Are you a socially conscious, American citizen? Do you pay much attention to what takes place beyond the confines of your own cozy, little piece of property, or self-interest? If you think I mean whether or not you know if Lindsay Lohan, is in or out of jail, then sadly, I must suggest that perhaps you have fallen prey to whatever fodder it may be of which is being methodically drummed into you..

The September 11 attacks have been revealed as a last gasp of a fading, cult-like twentieth-century vision, not as the wave of the future. They were the equivalent of the frenetic dashing to and fro of a chicken already beheaded. Al-Qaeda’s core assumptions have been refuted by subsequent events and above all in 2011 by the Arab Spring.
AQ adopted a form of pan-Islamism, a dream of making Islam a basis for a national idea, so that an Islamic superpower could be created, in which Egypt and Saudi Arabia would be provinces. This superpower would be a dictatorship, and would come into being through the actions of pan-Islamic guerrillas in each country who would violently overthrow the national government. The point of attacking the United States was only that it was seen to stand behind the governments of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and so forth, making them impossible to overthrow.
The entire ideology was never more than a crackpot vision, entirely unrealistic and all the more violent for that. (A corollary is that one reason the US was not attacked again on that scale is that 9/11 was bait, and George W. Bush took the bait.)
Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld and George W. Bush, however, saw the attacks as “an opportunity.” They were an opportunity to assert American dominance of the oil fields of the Middle East, and therefore, they reasoned, of the energy future of the entire world, ensuring the predominance of the American superpower throughout the twenty-first century.
Second, it has been demonstrated that the leading edge in political change in the Arab world is relatively secular youth who support labor unions and dignity for working people– i.e. that the most effective revolutionaries are a kind of Arab New Left, not small cells of fundamentalist terrorists.
Ironically, American politicians attempted to pull the wool over our eyes by saying that al-Qaeda hated us for our values. But it turns out that the Arabs are now the peoples sacrificing most for a rule of law, accountability, transparency, and parliamentary governance. One wonders, indeed, if they do not now value those things more than most Americans.
The real cost of the wars of aggression was a decline in the standing of the US abroad, a gutting of the UN Charter and international legal norms, and a de facto repeal civil liberties at home. The American people, however, are resilient and strong. The American system of government is flexible. If we are supine and abject, our children will not be. Already, federal government intrusion into our lives is being questioned on the right and the left alike. With hard work and a bit of luck, perhaps over the course of a generation, we can get our Bill of Rights back. And if government officials drag their feet too much in returning our inalienable rights to us, the Egyptian and Tunisian youth have already shown the way forward.

A U.S. Navy SEAL and the muzzle flash of his weapon.
The last thing Bin Laden felt....
His head exploding from a U.S. Navy bullet.
How fitting!
The next thing Bin Laden saw....
His Allah, with his mask removed, with ultimate evil revealed in his face.
The next thing Bin Laden heard...
"Welcome, Osama, you fool. I've been waiting for you. Welcome to everlasting torment. Former Congressman Ike Skelton, D-Mo. issued the following statement after learning of the death of Osama bin Laden:
“On 9/11, I went to the Pentagon while the fires were still burning and witnessed the destruction brought about by Osama bin Laden and his fellow international criminals. Now Osama bin Laden’s death should have a chilling effect on other al Qaeda members because they must know they are next. It makes me proud, humbled and awed to know the last thing Osama bin Laden saw on this Earth was a trained, armed, ready and willing member of the United States military. God bless America.” http://rturner229.blogspot.com/2011/05/skelton-issues-statement-on-osama-bin.htmlA U.S. Navy SEAL and the muzzle flash of his weapon.

