Have you ever wondered why, beyond just shaking your head and thinking “what assholes” do Conservative Republicans always use fear mongering tactics and multiple warnings of looming threats to get their “point” across the American people?
Conservative Republicans have long used looming threats such as war, economic collapse, class warfare, social disintegration, illegal immigration to name just a few to frighten people into “seeing” things their way and trying to get them to vote for them. They use this as a wedge to promote themselves as the best candidate for the job of “protecting” America.
There is now scientific evidence that shows a discovery of a clear correlation between the size of certain brain parts and political views. There is evidence that beginning to accumulate that figuring out a person’s political proclivities may soon be as easy as a brain scan or even a DNA test. ( See study published in October 2011, by researchers at Harvard and UC-San Diego re: the DRD4 gene for a liberal predisposition). Conservative brains have larger amygdales than the brains of liberals. Amygdales are responsible for fear and other “primitive” emotions. At the same time, conservatives’ brains were also found to have smaller anterior cingulated which is the part of the brain responsible for courage and optimism. Source www.rawstory.com/rs/2010/12/28/conservatives-fear-center-brain/
Another aspect is the following article I read that while it may be tongue in cheek, it hits the proverbial nail right on the head about “A New Study Reveals That Stupidity Can Make You Conservative and Racist.” The link is www.politicususa.com/conservatism-stupidity-racism. What I found so fascinating …and disturbing in this article is the use of their alleged religious beliefs by exploiting lower IQ individuals by appealing to their racism and fear of the “other”. Also noted in the article is that these are not the New Testament Christians love your neighbor type of Christians; these are the Christians who pray for President Obama to die and leave his wife and children fatherless (see Psalm 109). Also noted in this article is where radio host Alan Colmes got a pastor (Drake) to admit on the radio that he was indeed, doing just that. The article is quite informative as to how the vultures will and do prey upon those with a lesser IQ than average and the tactics they use. They also point out and coin a phrase of Sara Palin being the “alpha-ignorant”. Have a read, it has much more information.
Now, from the article at rawstory, I learn more scientific evidence that this study could give us “the first medical reason for why conservatives tend to be more receptive to threats of terrorism, for example, than liberals. And it may help explain why conservatives like to plan based on the worst-case scenario, while liberals tend towards rosier outlook. “
What I took away from these articles is that it is almost virtually impossible to ever have a discussion with a hard core conservative and get them to see reason and our liberal point of view That is a medical fact, but to me it makes me think of the phrase they like to use against people (One of my own pet peeves) and say you can,( but in fact you cannot) “pray away the gay”. We are all born this way. I just happen to like how I was born and how many of my friends and family were also. I am grateful that bigger….is not…..always better.Have you ever wondered why, beyond just shaking your head and thinking “what... more
Royal Society study yields unsurprising results, Ecoscience co-author calls for “move to population shrinkage as humanely and as rapidly as possible”
The Royal Society, an organisation made up of renowned eco-fascists and depopulation fanatics, has released a “major report” calling for the “stabilization” of global population and reductions in consumption in developed countries.
The report is the unsurprising result of a 21 month “objective” study on human population growth and its implications for social and economic development.
“The number of people living on the planet has never been higher, their levels of consumption are unprecedented and vast changes are taking place in the environment. We can choose to rebalance the use of resources to a more egalitarian pattern of consumption … or we can choose to do nothing and to drift into a downward spiral of economic and environmental ills leading to a more unequal and inhospitable future”, the report reads.
The report also claims that developing countries will have to build the equivalent of a city of a million people every five days from now to 2050 in order to cope with the rate of population increase .
“In material terms it will be necessary for most developed countries to abstain from certain sorts of consumption, such as CO2,” said Jules Pretty who was on the Royal Society working group.
The study argues that there should be a demand to “reduce fertility” in poorer nations, particularly in Africa.
The Royal Society has also conducted extensive research into geoengineering the planet to manipulate its climate, and continually lobbies the government to divert funding into the area. The UK government recently published a lengthy report on geoengineering, drawing heavily on Royal Society research. The report proposed methods including spraying sulphate aerosols into the stratosphere to mimic the cooling effect produced by volcanic eruptions, as well as placing mirrors in space to reflect the Sun’s rays away from the Earth, a technique known as Solar Radiation Management (SRM).
The same talking points raised by the Society have been re-iterated again and again by public policy groups and environmentalists, as well as the most influential scientists in the US government.
