Missing men last seen with Florida cop, Steve Calkins. Video reports on two missing men in Florida who were last seen with the same sheriff's deputy.
The disappearance of Felipe Santos and Terrance Williams. Both missing from Naples Florida under suspicious circumstances.
Without a trace, but strangely similar Two men disappear. Each was last known to be with the same police officer. At the least, it's "a coincidence in the extreme."
The fact that it's taken 8 years to even begin the process of investigating these disappearances is just more evidence of the disrespect paid to men and women of color each and every f*cking day.

WWH Most people hear runaway and aren’t concerned. They assume the child left on their own, that they are safe and don’t need to be found or searched for. Even law enforcement most times doesn’t feel the urgency in locating them. It seems if the child is not tragically abducted or vanish with a parent who has been deemed unfit then nobody cares. Does anyone ever ask how this plays out realistically? Take off your rose colored glasses for a few seconds and try to understand what is really happening.WWH Most people hear runaway and aren’t concerned. They assume the child left on... more

Human Trafficking is global, insidious crime. Everyday a child, a woman, a man is sold into slavery- whether for work, drugs, or for sex, it is happening all around us. Even to families we know. One young woman has been rescued from her years of captivity by a brave champion, Dottie Laster of Laster Global, Inc. To commemorate the 6 month anniversary of her freedom, and to bring about awareness, I present here today, FREEDOM IN CHAINS, a short story. Blinders off.

WWH-My name is Ashani – Ashani Karin Creighton and I’m missing!
I was five years old when I last lived with my Mother in New York. I went to go visit my grandmother and she lived far away. There were other kids there and my grandpa. But, I missed my mommy really bad. I think I made grandma mad at me. I was scared. It was always so dark. I just wanted to go home. Grandma said no. One day everyone was excited and there were boxes and stuff everywhere. I think we were moving. I didn’t feel so good though.WWH-My name is Ashani – Ashani Karin Creighton and I’m missing!

An astounding 2300 Americans go missing every single day. This to me is a staggering amount of people unaccounted for. We tend to discount it and not think twice when a man goes missing. Somewhere in the back of our minds, we believe and tell ourselves that men can fend for themselves. But, this is not the case, considering about half of missing persons are men. They just don’t take precedence in media coverage. We tend to discount it and not think twice when a man goes missing. 14 members of 'cult-like' group missing
Six adults and eight children of a "cult-like" group in southern California were reported missing Saturday after they left behind notes saying they were going to meet Jesus and dead relatives, authorities say
Police: Missing 'cult-like' group may have plans for mass suicide
By the CNN Wire Staff
September 19, 2010 3:32 a.m. EDT
Members of a church group led by Reyna Chicas were reported missing amid fears they may be planning to take their own lives.
Los Angeles, California (CNN) -- A "cult-like" group of 14 Salvadorans -- including eight children -- is missing in southern California after leaving behind notes indicating plans to commit a mass suicide, authorities said.
The six boys and two girls in the group are ages 3 to 17, said Steve Whitmore, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
"The letters essentially state that they [missing persons] are all going to heaven shortly to meet Jesus and their deceased relatives," the California governor's office said. "Numerous letters found say goodbye to their relatives. It is believed, through further investigation, that the missing persons' intentions are to commit mass suicide."
Investigators issued an alert Saturday night asking for assistance in locating the group from Palmdale.
The alert was issued after two husbands of church members reported them missing, the governor's office said in a statement.
Though the notes did not mention suicide, the outcome seems like a strong possibility, Whitmore said.
The group is traveling in three vehicles -- a 2004 Nissan Quest, a 1995 Mercury Villager and a remodeled Toyota Tundra, according to Whitmore.
The group was reported missing Saturday afternoon -- after it held a prayer meeting.
"They left behind personal belongings and written notes ... [saying] they're going to see dead relatives and Jesus," Whitmore said.
Items left behind include deeds to homes and cash, indicating "that someone is leaving it behind," Whitmore said.
The spokesman issued a televised plea to the group.
"If you're watching this, come home," Whitmore said. "Come home alive to the people who care for you."
Anyone with information is urged to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
CNN's Ninette Sosa and Rick Martin contributed to this report.

NEW ORLEANS—An explosion rocked an offshore oil drilling platform, sending a column of fire into the sky and touching off a frantic search at sea Wednesday for 11 missing workers.
Most of the 126 workers on the rig Deepwater Horizon escaped safely after the explosion about 10 p.m. Tuesday, the Coast Guard said. Three were critically injured.
The rig, more than 50 miles southeast of Venice on Louisiana's tip, was still burning Wednesday afternoon. It was tilting about 10 degrees. There was no estimate of when the flames might be out.
Helicopters and boats searched the Gulf of Mexico for any sign of the workers who had not been accounted for.

Do you know who Andrew Koenig is? Maybe not by name, but if you've ever watched an episode of Growing Pains, then chances are you are familiar with his claim to fame.
Koenig played Mike Seaver's (Kirk Cameron) best friend "Boner" on the show, and in an unfortunate turn of events Koenig has been missing since a trip to visit friends in Vancouver on February 14th. It's been reported that the actor was suffering from depression, and several of the actor's friends have been posting about their concern via Facebook and Twitter.
I discovered this while monitoring Google Trends. I noticed that "growing pains actor missing" was trending, alongside several mentions of Andrew Koenig. While news of his disappearance is concerning, it did lead me to another Andrew Koenig, with an absolutely remarkable story of his own.
Around the same time Koenig the actor was last seen by friends in Vancouver, another Andrew Koenig experienced a stroke of luck nearly unheard of in his line of work. Koenig is actually Lance Cpl. Andrew Koenig in the Marines, and more specifically he's a sniper fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
On Monday February 15th, Lance Cpl. Koenig was shot in the helmet by an insurgent Taliban sniper while defending an outpost near Marjah. Luckily for him, the bullet bounced right off of his helmet, and he walked away unscathed. It's one of those things that is seemingly unbelievable, but it happened. Check out his remarkable story for more details and photos.
I'm posting this because these two stories are seemingly interconnected, even if just married by the coincidence of a first and last name. It's amazing how things sync-up from time to time. While I deeply hope that Andrew Koenig, the actor, is found safe and sound, I also want to be certain that others were able to read about Lance Cpl. Andrew Koenig's amazing brush with death while fighting in Afghanistan.Do you know who Andrew Koenig is? Maybe not by name, but if you've ever watched... more

A Virginia Tech college student, Morgan Harrington went missing after attending a Metallica concert. After the concert, she got separated from her friends and no one has seen her since.
