Fashion is a kind of romance, to me, and when I see a piece of clothing I want to feel something, like I do with a great painting. The best designers conjure up emotions on the runway – and the best brands hook me a second time by conjuring up even more emotions with their brand name, their about page, their purpose.
“Cri de Coeur is a French expression that translates literally to “cry from the heart.” To us, it symbolizes our heartfelt desire to change the face of the fashion footwear and accessory markets by providing stylish, contemporary products that are ethically produced from start to finish. The choices we make as designers, manufacturers and consumers can have an enormous impact on the lives of animals, humans and our environment, while not compromising on style. Our mission is to help ethical fashion saturate the future market of retail by exciting a dialogue that will demand that these ideals be met industry-wide – because the planet and its inhabitants depend on it.” – Cri de Coeur About Page
Yep. Hooked.

1- This is a zinc oxide sunscreen by Elemental Herbs, almost all the other ingredients are organic and it's simply one of the best zinc oxide sunscreens I've seen. It has absolutely no other active ingredients (oxybenzone-free, titanium dioxide-free, etc). And they have organic sports sunscreen and organic baby and kids sunscreen. This sunscreen offers broad UVA/UVB protection with herbal benefits of skin rejuvenation. It is biodegradable and safe for kids' skin.

How a mistake venturing down to the Lower East side of Manhattan in a heatwave, buying a bra from a ghetto bra shop owned by a nutty Orthodox couple, and then the misfortune of a blackout caused havoc that left 2 gals walking for 3 hours across town and wondering what the price for a good over the shoulder boulder holder was!How a mistake venturing down to the Lower East side of Manhattan in a heatwave, buying... more

Every Monday is the “Wish List,” a blog entry dedicated to one online shopping site where a dream outfit is compiled editorial style from the site. This week pieces pieces include a $2000 clutch (wow!) and $800 shoes! Intrigued? Check it out.
The blogger is a magazine editor so the page is like her dream editorial spread as if she had complete creative rights without any Editor cutting her off! She gives you a great history about the brand, a little story about the look she compiled and then picks the outfit based on the theme of the spread adding captions explaining each item she’s chosen. Really fun and unique. This week it’s classic Ralph Lauren and she has chosen a Black Tie cashmere gown (open back with chains dangling-tres sexy) that would make any celebrity envious and make the room stop if you walked in. Ralph Lauren is all about classic elegance and our blogger has captured his essence with collection pieces that will stand the test of time and make you look as elegant has his clothing.
Really fun fashion page that shows off trends in a really eclectic way. Blogger has an amazingly eclectic site with everything from beauty, fashion, diary style entries, poetry, life in the magazine world----this girl has everything. Already winner of the prestigious “Blog Of The Day Award” (some people take years to earn this—she’s only had her blog up 6 weeks!) and on top level blog rolls of awesome bloggers, this girl is amazing. This week it’s the cutting edge label MARNI and she has chosen a to die for duster jacket that is a unique take on the trench (it almost looks hand painted), killer heels, 1950’s lingerie, and much, much more!

Shopping is really fun when you don’t have to actually spend any money, right? This magazine editor has a bit of fun and does the online shopping for you as if she were going to the soiree herself, but sadly, can’t buy the pieces. But, maybe YOU can! Last week she rocked http://www.oneof365.com/category/qvc/ (and it was amazing if you can believe it!) and this week it’s Frenchconnection.com. The look is “artdeco/boho chic” and she’s picked out a glam look that’s sleek and sweet—perfect for night to day transition. She gives you a great excellent styling tips, and puts together an amazing outfit you can buy online right now. She has zero affiliation with any of the sites she “shops” from so this isn’t her hocking the goods, it’s just her having a bit of fun as a magazine editor.

Being an archaeologist is much more than being able to find the next big piece of history; it's about being fashionable while you do it.
The metal detector sandals from creators Hammacher Schlemmer, allow budding discoverers to feel the vibrations and buzzes from the anklet pack whenever they step over a metal object as low as 2 feet beneath the surface.Being an archaeologist is much more than being able to find the next big piece of... more

Summer is finally here, but according to new research out today sunshine is not enough to lift the population’s spirits with three quarters (72 per cent) of UK workers admitting they feel seriously stressed on a daily basis. Fortunately the antidote is close at hand – or more specifically at feet – with 81 per cent saying that a simple walk in the park makes them feel instantly relaxed.
Krispy Kreme questioned over 1,000 UK workers and found that over half (53 per cent) of urbanites believe their stress levels are affected by a lack of contact with Mother Nature. In response to the problem Krispy Kreme has created the world’s first grass flip-flops to bring summer magic to the city – giving stressed out workers a (literal) spring in their step by creating an instant grassy park underneath their feet regardless of their urban location.
The al fresco flip-flops take up to three weeks to grow and each shoe is covered with over 5,000 blades of grass. If watered regularly the unique footwear can remain in season for over four months – meaning they are the perfect, head-turning summer-accessory for stressed-out men and women.
Katie McDermott from Krispy Kreme comments:
“There’s currently a lot of uncertainty in the city so what better way to escape the concrete jungle than by slipping on a pair of grass flip-flops and walking around in your own mobile meadow. We cheer people up every day with our one of a kind doughnuts, but hopefully by providing them with their own part of park life too we’ll be able to bring a sense of natural calm to stressed-out workers.”
The free-range footwear is currently being given out to London commuters with a view to nationwide distribution.Summer is finally here, but according to new research out today sunshine is not enough... more