While you and I may think the notions of sterilization and depopulation could never be accepted by the public, those very concepts are now being embraced and popularized as the way forward for humanity.

Representative Peter King, chairman of the Department of Homeland Security committee, spoke about the new shocking ad campaign planned to be unleashed nationwide by the DHS. "I don't think Americans quite understand the danger, or the fear they should be experiencing," he told reporters. "It's big stuff. You can't trust anyone. Report suspicious activity everywhere. Even if it's your neighbor or your grandma. Anybody can be a terrorist."
King's comments were mostly met with warm nods from Capitol Hill as congress approved the sensational new ad campaign. "We're trying to get people in the proper mindset when it comes to terrorism, and we're trying to keep them there."
Rep King took a moment to repeat the new Homeland Security terror slogan, and then he explained it. "Most people think if they get hit by a terrorist, they'll evaporate, like that's the end of story. No way. Dying in a terror attack isn't always quick and painless. It takes time to die from a terrorist's attack. Sometimes hours, sometimes months. It's agonizing, painful, and especially horrific to know that one of those people was the reason you had both your limbs blown off, along with your fingers, and the skin on your face and neck burnt away."
Homeland Security is deliberating about hanging posters like the one pictured above in subway stations, on trains and buses, on billboards, and in government buildings across America. "Increased vigilance and awareness and stuff like that," King said. "Always in a heightened state of alert."

Exclusive:Man Made Global Warming a Farce! Nobel Prize-Winning Physicist Who Endorsed Obama Resigns!Nobel Laureate Dr. Ivar Giaever: 'The temperature (of the Earth) has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in this 'warming' period.'
Giaever was also one of more than 100 co-signers in a March 30, 2009 letter to President Obama that was critical of his stance on global warming. See: More than 100 scientists rebuke Obama as 'simply incorrect' on global warming: 'We, the undersigned scientists, maintain that the case for alarm regarding climate change is grossly overstated'.
Nobel prize winner for physics in 1973 Dr. Ivar Giaever resigned as a Fellow from the American Physical Society (APS) on September 13, 2011 in disgust over the group's promotion of man-made global warming fears. Climate Depot has obtained the exclusive email Giaever sent titled "I resign from APS" to APS Executive Officer Kate Kirby to announce his formal resignation.
Dr. Giaever wrote to Kirby of APS: “Thank you for your letter inquiring about my membership. I did not renew it because I cannot live with the (APS) statement below (on global warming): APS: 'The evidence is incontrovertible: Global warming is occurring. If no mitigating actions are taken, significant disruptions in the Earth's physical and ecological systems, social systems, security and human health are likely to occur. We must reduce emissions of greenhouse gases beginning now.'
Giaever announced his resignation from APS was due to the group's belief in man-made global warming fears. Giaever explained in his email to APS: "In the APS it is ok to discuss whether the mass of the proton changes over time and how a multi-universe behaves, but the evidence of global warming is incontrovertible? The claim (how can you measure the average temperature of the whole earth for a whole year?) is that the temperature has changed from ~288.0 to ~288.8 degree Kelvin in about 150 years, which (if true) means to me is that the temperature has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in this 'warming' period."
Giaever was one of President Obama's key scientific supporters in 2008. Giaever joined over 70 Nobel Science Laureates in endorse Obama in an October 29, 2008 open letter. In addition to Giaever, other prominent scientists have resigned from APS over its stance on man-made global warming. See: Prominent Physicist Hal Lewis Resigns from APS: 'Climategate was a fraud on a scale I have never seen...Effect on APS position: None. None at all. This is not science'
Giaever, a former professor at the School of Engineering and School of Science Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, has become a vocal dissenter from the alleged “consensus” regarding man-made climate fears. He was featured prominently in the 2009 U.S. Senate Report of (then) Over 700 Dissenting International Scientists from Man-made global warming. For many years the drumbeat of popular leftist rhetoric has involved labeling (their) opponents as “fearmongers.” This term is used to demonize efforts by politicians and media personalities on the right by portraying them as irrational and their ideas or policies as unrealistic and unnecessary. Even though there may be a grain of truth when using this exceedingly rhetorical term, the people on the political left who use it must either be completely unaware of their own brand of fearmongering or they freely admit to their own double standards and hypocrisy.
