Dictators will take any measure to control people and resources for their personal gain; power and money. In most cases, they are ruthless and they will not hesitate to butcher anyone who might stand up against them. That is why most developing or underdeveloped country, such as Bangladesh has huge issue with poverty, human rights, freedom and democracy. Recent attack and coverup in Bangladesh is nothing new, the head terrorist government official,Sheik Hasiina got so desperate to coverup the mess she made by using one group of soldiers to assassinate another group of soldiers, that she decided to ban website such as you-tube and other sharing sites where citizens were sharing their concern and was practicing their freedom.

In deed, History repeats itself because we allow it to repeat.

In Germany, Hitler used his military power to kill millions of innocent Jewish Citizens, In Iraq, Saddam Hussein and His sons used military power to kill hundreds and thousands of innocent Iraqis, and In Bangladesh, Sheik Hasiina and her son using military power to assassinate innocent Bangladeshi Citizens.

The way U.S. and its Allies demolished Hitler, dismantle horrific army and took down the statue of Saddam Hussein in Iraq, there needs a similar steps to be taken in Bangladesh, otherwise Bangladesh will be the new breeding ground for a new kind of Ta-le-bans. We should really be clear about the meaning of democracy especially when we are speaking to dictators like Saddam Hussein, Sheik Hasiina or elsewhere people like them. They have gotten so used to terrorizing people, they do not realize that people are human beings, everyone is born with freedom, and there should be limit to how much control you should have over your people. If a ruler is running a country, he or she should meet qualifications and requirements to run a country; just because your father or mother was a dictator ruler doesn't mean you should follow their lead. Nonetheless, democracy can only prevail, if other democratic nations deter people like Hitler, Saddam or Hasiina from violence and terrrorism.

The moral of the story is that, all the Democratic Nations around the world should stand up against the current dictator in Bangladesh for the welfare of Innocent people in Bangladesh.

The Climate Change Refugees of Bangladesh

One by one, the men in Gaurpodomando's family walked out of this mud-caked village and never returned.

First, his uncles went. Both fishermen, they suffered as their catch declined year after year, before they crossed illegally into India to find work in construction. His brothers earned so little fishing that they braved tiger attacks in the nearby Sundarbans forest to forage for honey and timber. Finally, they left, too, and brought their father with them.

Now, Gaurpodomando, who said he is about 35 years old and who goes only by his first name, is the last man in his family still living in the waterlogged village along Bangladesh's Indian border.

His brothers still don't know about the angry tidal flood that burst through a dam and swallowed the family home and dozens of others in September. Those who live here say that between the disappearing fish, brackish floodwaters destroying the rice fields and the ever-fiercer cyclones that seem to inhale entire villages, life is becoming almost unbearable.

But Gaurpodomando, who earns the equivalent of $1.50 a day standing hip-deep in the salty river casting a net to collect shrimp fry, said he is doing everything he can to hang onto his way of life.

"I do feel a little lonely and sad, but I don't really want to go to India," he said, squatting on the outdoor stoop of what was once the family kitchen but is now the only structure left to shelter him, his wife and their two children. His arms and bare feet are streaked with the slate-gray mud that covers the ground and seems never to dry.

"I don't want to leave this place," Gaurpodomando said. "I don't want to leave this country. I love this place."

One day soon, Gaurpodomando and an untold number of others in Bangladesh and around the world may no longer have a choice.

A growing body of evidence, including analyses from military experts in the United States and Europe, supports the estimate that by midcentury, climate change will make vast parts of Africa and Asia uninhabitable. Analysts say it could trigger a migration the size of which the world has never before seen.

Bangladesh: where warming hits hard

Of all of the effects of climate change, sea level rise may pose the most pervasive challenge for Bangladesh. Nearly the entire country is a vast, flat delta, where even a modest climb in the height of the Bay of Bengal could push water deep inland if it weren't for the protective barriers along the coast.

After being fairly stable for a couple of thousand years, sea levels have crept up about 20 centimetres since the mid-1800s. For the coming century, the 2007 IPCC report talks about sea level rise in centimetres — to be precise, 18 to 59 centimetres. But most climate scientists agree these estimates are too conservative, as they overlook the ways glaciers and ice sheets can slip, crack and calve off icebergs to dump increasing amounts of ice into the oceans. Now that researchers are watching this happen and beginning to understand these processes, known as glacial dynamics, some are predicting much larger increases in sea levels.

We are nature's laboratory on disasters. We don't have volcanoes. But any other natural disaster you think of, we have it.

