Just like snowflakes, no two people are alike, even if they're identical twins according to new genetic research from The University of Western Ontario. Molecular geneticist Shiva Singh has been working with psychiatrist Dr. Richard O'Reilly to determine the genetic sequencing of schizophrenia using identical or monozygotic twins.

Did you know that 25% of identical twins are mirror image twins?
My favorite aunts are mirror image twins - their hair swirls in the opposite direction, one is left-handed, one right-handed. One is dyslexic, one is not.
My identical girls are not mirror image...as far as I know yet!
Here's the definition:
Mirror image twins are monozygotic, twins that form from a single fertilized egg. When the split occurs late - more than a week after conception - the twins can develop reverse asymmetric features. This term is not really a type of twin, just an way to describe their physical features. In theory, if the twins faced each other, they would appear to be exact reflections of each other.Did you know that 25% of identical twins are mirror image twins?

When identical twin sisters Diane and Darlene Nettemeier met identical twin brothers Craig and Mark Sanders a decade ago, they could never have guessed just how much of their lives would be based around perfect sets of two.
The sets of twins, from Texas, fell in love, went on a double date to Las Vegas, and won thousands of dollars at poker. Sensing they were on a winning streak, they got engaged on the same day, married at a joint ceremony (officially "quarternary marriages"), and built a pair of homes, side by side.
Soon afterwards, despite a million-to-one odds, Diane and Craig went on to have identical twins of their own - Colby and Brady, now seven.

The death of Dennis Lewis was shocking enough: the National Honor Society student and marching band member was shot in his bedroom while masked robbers held a gun on his mother in another room.
Then police arrested his identical twin, an advanced placement student also active in their high school band.