The accusations against Republicans in recent years have mostly been focused on our attempts to eradicate Muslim extremists and the removal of the Saddam Hussein regime in Iraq. But Republicans also find themselves under attack with domestic matters, including issues like homosexual marriage and gun control. The leftists are quick to accuse the right of stirring up panic in order to garner support for what they perceive to be impractical, unconstitutional, or altogether ridiculous causes.
Ultimately, it’s a blatant hypocrisy and a lack of understanding that drives the left into its own fearmongering frenzy.
Their favorite tactic is to call the right “fascists” even when it is fascism that we are trying to confront as a nation. If the intelligence community points out that terrorist attacks are on the rise around the world and a Republican happens to mention it during a television or radio show, they are usually blamed for promoting alarm and hatred toward Muslims. Whether the comments are accurate or not is inconsequential because the goal is to make everyone afraid of that evil Republican’s agenda.
Leadership on the right is called imperialistic when we liberate oppressed people and ask for very little in return. They are called fascists when it is fascism that they are fighting and they are called tyrants when it is tyranny that is being defeated. The sad truth is that the people on the left who accuse the right of these things are the very same ones who promote totalitarian ideologies. Not only does the right have to defeat despotism abroad and suffer the indictments from their opponents, but they also have to fight off the lunge toward despotism at home from those same opponents.
And what does the left say about it? They call the right “war profiteers” and claim that the right wants to endlessly build up the military and create a police state. Despite the fact that of the last 28 years we’ve had a Republican Commander-in-Chief for 20 of them, there has been no emergence of military rule. The fear of “right-wing fascism” was, and is, completely unwarranted.
On the other hand, we now have a military under the command of a Fabian socialist.
War and the military is hardly the only subject that draws attention from the leftist fearmongers. Religion also plays a vital role and leaves them in a constant state of agitation. Fear and restlessness over the approaching theocracy has fueled many attacks by leftist commentators who have no problem expressing their distaste for disagreement on social topics. With abortion, homosexuality, pornography, and drug abuse always finding its way into political discourse, it’s very easy for demagogues to sound the alarm over the imposition of right-wing morality.
Yet somehow the country slides consistently toward an ever-increasing decadence. But that won’t stop the leftist fearmongers from clamoring about theocratic rule.
Another popular target for the left is gun ownership. They love to predict that relaxing gun control laws will lead to the return of the “Wild West,” where they believe duels, rampant vigilantism, and skyrocketing violent crimes will drag down our modern society. Somehow, these leftists remain unaware of the statistics that prove the exact opposite – or they willingly ignore them and choose to frighten the public instead. It’s much easier to blame a gun for the problems in our society instead of many of the illicit behaviors for which the left are enablers.
One of the most prominent objects for scare tactics in recent decades is our planet. The latest fad involves frightening the population about an impending doom called “global warming.” It’s just another leftist agenda found within the broader scope of “killing the planet.” The current global warming fearmongering follows earlier warnings about overpopulation, global cooling, the dying oceans, and the depleting ozone layer. All of these are constantly described as imminent catastrophes that need our immediate attention – and usually all of our money.
Despite the panic and warnings, none of these dire predictions have come true. Sooner rather than later, the global warming alarmism will fade away with the rest of the failed agendas, leaving room for a brand new crisis that needs urgent consideration and action – like our economy.
The economy has become the latest victim of leftist fearmongering. For much of the last year, we have heard Democrats using the economy as a tool for opposition to capitalism and Republican policies. Much of the language used has been nothing short of hyperbole. For many months we have had politicians and the media calling our economic situation “the worst crisis since the Great Depression” – and that was long before the job losses began piling up. The man most responsible for easing the fears and anxiety of the public has been doing the most harm.
Barack Obama has been traveling around the country telling the American People that if the government does nothing, then we will be headed for an economic “catastrophe.” Never mind the fact that we have already spent nearly two trillion dollars, the fearmongering from Obama and his cohorts in Congress and the media has reached unprecedented highs. He has even claimed that only government can provide the solution – and he is cheered for it. The public has such little confidence in the market and is whipped up into such a frenzy because they are subjected to daily fearmongering from the highest political offices in the country.
However, many economists – and even the Congressional Budget Office – believe that if Congress had done nothing, we may have been better off in the long run. But don’t tell that to the promoters of panic.
It’s true that all political persuasions use fear to try to sway public opinion or increase awareness, but there’s a difference between using it to promote legitimate concerns and using it to enact legislation that otherwise would have no chance with a calm and informed populace.
