Dual US and Israeli journalist and Atlantic writer Jeffrey Goldberg uses the tried and true justification for the US to go to war on behalf of world Jewry: the persecution of Jews by the Nazi regime.

‘To Never Forget’
"A photograph of the Auschwitz flyover hangs today in offices across the Israeli defense establishment. In the Ministry of Defense in Tel Aviv, the photos I saw were signed by General Eliezer Shkedi, who was the air force commander at the time. The inscription on these photos read, “To remember. To never forget. To rely on no one but ourselves.”
This past weekend, Eshel was appointed commander of the Israeli air force. It will fall to him to plan and execute the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities, should Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu order him to do so. Senior U.S. officials think that Netanyahu is preparing to launch such an attack in the coming months.
Netanyahu has never kept hidden his feelings about Iran. This is what he told me three years ago: “You don’t want a messianic apocalyptic cult controlling atomic bombs. When the wide-eyed believer gets hold of the reins of power and the weapons of mass death, then the entire world should start worrying.”
Iran represents the definitive, post-Nazi Jewish nightmare: a regime that openly argues for the destruction of Israel and is seeking nuclear weapons. The Iranian supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, said just last week, “The Zionist regime is a cancerous tumor that should be removed and will be removed, God willing.” The regime seems bent on building weapons that could actually bring about the obliteration of Israel and its six million Jews."Dual US and Israeli journalist and Atlantic writer Jeffrey Goldberg uses the tried and... more

You ask yourself, just how twisted, indifferent and malevolent can some people get before the universe begins to construct an international gallows franchise everywhere there needs to be one. Each day we see unknown wannabees and the usual suspects, vying and competing to see which of them can be registered and remembered as one of the greatest assholes of our time.
You’ve got Olympics scale competitors, like Janet Nazipolitano and Skull Chertoff. Even their own criminal associates have passed an inflexible law that these two are not allowed to breed. Of course, if you know more about them, you would realize that restriction is unnecessary. There are all kinds of rich people like Jane Harman, Jay Rockefeller, John Kerry, John McCain and others who weren’t satisfied to just spend their spouses or parent’s money and live high on the cannibal hog. They needed, through some terrible compulsion, to also be able to fuck with the lives of others for personal amusement. Why else would you go into public service if you already possessed the payoff for which people go into public service?
Of course there is the vanity of public exposure and personal importance and when you look and act like the serial killer version of Lyle Lovett or a poor man’s Hannibal Lector in Depends, then I guess Nature is telling you, you gotta do what you were designed to do, badly, or worse. There are a few who go into it just for the celebration of pure evil, like Joe Lieberman or Chuckie Schumer but they got those Satan does vaudeville genes.
Sometimes, I sit back and ask myself; where are and who are the good guys? Maybe Ron Paul is a good guy, maybe. We are damn well going to see whether he is now or not because he is in the catbird seat for where his caterwauling has led him. I guess I’d like him better if he didn’t sound like a perpetual member of the Vienna Boy’s Choir, which leads me to Dennis Kucinich, as a logical progression, I think. I begin to think the testosterone shortage is ubiquitous until I get a load of Jessie Ventura. He could be the real deal if he doesn’t turn into a TV personality to the extent he forgets what he came here for.
Alex Jones is not a good guy and neither is Noam Chomsky. I used to think that Chicago prosecutor might be good guy but apparently not. Back in the day, I thought Bill Clinton was a good guy, just to show you what a Holden Caulfield sort of callow youth I was. When he got chummy with George, (Hail Satan!), Bush Senior, I got the message. I mostly think Jimmy Carter is a good guy but everyone stops short of telling it like it is and most of you who read here and at the other fine emporiums of what’s actually going on, know what it’s all short of. I’m not obliquely referring to Kucinich here so, don’t think that. Get it? Never mind, cue Randy Newman.

