooz-lum, which hits theaters Friday, Feb. 11. After taping "The Mo'Nique Show" and stopping by Hot 107.9 for an afternoon interview with radio jock Emperor Searcy, Ross greeted fans at a Clark-Atlanta University autograph signing and film screening. In Mooz-lum, Ross, who currently has a role on 90210, plays the lead character "Tariq," a young man trying to 'find himself' in the midst of his father's strict Muslim principles and the events of 9/11. First NBC backed Ron Moore's Harry Potter for adults series (17th Precinct), then ABC greenlit Poe, the Edgar Allan Poe period police procedural, now comes Grimm the fairytale cop show. What's next, Law & Order: Mother Goose?
Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Jim Kouf (Angel) and David Greenwalt (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) have penned the latest magical cop drama, Grimm. Which is being described as a, "dark but fantastical cop drama about a world in which characters inspired by Grimm's Fairy Tales exist."
With the plethora of fantasy cop shows coming to our screens, let's hope this series will be exceptionally dark. Like COPS with a naked elf junkie running around in the magical trailer park. Hell, as long as it's half as funny as Adam Green's series Fairy Tale Police (below) we're in good hands.

I rather enjoy the BBC’s Being Human series. There’s something I like about the very short, to-the-point seasons; there’s just no time to beat around the bush and they can’t throw in a frustrating filler episode. It’s light and deep at the same time and it’s just a fun ride.
I’m not at all riveted to the new SyFy version of Being Human. It’s weird for me, to watch a remake of a series when the original hasn’t even finished telling its story yet. It seems … unnecessary. I feel no need to experience Being Human‘s Bizarro World, even though I have nothing against it and have caught most of it so far.
However, the BBC may be onto something with its newly-announced web series spinoff, Becoming Human, about a teenaged ghost, vampire and werewolf. Adam, the vampire, made an appearance in Being Human‘s third season and navigates high school with his new buds in the web series.
Everything about this move is a smart one:
They are not reinventing the wheel (you are, SyFy, and your wheel is square. …).
They are tapping into the vast teenaged market for all things supernatural (maybe they should meet a zombie, cover all of their bases?).
A web series is cheaper to make, therefore monetary risk is involved.
It’s really well done. I watched the first episode and it’s beautifully shot and quite funny … there’s even a Lost joke! Plus, there’s a legitimate, intriguing mystery arc — this isn’t your average teeny-bopper show. I’ll definitely be watching the rest of the series.
