Remember way back in the good ol’ days of E3 2006 when Gran Turismo 5 was first announced? Of course, that was eons ago and the game still hasn’t seen the light of day. No worries, though. It’s coming out in March! They said so!
Actually, not so much. Yet again, PS3-exclusive Gran Turismo 5 has gotten a bump in release date.

I thought this was a massive amount of money to be spending - similar to a film until I read the rest of the article on Digitalspy:
""There are other games that cost more," he told AutoWeek. "Considering the size and scale of the game, I think it's probably a fairly small amount."
It has been speculated that the most expensive game was Grand Theft Auto IV at $120 million (£72m), while Dreamcast adventure Shenmue was reported to cost $70 million (£42m)"
Shenmue must have hurt as it couldn't have sold many units.

Gran Turismo had been in development for the PSP since the console originally launched. Or, at least I think it was. It’s hard to remember since it’s been so long from when the game was announced to when it was finally released at the beginning of October. With a newfound interest in providing high quality titles for their portable platform, Sony and Polyphony Digital finally unveiled the Gran Turismo experience to the open arms of PSP owners worldwide. Sadly, the experience is a hollow one, and the game doesn’t come close to living up to any of its predecessors.

"After years of sitting tight, it seems Gran Turismo 5 has at last been dated. The racer is due to drop on 4 December according to gaming sources. As well as the game, there’s also chatter about a PS3 Slim bundle to boot. Read on gamers and get excited.
Getting het up about plans for Gran Turismo 5 goes as far back as excitement over the initial PS3 launch. Praise be, then, that GT5 has at last been given a release date. French site Jeux Video says it’s due to land on 4 December, with a special PS3 Slim in tow.
There is one small issue though. Sony won’t confirm the release date, offering a no comment when badgered. However, its own publicity has previously said that Gran Turismo 5 will be dropping at the end of 2009."

While a solid release date for Gran Turismo 5 remains shrouded in mystery, new details surrounding the game’s ability to connect with its PSP brethren suggest the two may have a play date scheduled for this holiday season.
Kazunori Yamauchi, Gran Turismo series creator and CEO of Polyphony Digital, recently revealed to French gaming site, JVN, what gamers can expect from the PS3/PSP connectivity inherent to two of this year’s most anticipated titles.
