Warning: "Puss in Boots" PG-rated Kids Movie has overt bestiality sub-plot, but you know, it's just harmless fun from the filth who run Hollyood.
***
As usual in the media today, the male lead to female lead relationship was way over-sexualized.
Most objectionable, however, was the "side" sub-plot relationship between the male and female "evil" characters. After accomplishing several evil type actions, these two shady characters were conversing, and the male says to the female that he wants to cut down on such evil acts and have a family.
She doesn't want to have children but instead offers that he could have a child / sex with the hogs in their cellar of their covered wagon.
A short while later in the story, again in a sub-plot context aside from the main plot, the shady female figure is cooing a baby pig in a swaddling cloth in her arms, and says to her male counterpart, "Oh, he looks just like you!"
In a PG-rated movie for kids!!!
As it is a subplot and those conversation bits go by quickly, I venture that most people will miss them. However, those bits are there. They act subliminally. They were not cut by the director / producer. They have not been commented on that I could locate online. So, this agenda against the family and against decency is apparently being forwarded without question.Warning: "Puss in Boots" PG-rated Kids Movie has overt bestiality sub-plot,... more

"Let’s get the obvious out of the way right here and right now – a movie about giant robot boxers and the people who control them was not made to change the world and win every award in sight. It’s a simple family sports movie, frankensteined together from other sports and family movies that have come before it, slickly made and fairly entertaining, and in that regards, it’s a success of a film. It’ll thrill children, it’s cool enough for the teenagers, and most parents won’t be bored by the movie’s energy. For what it set out to do, Real Steel totally succeeds."

"Real Steel" is "Rocky" with robots that look like"Transformers," managed by a "Raging Bull" washout in need of a "Cinderella Man" comeback that's complicated by "The Champ" and "Paper Moon" sorts of parent-child issues, with a sweet bit of "Wall-E"-styled scrap metal who never pulls his punches. Perhaps "Reel Steal" would be the better title."Real Steel" is "Rocky" with robots that look... more

"Marcus Nispel has seemingly come out of nowhere to forge a career as a maker of dismal remakes of classic films. It started with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in 2003, a depressing and nihilistic reworking of the seminal 1970’s horror flick, and happened again with the 2009 Friday the 13th, another dreary and unimaginative remake of a 1980’s classic. And now, in the foul year of our Lord 2011, Marcus Nispel makes it a trifecta of pointless and horrible remakes with his re-do of Conan the Barbarian."

Both Vin Diesel and Johnson have followed the same career trajectory in starting out in action films, moving over to family comedies which did well, and then they continued making them (obviously making their agents happy for the short term), but then suddenly their careers seemed to just disappear. Both Vin Diesel and Johnson have followed the same career trajectory in starting out... more

[ I SUSPECT the harshest critics of Sucker Punch might have missed the point altogether.
Is it misogynistic? No, I don't think it is.
Is it a clever commentary on the sexist fanboys who routinely fail to see any deeper meaning beyond the boobs? Most definitely. ]
also
[ The story's true "sucker punch" is the way it lures its audience in with the promise of simple eye candy but then hits you in the guts with something deeper and more complex. ]
and
[ Zack Snyder, I see what you did there.]
- editorial comment - "RIGHTOUS" ! I give this review a good review ! HUZZAH !

REVIEW ( o Y 2 )
from - "Snowy Entertainment"
excerpts -
[ If you sum up the plot for Sucker Punch, it's pretty much about a girl in a mental institute... and that's what Sucker Punch is, a very sick and confused little child. ]
and
[ Sucker Punch, like all of Zack Snyder's films, is not your average Hollywood film. It has all the elements to be an Hollywood film, lots of action, weak characters, horrible acting,
- boobies,-
but some how it's something a little different. ]
[ You never really know if the people behind the film are really intelligent or just really
- stupid.-
There are multiple scenes in the movie with very strange action sequences. ]
( . . . .this review is less favorable,....but I believe the unwashed uneducated peasant classes are more likely to react THIS way . . . . [ kidding ] )
[ Sucker Punch is an great experiment. It tries to do stuff other movies never do like explaining half the film though visuals and not dialogue, but the sad thing is that it also wants to be a movie at the same time. ]

I have written a few hubs about my experiences living in Tonga. Just tonight I returned from our weekly Friday date night where my hubby and I saw True Grit . I was impressed with the actors in this remake of an oldie but goodie that originally starred John Wayne for which he won an Oscar. I think Jeff Bridges could just as well win an Oscar for his portrayal of Rooster. It brought back many memories of our years living in Tonga where we saw mostly Western and Asian movies.I have written a few hubs about my experiences living in Tonga. Just tonight I... more