California Jews Shake Down Mel Gibson For Reparations
Does it ever end? Get a load of this…
Congregation Beth Shalom in Corona, California has sent Mel Gibson a letter in hopes of guilting him into forking over some cash to bail them out of a bad investment they made on their local synagogue. Apparently, the group took out a giant loan that they can’t afford to pay back and are now facing foreclosure.
In a move reminiscent of something out of post-war Germany, the Southern California synagogue is looking to Gibson as though he should pay some kind of “Holocaust” style reparations for the so-called anti-Semitic tirade he made back in 2006.
I guess it’s not enough that Mel has already spent millions of dollars contributing to Jewish charities, including $5 million to the Jewish Cedars Sinai Hospital. Not to mention getting down on his knees and apologizing to the Jewish community on numerous occassions—only to have his career railroaded anyway.
Entertainment website TMZ apparently got their hands on the letter. Here’s what it says:
“Our proposal to you, Mr. Gibson, is since you have been cited as an Anti-Semitic, and have denied those allegations, what better way to prove to all your fans and the nay Sayers — than to endorse and help raise funds for our cause — SOS, Save Our Synagogue…“Mr. Gibson, we offer you to be a Mensch and make a sizable contribution to our cause.”
That’s what you call CHUTZPAH, folks!
Congregation Beth Shalom is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism and, as a Reform synagogue, strives to help Jews and their families live Jewish lives, rich in the traditions of our people.California Jews Shake Down Mel Gibson For Reparations

Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey visited Sunday the Yad Vashem Holocaust History Museum in Jerusalem, accompanied by IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz and US Ambassador to Israel Dan Shapiro.
During his visit, Dempsey lit the memorial "Eternal Flame" torch and laid a wreath at the Yizkor tent. The US general stated that the US will work together with Israel to make sure that such atrocities never happen again.
Dempsey also signed the Yad Vashem guest book, writing that his country is committed to the protection of Israel and will do everything to prevent such a human tragedy from reoccurring.
Earlier, the general visited the IDF's headquarters in Tel Aviv, where he met with Gantz and Defense Minister Ehud Barak.
Later on Sunday, Dempsey met with President Shimon Peres and told him that the United States is honored to have Israel as a partner. Peres noted that the struggle against Iran's nuclear program is not only Israel's and the United States' struggle – but an international struggle for the safety of all nations."Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Martin Dempsey visited Sunday the Yad Vashem... more

Cass Sunstein wrote a paper in 2008 advocating thought and speech control through goverment enforcement titled Conspiracy Theories: Causes and Cures.
In it, Sunstein recommends a number of bizarre ways in which the government could "ban conspiracy theories including “infiltrating” social network websites, chat rooms and message boards; called "cognitive infiltration,”
The find comes as a government document reportedly relates the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s command center routinely monitors dozens of popular websites, including Facebook, Twitter, Hulu, WikiLeaks and news sites including the Huffington Post and Drudge Report.
Sunstein said government agents “might enter chat rooms, online social networks, or even real-space groups and attempt to undermine percolating conspiracy theories by raising doubts about their factual premises, causal logic or implications for political action.”
Sunstein defined a conspiracy theory as “an effort to explain some event or practice by reference to the machinations of powerful people, who have also managed to conceal their role.”
Some “conspiracy theories” recommended for ban by Sunstein include:
•“Holocaust denial"
•“Anti-Israel sentiments"
•“9/11 Truth"
•“The theory of global warming is a deliberate fraud”
•“The view that the Central Intelligence Agency was responsible for the assassination of President John F. Kennedy”
•“The 1996 crash of TWA flight 800 was caused by a U.S. military missile”
•“The Trilateral Commission is responsible for important movements of the international economy”

Posing a rhetorical question, Netanyahu asked "how does the world react to the calls for genocide against the Jews today?"
"Seventy years after the shoa, Iran is calling for us to be wiped off the map, Hezbollah is calling for our extinction, as are many in Hamas... The Jerusalem Mufti [Sheikh Muhammad Hussein] called on Sunday for Jews to be killed wherever they are...echoing his predecessor Haj Amin Al Husseini, who actively helped Hitler and Eichman," he said.
"I do not hear the international community condemning this. I hear them condemning buildings in the West Bank. But I don't hear them condemning this incitement," said Netanyahu.
Netanyahu stated that one of the primary roles of the United Nations is to prevent genocide, singling out China, India, and South Korea as countries that must strongly support robust sanctions against Tehran. "The Iranian regime is calling for and working towards wiping Israel off the map. Its proxies Hezbollah and Hamas have fired over 12,000 rockets against us," he said. "Both we, as well as the international community, must internalize the lessons of the Holocaust, and must work actively against this threat."
Speaking immediately after Netanyahu, opposition leader Tzipi Livni (Kadima) said that Israel is proud of the Holocaust survivors.Posing a rhetorical question, Netanyahu asked "how does the world react to the... more