The leftists in this country have been using fear to advance failed theories and to demagogue policies and practices with which they simply disagree. It’s not only dangerous to do this in an environment of already heightened panic and confusion, but it’s irresponsible to do it to a public that looks to the government for information and guidance – despite how wrong that, in itself, may be.
So the next time you hear someone on the left hollering about right-wing fear tactics, stop and think about what they’re saying. Then try to understand the agenda they’re promoting by making you fearful of their opposition’s alleged fearmongering. It’s all part of the same game, but the left apparently refuses to believe they’re one of the contenders.

The source said New York and Washington were specifically mentioned as possible targets.
The members were told that officials are "strongly concerned" and "are not taking anything for granted" the source told CNN.
Additionally, a senior administration official with first-hand knowledge tells CNN National Security Contributor Fran Townsend that there is "specific, credible but unconfirmed threat information."
The official noted that al Qaeda has shown an interest in important dates and anniversaries.
"Weird things" raised questions about the intelligence but officials felt they should inform people because of the nearing 9/11 anniversary.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but it's not looking good for this 10th anniversary of 9/11. All the indicators are there to tell us they need a massive distraction and excuse to take this idiotic war on terror to horrific new levels and even more Orwellian internal controls and crackdowns.
Why They'll Do It Now
1. The illusion is wearing thin and ratings show it.
Obama's 'house of corporate banking thugs' administration is tanking in public perception. The matrix-generated veil of lies is disintegrating as economic realities hit home. His and congress' ratings are at record lows. His political opponents have even announced publicly to watch out for a false flag.

Now compare that to Earl Last year which hit the same place last year Sep 3, 2010 which the media likes to pretend didn't happen. Hurricane Earl was reported on this website. You see what makes a hurricane news is whether or not it is a good distraction or not.
Here is Hurricane Irene AKA "Not Gaddafi" which was World News And next was Hurricane Earl which none of you ever heard of unless you were hit by it (photos at link).
Hurricane Earl completely flooded the roads and motels. Did Earl get national mainstream media attention? NO. Earl was erased from meory they would not even report of it after the fact. This is EVERY mass media outlet. THIS is how piss poor their research is. They don't even bother. They all just repeat one another.
I saw the Huffington post with the same bogus reporting, repeating the MSM. They all lie, be it on purpose or out of ignorance. The dollar collapse will be the single largest event in human history. This will be the first event that will touch every single living person in the world. All human activity is controlled by money. Our wealth, our work, our food, our government, even our relationships are affected by money. No money in human history has had as much reach in both breadth and depth as the dollar. It is the de facto world currency. All other currency collapses will pale in comparison to this big one. All other currency crises have been regional and there were other currencies for people to grasp on to. This collapse will be global and it will bring down not only the dollar but all other fiat currencies,as they are fundamentally no different. The collapse of currencies will lead to the collapse of ALL paper assets. The repercussions to this will have incredible results worldwide.

The Road to Perdition -
The majority of Americans may believe that the economic crisis knocked them off their destined course to wealth and prosperity, but the truth is that we were never as rich as we thought we were when cheap credit and cheap oil expanded our purchasing power unnaturally beyond the limitations of our productivity, of minds and machines, to generate an economic surplus.
If we were honest we’d admit, like a lottery winner who has spent all his winnings on cars and drugs, that the era of free-wheeling fun has come to an end.
We had a blast, but it’s over.
At least some of us had fun. The dot com speculators who sold at the top. The housing bubble speculators who got out in time. The Wall Street investment bankers who played it both ways, selling junk on the way up and shorting it on the way down.
Too bad for everyone else, for those who missed out, for the paycheck workers and the stock mutual fund buy-and-hold investors. The losers along with the winners will have to shoulder the burden of coping with cheap oil and credit era debris. The inherent unfairness of this outcome of the credit bubble era will pose yet another threat to the long standing presumption of American political stability and security that underpins the relative safety of US capital markets.
The collapsed credit bubble has left us with a debt overhang that diverts the cash flow of households and business toward payments of principle and interest, preventing our economy from reaching its full output potential. Failure to write down the bubble era debt consigns us to corrosive debt deflation that demands more government stimulus spending to keep the top line of the economy growing while eroding the bottom line -- the purchasing power of income and savings -- with cost-push inflation, an artifact of a persistently weak dollar.
Richard Koo refers to his condition euphemistically as a “balance sheet recession.” That’s banker-speak for using public funds to try to close an output gap created by the collapse of a credit bubble that enriched creditors without holding them to account. As we see later in this analysis, Japan's experiment with applying Keynesian stimulus for decades rather than for a brief period to close an output gap as Keynes intended, will be among the great economic failures that befall the world in the coming decade.
