Some might say that professional and extreme bodybuilding is all about pushing the body to its limits, in search of that “perfect image” that tends to vary from person to person. Others might claim that it’s an addiction that can’t be helped, a habit that must be continuously fuelled and supported. Some might say that professional and extreme bodybuilding is all about pushing the... more

French photographer Guy Bourdin, one of my faves, was a master of composition and color, who not only took incredible still photographs of women but also transcended his visual art onto film using super 8s.
Bourdin's strong color contrast, highly sexualised photographs of beautiful girls is like soft porn with a dark and sinister edge. His other worldly creations are nothing short of being shocking, provocative and surreal.
His experimental films retain the same surrealism as his photographs but some offer a softer, more poetic character study of his subjects.
Bourdin is regarded as a highly influential fashion photographer whose work can clearly be seen resonating in many of the new and young fashion photographers of today.French photographer Guy Bourdin, one of my faves, was a master of composition and... more
This is a totally bad ass collab!
Film shot by one of my favorite photographers, Emma Summerton, for one of my fave London based fashion designers BodyAmr's S/S10 collection.
I love this video because it reminds me of Guy Bourdin's photographic work but its alot darker. This could be a product of Bourdin and David Lynch's sweet film love making. Sexy woman (check), eery (check), mysterious (check), surreal (CHECK!) And the music is spot on! So hauntingly beautiful. Its amazing how powerful music is in setting the right tone for a piece.
Emma has done a series of self portraits using polariods that span about 7 years , she has successfully developed a photographic style of her own but you can definately see the influence of Bourdin in her work.
Incidently, the sexy lady in the film is none other than Emma herself.

If there is one man that understands the lust women have for shoes its this man himself.
Ask any female who is sitting right next to u now and prepare to witness how sexually charged she becomes (blood pumping, faster breathing) as she screams in orgasmic glory: CHRISTIAN LOUBOUTIN!
His shoes are pure sexual beauties. Perfection. The cut is ALWAYS right. The man knows EXACTLY what to expose, how to elongate the legs, how to make you WANT to suffer in 6 inch pencil thin stilettos. Basically, LOUBOUTIN = SEX
And now, he's going behind the camera for his film debut which he wrote and directed inspired by Hitchcock's Psycho which 'tells the story of a young woman finding her ultimate fantasy... at the new Hollywood Boutique of Christian Louboutin.' The same scene replays twice a year each year in Paris and Milan. Young men in skinny jeans and the latest sneakers and T-shirts line up at top fashion houses hoping for a flush male modelling job.
At the venerable house of Ungaro on a sunny day in June, designer Franck Boclet and his trusted assistant Damien Amsallem turned up early to work for the label's 24-hour "casting" - finding 15 male models with the right look and right body to carry off their new collection to catwalk perfection at Paris Fashion Week, starting Thursday.
"There are lots of candidates this year," said Amsallem ahead of the June 25-29 Paris Men's Fashion. "It must be the crisis. Even models who've done major advertising campaigns for perfumes like Chanel are looking for work."
In all more than 100 young men from London, Moscow, Tokyo, Paris and elsewhere turned up, crowding corridors and milling on stairs clutching press-books and lists of the several dozen other Paris designers casting for models that day.
"It's one casting after another," said Montreal model Felix Bujo. "You run around from house to house looking for work and eat on the hop. This is our life, travelling the world from one fashion week to another looking for jobs."
It was no go for him at Ungaro's however. Nor for 20-year-old six-foot-one (1.86-metre) design student Harvey Newton-Haydon and six-foot-three (1.92-metre) history student Jamie Conday, both from Britain.
"This is our first try at modelling," said Harvey. "We have to get to Dior and Prada. They're casting this afternoon, but we don't know our way around."