The same neocon hawks who lied us into Iraq are using the ultimate argument-stopper to push war with Iran
We’ve been through this before. As one of the most disastrous wars in our history is coming to an inglorious end, the same neoconservative hawks who dreamed it up are agitating for a new war that would make Iraq look like the invasion of Grenada — and using the ultimate trump card in American politics to silence debate over it.
o listen to the neocons and hawks, you’d think Hitler was about to send the tanks over the Polish border. Former U.S. ambassador and Dr. Strangelove impersonator John Bolton said, “The only alternative now is the potential for a pre-emptive military strike against their military program, either by the United States or Israel. Diplomacy has failed. Sanctions have failed.” For Bolton, Iran is the second coming of Nazi Germany: “If the choice is them continuing [towards a nuclear bomb] or the use of force, I think you’re at a Hitler marching into the Rhineland point … We’re still in 1936, but not for long.”
The Holocaust mind-set
But the most nakedly coercive use of the Holocaust was made by GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich (whose trustworthiness in foreign policy matters can be judged by the fact that he criticized the Bush State Department for not cooking its intelligence to support the Iraq war). “I don’t think the United States has the moral right to say to a country whose people who have already gone through one Holocaust – two nuclear weapons is another Holocaust,” said in 2006. “And Iran is racing to arm itself with atomic bombs.” In language virtually identical to Goldberg’s, Netanyahu said that while the Iranian president “denies the Holocaust, he is preparing another Holocaust for the Jewish state.”
“We will always remember what the Nazi Amalek did to us,” Netanyahu said at a 2010 Holocaust remembrance service at Auschwitz, “and we won’t forget to be prepared for the new Amalek, who is making an appearance on the stage of history and once again threatening to destroy the Jews.”The same neocon hawks who lied us into Iraq are using the ultimate argument-stopper to... more

Another for the dumbest story of the week.
Al Qaeda tells Iran's President Ahmadinejad to stop questioning 9/11. That's funny because the US government doesn't want anyone questioning 9/11 either.
"Al Qaeda" wants the world to know that they did the attacks and that it wasn't a government conspiracy.
***
Terrorist organisation's magazine reportedly says it is 'ridiculous' for Iran's president to blame the attacks on the US government
Al-Qaida has sent a message to the Iranian president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, asking him to stop spreading conspiracy theories about the 9/11 attacks.
Iranian media on Wednesday reported quotes from what appears to be an article published in the latest issue of the al-Qaida English language magazine, Inspire, which described Ahmadinejad's remarks over the 11 September attacks as "ridiculous".
"The Iranian government has professed on the tongue of its president Ahmadinejad that it does not believe that al-Qaida was behind 9/11 but rather, the US government," the article said, according to Iranian media. "So we may ask the question: why would Iran ascribe to such a ridiculous belief that stands in the face of all logic and evidence?"
The al-Qaida article insisted it had been behind the attacks and criticised the Iranian president for discrediting the terrorist group.
"For them, al-Qaida was a competitor for the hearts and minds of the disenfranchised Muslims around the world," said the article published in the Inspire magazine. "Al-Qaida … succeeded in what Iran couldn't. Therefore it was necessary for the Iranians to discredit 9/11 and what better way to do so? Conspiracy theories."Another for the dumbest story of the week.

Let me tell you the news that should astound you and every other American taxpayer.
Right now—when millions of Americans, young and old alike, have no healthcare insurance or otherwise have insurance that hardly pays their medical bills—two members of Congress from Florida, Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D) and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R), have introduced a bill that will provide privileged taxpayer-financed healthcare for Jewish “Holocaust survivors” living in America, who are estimated to be 127,000 in number.
Their legislation, H.R. 2786, titled the “Holocaust Survivors Assistance Act of 2011,” would “amend the Older Americans Act of 1965 to provide social service agencies with the resources to provide services to meet the unique needs of Holocaust survivors to age in place with dignity, comfort, security and quality of life.”
What this high-sounding rhetoric means is that, according to The Jerusalem Post ofAug. 5, “Holocaust survivors in the U.S. will receive federal funds designed to help them age at home, rather than having to move to an institution.”
The Jewish Telegraph Agency stated onAug. 3, “The bill would give Holocaust survivors preference in obtaining aging services.”The Jewish Federations of North America said the bill “strengthens agencies that support Holocaust survivors who wish to age in place rather than move into institutionalized care, which can often lead to retraumatization for these victims of terror and torture.”
The bill asserts: “As victims of terror and torture, these survivors have special needs to age in place in their communities. Institutionalized settings have a disproportionate adverse effect on Holocaust survivors, as these environments reintroduce the sights, sounds and routines of institutionalization that are reminiscent of experiences during the Holocaust.”
In other words, alleged Holocaust survivors shouldn’t have to stay in hospitals or nursing homes because such places supposedly remind them of concentration camps.Let me tell you the news that should astound you and every other American taxpayer.... more