Left-leaning economists deploy semi-scientific language to argue that we need to use public funds to prop up the economy until it becomes self-sustaining. They ignore the fact that the policy only works if the private sector can be primed to borrow more money into existence than it is retiring via debt repayment, else the dependence on deficit spending becomes structural and the spending perpetual, at least until the nation runs out of credit in a decade or two.
Right-leaning economists argue for cutting government spending and taxation to free up producers to hire and consumers to spend, ignoring the fact that when an over-indebted economy is in an output gap a reduction in government spending reduces the economy's primary surplus, shrinking the economy further, either in real or nominal terms, and worsening its fiscal position. It's like a mortgage lender demanding that a borrower sell the car he needs to use to get to work, so that income that he is spending on car loan payments can instead be used to pay off the mortgage. It's self-defeating.
Once an over-indebted country in an output gap begins to have difficulty repaying foreign debt, because debt payments exceed available tax revenue net of outlays, that nation will only dig itself deeper into a hole if policy makers attempt to reduce budget deficits by means of spending cuts. According to economist Sebastian Edwards, “Perverse fiscal dynamics – where the country fails to generate a primary surplus large enough as to stabilize the debt to GDP ratio – usually generates a vicious circle, where failure to stabilize the debt ratio results in higher cost of funds, lower growth, and in an even larger required primary surplus.”
The so-called debate about debt ceilings, spending cuts, and entitlements reductions is a red herring. The public debt crisis arose from the 2007 - 2008 private credit market crisis, not the government liabilities that have been building for decades.
The mistake of both the left and the right is thinking that we can escape an output gap without facing up to the politically unpopular task of demanding that creditors take a loss on loans taken out during the credit bubble era.
We need a private sector debt cut, not a tax cut.
Trillions in mortgage debt against fictitious housing value remains on the balance sheets of households after home prices deflated 25%.
These debts should not exist. They resulted from an over-abundance of credit and deficiency in lending discipline.
But Main Street’s credit bubble era debt is Wall Street’s political cash flow entitlement.
The banking lobby will make sure that the next president and Congress keep the bogus debt service payments flowing, no matter that principle and interest payments on mortgage debt now consume 30% of the average household budget, followed by transportation costs at 19% and rising, food costs at 14% and rising, insurance costs at 12% and rising, and health care costs at 6% and rising. Throw in a value-added tax proposed by Paul Volcker and others to balance the budget and we can kiss what’s left of our Postcatastrophe Economy goodbye.
Debt deflation is not the only holdover from the cheap credit era that is keeping us stuck in an output gap. At the same time the bill is coming due for building a transportation infrastructure that is dependent on cheap imported oil.
In the short-term, high oil costs push the US economy ever closer to negative real growth territory.
In Q1 2011, consumer price inflation averaged 3% according to the MIT Billions of Prices project, while the Bureau of Labored Statistics' revised Q1 GDP number confirmed a 1.8% real annual growth rate. In the same quarter the BLS reported a 3.7% nominal GDP growth rate and an average 2.2% inflation rate. When we subtract 2.2% from 3.7% we get a real GDP of 1.5% not 1.8%, but enough quibbling. If the nominal GDP growth rate was 3.7% and we use the MIT versus the BLS numbers, we get 0.7% real GDP growth, and I estimate that in Q2 2011 the economy contracted in real terms. This is the beginning of the first Peak Cheap Oil Cycle recession, a recession in real but not nominal terms. As we see later in this analysis, real GDP recessions are far more painful and political destabilizing than the nominal recessions.
In the short run, bad energy policy is heightening stagflation. In the long run it drives destructive public policy.

The mainstream media keeps telling us that crime is under control, but they are also the ones that keep telling us that we are in the midst of an "economic recovery". CAIRO — Al-Qaida on Friday confirmed the killing of Osama bin Laden and warned of retaliation, saying Americans’ ”happiness will turn to sadness.”
The confirmation came in an Internet statement posted on militant websites, signed by “the general leadership” of al-Qaida. The announcement opens the way for the group to name a successor to bin Laden. His deputy Ayman al-Zawahri is now the most prominent figure in the group and is a very likely contender to take his place.
