look, i'm not trying to be difficult here, but maybe i dont understand this study. in the second half of the article, they say the scientists put a hurdle in front of the cat, stopped the cat before it could walk over the hurdle (by distracting the cat with food), and then lowered the hurdle. when the cat didnt step over the now non-existent obstacle, they interpreted it thusly: "the cats forgot [the hurdle] had even been there in the first place and continued on their way". now, i didnt see the experiment being done, and maybe i'm giving the cat too much credit, but instead of forgetting it, couldnt the cat have just seen that the hurdle was now gone and decided it didnt need to step over something that wasnt there anymore?look, i'm not trying to be difficult here, but maybe i dont understand this... more