A 91 year old "Nazi," retired Ohio autoworker John Demjanjuk was convicted of thousands of counts of acting as an accessory to murder at a Nazi death camp and sentenced on Thursday to five years in prison.
There was no evidence Demjanjuk committed a specific crime. The prosecution was based on the THEORY that if Demjanjuk was at the camp, he was a participant in the killing - the first time such a legal argument has been made in German courts.
Note: In 1993, the Israeli Supreme Court acquitted him of all war crimes charges and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit ruled that the Office of Special Investigations, the Justice Department's Nazi-hunting unit, had committed fraud upon the court by withholding exculpatory evidence in the case.A 91 year old "Nazi," retired Ohio autoworker John Demjanjuk was convicted... more

Like a recurring nightmare, the Anti-Defamation League is back, this time with over 100 billboards in Greater Boston promoting the group’s “anti-bullying” program. As we’ll see, the real bully is the national ADL.
Recall that a few years ago the ADL’s alleged anti-bias program, “No Place for Hate,” was tossed out (NoPlaceforDenial.com) by Watertown, Arlington, Bedford, Belmont, Easton, Lexington, Medford, Needham, Newburyport, Newton, Northampton, Peabody, Somerville, Westwood, and the Massachusetts Municipal Association.
It has long conspired with Turkey – which bullies its ethnic and religious minorities, journalists, and dissidents – to deny the Armenian genocide of 1915-23 committed by Turkey, and to bully Congress into not bringing an Armenian genocide resolution to a fair vote.
The ADL, of course, promotes Holocaust recognition and reacts vociferously against perceived acts of anti-Semitism. Yet it displays gross insensitivity by collaborating with a major human rights violator, Turkey, to block recognition of another ethnic group’s genocide. Can such an organization be trusted to design humane, fact-based programs, whether about anti-bullying or called “No Place for Hate”? The answer is obvious.
And suppose a school system adopts the ADL’s alleged anti-bullying curriculum. Sooner or later, students and parents will discover that it was created by a group that doesn’t practice what it preaches. Duplicity is not a value that schools should be teaching.
Let’s be frank: The ADL has a political agenda. Fortunately, since every Massachusetts school district was required to adopt an anti-bullying curriculum by January 1, the state has many fine such programs that, unlike the ADL’s, aren’t politically motivated.Like a recurring nightmare, the Anti-Defamation League is back, this time with over... more

Members of a Norwegian lawmaker's own party have called for his resignation after he publicly denied the Holocaust.
Labor Party lawmaker Anders Mathisen reportedly told the Finnmarken newspaper that the Holocaust never happened and challenged readers to prove him wrong.
“There is no evidence the gas chambers or mass graves existed," he told the newspaper, according to reports. "Even reputable Holocaust historians have admitted it cannot be established.”
Mathisen reportedly has accused Holocaust survivors of exaggerating their stories. He also said that the public has been brainwashed into believing in the Holocaust by films such as "Schindler's List," according to the forum.

NEW YORK (AP) – A New York City parent says he mistakenly sent out an e-mail about a book questioning the Holocaust to a PTA list instead of another group he belongs to.
The New York Times reports that the Jan. 16 e-mail was sent by Michael Santomauro, whose son is a third grader at P.S. 290 in Manhattan. It said: “You should read this book! It is rocking my world!”
Santomauro told the Times he realized his error after two parents complained. He apologized to them.
He said he intended the e-mail for members of a group that debates whether accounts of the Holocaust are exaggerated.
School Principal Sharon Hill wrote to the school’s parents. She said neither the school or the PTA support Santomauro’s views.