To get a rough upper limit on how far sea levels could rise, glaciologist Tad Pfeffer of the University of Colorado at Boulder and colleagues recently calculated the effects of all the world's glaciers and ice sheets flowing at very high but plausible speeds. By 2100, they figured, sea levels are likely to rise by 0.8 metres, and possibly as much as 2 metres4.

But climatologist James Hansen of the NASA Goddard Institute of Space Studies, for one, argues that more extreme changes could be in store. Hansen says it is possible that continuing to burn fossil fuels at current rates would raise sea level several metres by the end of the century5, because seas have risen several metres per century in the ancient past while being warmed less rapidly than the ocean is by man-made greenhouse gases today.

"We don't really have an upper limit [on sea level rise], but we can talk about it sensibly in terms of likely magnitudes," says Richard Alley, a glaciologist at Pennsylvania State University. "No one really believes we can destroy an ice sheet in mere decades — at least centuries would be required based on what we know about ice flow." But with Pfeffer's estimates, "you probably have enough information to calibrate your fear of flooding," says Alley.

What is certain is that even if people stopped emitting greenhouse gases in the next few decades, Bangladesh would still be committed to coping with sea level rise for centuries3. Jim Hansen is the 'grandfather of climate change' and one of the world's leading climatologists. In this rare interview in New York, he explains why President Obama's administration is the last chance to avoid flooded cities, species extinction and climate catastrophe

"I have been described as the grandfather of climate change. In fact, I am just a grandfather and I do not want my grandchildren to say that grandpa understood what was happening but didn't make it clear," Hansen said last week. Hence his warning to Barack Obama, who will be inaugurated as US president on Tuesday. His four-year administration offers the world a last chance to get things right, Hansen said. If it fails, global disaster - melted sea caps, flooded cities, species extinctions and spreading deserts - awaits mankind.

"We cannot now afford to put off change any longer. We have to get on a new path within this new administration. We have only four years left for Obama to set an example to the rest of the world. America must take the lead."

After eight years of opposing moves to combat climate change, thanks to the policies of President George Bush, the US had given itself no time for manoeuvre, he said. Only drastic, immediate change can save the day and those changes proposed by Hansen - who appeared in Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth and is a winner of the World Wildlife Fund's top conservation award - are certainly far-reaching. In particular, the idea of continuing with "cap-and-trade" schemes, which allow countries to trade allowances and permits for emitting carbon dioxide, must now be scrapped, he insisted. Such schemes, encouraged by the Kyoto climate treaty, were simply "weak tea" and did not work. "The United States did not sign Kyoto, yet its emissions are not that different from the countries that did sign it."

Thus plans to include carbon trading schemes in talks about future climate agreements were a desperate error, he said. "It's just greenwash. Abandoned at Sea

Around early December, in eastern Bangladesh, hundreds of people boarded a few rickety wooden boats and embarked on a journey they thought would convey them to a better life. They would land perhaps on Thailand's southwestern coast, and then seek work there or in the Muslim promised land of Malaysia. On Dec. 28, 98 of them were found drifting by India's remote Andaman islands, starving and dehydrated, a picture of the hardship weathered by generations of boat people fleeing adversity only to fall into even greater trials.

Reports trickling out in recent weeks from various countries lining the Andaman Sea have related portions of this ordeal as well as other similar incidents involving the same ethnic group. But the tale of one survivor has emerged that, if accurate, paints a picture of a dehumanizing odyssey, portraying the actions of surrounding governments in horrific tones. The man's name is Muzaffar and his testimony was obtained over cell phone from his place of temporary detention in India by the Arakan Project, a Bangkok-based group advocating the rights of these boat people. Muzaffar's account appears to amplify other published reports — except with greater detail. He said that Thai security forces first forcibly detained him and hundreds of other refugees offshore, and then towed them back into international waters in a motorless barge, where they were at the mercy of the shark-infested sea. Over 300 people who were with Muzaffar are missing; they are all believed to be dead.

These refugees were subject to such treatment, in part, because few will defend them. Muzaffar, whose full name is being withheld by the Arakan Project, is a member of the Rohingya community, a Muslim ethnic group living in abysmal conditions on the margins of Burma and Bangladesh. Some 800,000 Rohingya, who look South Asian, remain in western Burma, where they are denied citizenship and most rights by the military-run government; about 200,000 eke out an existence in squalid refugee camps across the border in Bangladesh. A scattered, quiet diaspora scratches at the fringe of society in countries as far flung as Saudi Arabia and Indonesia.