The story goes like this: Reagan was able to finally win the Cold War and drive a stake through the heart of the Evil Empire because he realized that the Soviet economy was already badly overextended trying to prop up the war machine. All he had to do was accelerate the arms race, dramatically increasing military spending (while also amping up the sabre-rattling rhetoric) and that would force the Russkis to bankrupt themselves trying to compete. The story goes like this: Reagan was able to finally win the Cold War and drive a... more

In a little less than 10 years, President Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden was dead. His death closed the chapter on a horrific day in human history. This week will mark the tenth anniversary when terror from aboard reached America’s shore. This event- so surreal in its scope seemed just like a movie.
It was hard not to think about the people that you loved on that day. You found yourself reaching out to family, friends, and close neighbors that you haven’t contacted in years just to check if they were okay. On that day, we forgot about ourselves and thought about other people. In a sense- we were all a little more humane that day. Fast forward to the present and it seems like we have forgotten about the lessons we learned that day. We replaced it with fear, doubt, and cynicism-we reversed back to the people we were before 9/11.In a little less than 10 years, President Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden was... more

"There were a number of reasons I retrieved and posted the 4 page police report from the East Rutherford, NJ P.D. on the 9-11-2001 Dancing Israelis incident. If any 9-11 researchers had seen the report, they failed to make it available for public scrutiny. As a consequence, some individuals have concluded that the Dancing Israelis were an "urban legend", based only on researchers' opinions and a slew of seemingly disparate facts."
The FBI's investigation of the Dancing Israelis is close to 450 pages long. Many sections are blanked out, some pages have been withheld, and it won't be completely declassified until 2030 at the earliest. The report is in 6 sections. The PDF "search" option does not seem to be working. A brief synopsis of some findings are below, section by section."There were a number of reasons I retrieved and posted the 4 page police report... more

Some Possibly Killed in Abbottabad Helicopter Crash Months Before
By Gordon Duff, Senior Editor
Today 31 NATO troops, 20 of them Navy Seals from the Osama bin Laden operation died in what is reported as a helicopter crash in Afghanistan.
The chances of this story being true is almost nil. The chances of this being a staged coverup is over 80%. We believe these people were murdered to silence them. This is why.
We have solid information on two areas:
Osama bin Laden died in 2001 as an active CIA employee and his body was recovered in Afghanistan and taken to “the sand box.” We were told it was frozen. We have so much verification from this, CIA, ISI, US military and top officials. I have a direct confirmation from Bin Laden’s CIA handler who I grilled mercilessly on this.
The Abbottabad operation involved numerous American deaths, witnessed, bodies all over, a helicopter crash. (suppressed translated TV interview below) These bodies were recovered by land vehicle from Islamabad and there was NO “successful” bin Laden operation of any kind. There was and has been a CIA safe house in Abbotabad where terror suspects were stored for years.
This gave the US several areas of severe vulnerability. Generally, Navy Seals are the best people in the world at keeping their mouths shut, these are real team players, as the term “Seal Team” belies.
"We at VT were informed that the bin Laden operation was staged at this time, a theatrical farce, to cover the exit of Secretary Gates, the move by former CIA Director Leon Panetta into the DOD as Secretary of Defense and to stem any heroic claims by new CIA Director Petraeus of killing the long dead Osama bin Laden, the long frozen CIA operative."

Before Osama bin Laden died at the hands of U.S. Navy SEALs in May, his terror wish list reportedly included attacking the United States on the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks and shooting down President Obama's helicopter or plane while the president was in the air.
A U.S. official confirmed to CBS News correspondent Bob Orr Friday that intelligence gathered during the May 2 raid on bin Laden's compound in Pakistan revealed that the al Qaeda head discussed with his operations planners a wide array of potential attacks against the U.S. and senior American officials.
All of the discussions were determined by the U.S. government to be "aspirational," and there is no evidence to indicate that any ideas ever developed into an actual plot, Orr reports. The U.S. official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said that discussions among bin Laden and his deputies about the opaque 9/11 anniversary attack included which of al Qaeda's operatives should be involved.
ABC News reported Friday that those discussions included targeting Mr. Obama aboard Air Force One or Marine One and executing a similar airborne attack against Gen. David Petraeus, the commander of U.S. and NATO forces in Afghanistan who was recently confirmed as the next director of the CIA.
The revelations from the obtained intelligence emphasize that bin Laden remained fixated, years after al Qaeda hijacked American airliners to use as weapons, on aviation as a potential target or weapon, Orr reports. The U.S. official noted that the intelligence also shows that, despite bin Laden's isolation in his Abbottabad compound, he was still involved in planning operations and directing those plans. Before Osama bin Laden died at the hands of U.S. Navy SEALs in May, his terror wish... more
