Incest cellar monster Josef Fritzl has admitted rape but denied murder in what has been described as Austria's trial of the century.
The 73-year-old from Amstetten is also charged with imprisonment, incest and slavery at the courtroom in St. Pölten.
He is accused of keeping his daughter in captivity in the cellar of his house for 24 years and raping her more than a thousand times.
The daughter, who has since changed her identity, gave birth to seven children in the windowless dungeon, six of whom survived.
Fritzl only partly pleaded guilty to rape which according to the BBC means he will contest the wording of the charge.

With his soft sparkling eyes and modest build, 35-year-old German composer and clarinetist Jorg Widmann hardly looks like a man who wants to put a trumpet player through soloist hell.
Yet that's what the young Munich native, who is making a name for himself as one of the best in a fast-rising new generation of German composers, did when the BBC Symphony gave the British premiere in 2007 of his 13-minute piece "Ad Absurdum" for orchestra and trumpet soloist. With his soft sparkling eyes and modest build, 35-year-old German composer and... more