Legendary mod model Lesley Hornby, (better known as TWIGGY Lawson), has gigantic, green, painted eyes that defined a decade. Here's a how-to on her striking look. This eye makeup is great if you want to stand out at a party, maybe not so great for work, as I unfortunately discovered.
[CLICK LINK ABOVE FOR BETTER, ILLUSTRATED DIRECTIONS]
At 16 in the mid 60’s, she was an internationally-known supermodel, (”the first”, according to her official website). Signaturely thin to the extreme - almost androgynous - with a boyish frame and hairstyle, her pretty, pouty lips and irresistibly cute expressions dominated fashion magazines of the 60’s. Twiggy’s beautifully spiderish eyes and simple, mod style greatly influenced fashion in Britain and America at the time and continues to do so. Even today, she is still the face of the 60’s in the U.K.
Twiggy’s mod wardrobe consisted of mini- and micro-mini skirts and dresses with simple and bold patterns, shapes, and colors. This style is attributed to Mary Quant, a British fashion designer credited with the invention of the mini-skirt. Quant is also known for bright, bold shades on eyes, lips, and nails - a style sometimes referred to as “Paint Box” makeup.
1. PREP & POWDER - Wash face and apply concealer, powder, and a light peach blush if desired. Lightly brush a bit of powder underneath your eyes. This will help keep stray eyeshadow from messing up your look, as it will be easier to brush it away, (oh-so-gentley), with a makeup brush. You may also want to refine and thin out the shape of your eyebrows first.
2. SHADOW - Though Twiggy did not always do this, a pearly white or light shade of eyeshadow can be brushed over eyelid to minimize darkness. Applying a bit of pearly shadow or eyeliner in the corners and underneath the eyes is also optional but recommended to enhance and enlarge the eyes.
3. CREASE - With a small eyeliner or angled shadow brush, line just a smidge above the natural crease of your eyes with a dark brown, grey, or black shadow.
Loose powder works best, a pencil may even be used very lightly if accuracy is an issue, just be sure to smudge it so it’s not just a solid line.
4. LINER - Now it gets tricky. You may want to have a damp Q-Tip at hand in case you mess up so errors can quickly be erased because it’s harder to take off dry liquid liner.
As for the type of liquid liner, I recommend Physicians’ Formula. The cheaper brands don’t line evenly, streak, and are generally not worth it.
5. LIDS - Start at the outer edge of your eyelid as close to your lash line as you can. Make the line gradually thin out as you get to the corner of your eye. If you can’t handle it, you don’t have to line all the way to the corner, just get a little past your iris at least. Twiggy’s lid liner extends past the corner and outer edge, forming “wings” on both sides that end and meet the eyeshadow crease line.
6. LASHES - This for me is the most irritating step. If you absolutely can’t stand them, get a really good lengthening mascara and brush on coat after coat, blinking on a tissue or your finger between coats to avoid clumping. Better yet, get Imju Fiberwig mascara for the illusion of false lashes.
The false lashes should be very long, thick, and exaggerated as possible. I like the Halloween ones, but get whatever you’re comfortable wearing. To apply, very carefully peel both lash sets off plastic. Very gently squeeze a thin line of glue along the edge. Be sure to apply the lashes to the right eye, (the longer side goes to the outer edge, smaller to the corner).

Brazilian model Mariana Bridi da Costa, whose hands and feet were amputated in a bid to save her from a deadly and little-known illness, died early Saturday, two friends of the model told CNN. She was only 20 years old.
Brazilian model Mariana Bridi da Costa died Saturday after undergoing multiple amputations.
"Unfortunately Mari couldn't resist any longer. She passed away at 3 a.m. today," Henrique Fontes, executive director of Miss World Brazil, said in an e-mail to CNN.
Dr. Greg Martin of Emory University in Atlanta said: "It is a leading health threat in this country, killing at least 800,000 people a year," he said.
Martin said sepsis is a "response" to an infection that can cause the immune system to lose its balance.
"Basically, the immune system goes haywire after contracting an infection and begins to overreact," he said.
At first the Drs. thought that Mariana only had a urinary tract infection. She arrived at the hospital complaining of feeling ill. By the time the infection was detected, it had developed into septicemia. The tragic end to Mariana's fight to stay alive.

Australian Fashion Week has banned models under the age of 16 from catwalks.
This first came about after organizers announced that 14-year-old "Polish model would be the face of this year's industry-only event." This outraged "fashionistas."
The article goes on to say:
Vogue magazine refused to feature Monika Jagaciak, while Marie Claire editor Jackie Frank called for the minimum age for models in Australia to be raised to 16.
Initially AWF stood by Jagaciak, insisting she had the support of her parents and would be chaperoned on her visit to Sydney.
But in a short statement AFW boss Simon Lock has confirmed organisers have revoked that decision.
"Effective immediately both male and female models participating in AFW will need to be at least 16 years of age and must be represented by a reputable model agency," the statement said.