The statement, dated May 3, was the first by the terror network since bin Laden was killed Monday by U.S. commandos in a raid on his hideout in Abbottabad, Pakistan. The statement’s authenticity could not be independently confirmed, but it was posted on websites where the group traditionally puts out its messages.
“We stress that the blood of the holy warrior sheik, Osama bin Laden, God bless him, is precious to us and to all Muslims and will no go in vain,” the statement said. “We will remain, God willing, a curse chasing the Americans and their agents, following them outside and inside their countries.”
“Soon, God willing, their happiness will turn to sadness,” it said, “their blood will be mingled with their tears.”
In the statement, al-Qaida also called on the people of Pakistan — “where Sheik Osama was killed” — to rise up in revolt against its leaders. It also said that an audio message bin Laden recorded a week before his death would be issued soon.

The Great Escape from Kandahar prison by 500 Taliban?
WASHINGTON (AFP) – Al-Qaeda and Islamic militants Friday vowed to avenge the killing of Osama bin Laden by US commandos, declaring him a "martyr" and calling on Muslims to rise up against the United States.Confirming bin Laden's death for the first time, the terror network denounced his slaying urging Pakistani Muslims "to cleanse their country from the filth of the Americans who spread corruption in it."
The Afghanistan Taliban also joined the chorus of condemnation -- as small rallies were held after Friday prayers in several Islamic nations -- saying the loss of the architect of the September 11, 2001 attacks would only serve to strengthen its resolve in the fight against "foreign invaders. "We call upon our Muslim people in Pakistan, on whose land Sheikh Osama was killed, to rise up and revolt to cleanse this shame," Al-Qaeda said in a statement released by the SITE monitoring group.
The Islamist group proclaimed its Saudi-born founder a "martyr," adding he had "terrified all the nations of disbelief." A damning new study conducted by German scientists has found that so-called energy saving light bulbs contain poisonous carcinogens that could cause cancer and should be “kept as far away as possible from the human environment,” but Americans will be forced to replace their traditional light bulbs with toxic CFLs ahead of a government ban set to take effect at the start of next year.
“German scientists claimed that several carcinogenic chemicals and toxins were released when the environmentally-friendly compact fluorescent lamps (CFLs) were switched on, including phenol, naphthalene and styrene,” reports the London Telegraph.
The study, conducted by Peter Braun at the Berlin’s Alab Laboratory, led the scientists involved to warn that the bulbs should only be used sparingly, in areas with good ventilation, and “definitely not in the proximity of the head,” due to the danger of the electrical smog the bulbs generate impacting human health.
That’s going to cause difficulties for Americans who will be forced to buy the bulbs following a government ban on traditional incandescent lighting that comes into effect on January 1, 2012.
A 2007 bill signed in to law by President George W. Bush mandates that, “Manufacturers will no longer be able to make the 100-watt Thomas Edison bulb after Jan. 1, 2012, followed by the 75-watt version in Jan. 2013, and the the 60- and 40-watt bulbs in Jan. 2014.”
The legislation mirrors similar laws in Europe, where incandescent bulbs began to be phased out in 2009. The EU also plans to ban halogen bulbs by 2016, forcing people to use compact fluorescent lamps, or CFLs, which produce a poor quality of light with an attendant flicker affect that causes many people to become dizzy and ill.
Ron Paul is amongst those leading a charge in Congress to repeal the draconian state phase out of Thomas Edison’s iconic invention. The Freedom Action group has also launched a national campaign to repeal the ban. Last week, the South Carolina House passed a bill overturning the ban and similar legislation is in the works in Texas, Georgia and Minnesota.
Forcing Americans to buy CFL bulbs that are harmful to their health and the environment is completely unconstitutional. Indeed, in a similar vein to forcing Americans to buy mandatory health insurance under Obamacare, it’s a clear violation of the Commerce Clause.
The so-called “dirty energy” emitted by CFLs produces radiation that has been linked with migraine headaches, sleep abnormalities, fatigue, and other health defects.
The new German study adds to concerns raised by separate research conducted by Abraham Haim, a professor of biology at Haifa University in Israel, who found that the light emitted by CFL’s increased the chance of women getting breast cancer by disrupting the body’s production of the hormone melatonin.
CFLs are also more harmful to the environment because they are filled with toxic mercury that contaminates the environment when the bulbs reach the landfill.
“A report released in 2008 from the Maine Department of Environmental Protection revealed that when a CFL bulb is broken, it can release dangerously high levels of mercury into the air,” writes Ethan Huff.
