Okay everybody's scene Gary Brolsma's Numa Numa. And I'm not using 'everybody' liberally. If the number of hits this video received represents an internet user, then more than 7% of every internet user across the globe has witnessed Broslma's magnum opus.
[youtube 60og9gwKh1o]
A video is officially viral when it's been featured on notable blogs, made its way through the twitter, and has over 15,000 views. But this copy of Numa Numa, has over 28 million hits. It is post-viral. I think it needs a new term.
I'd like to suggest, that we as participants in the meme-o-sphere begin calling videos like this: Pandemic Videos.
People are so scared that Swine Flu will become a pandemic.
I say we should be more concerned with the Pandemics we already have!: David at the Dentist, Charlie Bit My Finger, Daft Hand, ETC.
If you want to learn more about viral videos, consult the Rocketboom Institute for Internet Studies, and check out the latest sensations on Current Virals.
And don't forget to check out Cewebrity Profiles with infoMania's Ben Hoffman.
