Is Jean-Marie Loret Hitler's love child?

Decades ago Jean-Marie Loret was told that his father was one of the most hated men ever to have lived. Adolf Hitler. The poor guy even wrote a book on the subject, which sank without trace as no one believed him.But his controversial claim has refused to die and now new research published by tge French magazine Le Point is giving added credence to his belief.His mother Charlotte Lobjoie described on her deathbed how the Nazi leader — then a young corporal in the Kaiser’s army — had fathered her child during a brief liaison in the First World War, Le Point reported.“I was helping make the hay with the other women when we saw a German soldier on the other side of the road,” she told him.“He had some kind of cardboard and was drawing. I was delegated to approach him and ask what he was doing.”One thing led to another, and the French teenager found herself left holding the baby, born in March 1918.Everyone in their village of Fournes-en-Weppe, near Lille, knew Mr. Loret had a German for a father and children at school taunted him by calling him “the son of the Boche.”Ms. Lobjoie had him adopted by the wealthy family who employed one of her sisters.While Mr. Loret was shocked by his mother’s revelations, they set him off on a crusade to discover the truth.The information made sense of things that had seemed inexplicable before.Although Hitler refused to acknowledge his son, he kept up a correspondence with Ms. Lobjoie and sent money.During the German occupation of France, this would be in the form of cash, delivered in envelopes by officers wearing the Wehrmacht uniform.After his mother’s death, Mr. Loret discovered paintings in the attic allegedly signed “Adolf Hitler.” The family apparently became owners of a property in Frankfurt without paying a penny for it.The man enlisted the help of a historian and went back to the scenes of his childhood, questioning the few surviving residents about their memories of the period.He also sought the aid of science.A study by the University of Heidelberg reportedly shows Hitler and Mr. Loret have the same blood group. Another study showed that their handwritings are similar. Photographs also reveal a resemblance (but then again any balding man with a Hitler tash will look a bit Nazi).Mr. Loret died in 1985, after having been married several times and fathering as many as nine children.There are plans to publish a revised version of Mr. Loret’s book, Your Father’s Name is Hitler. The family’s lawyer also suggests they may be able to claim royalties from Hitler’s Mein Kampf.However, the claim has been disputed, particularly by Belgium journalist Jean-Paul Mulders. Several years ago Mr. Mulders said he had collected DNA samples of relatives of Hitler and Mr. Loret and compared them.They did not match, he said.Merde und Scheisse...
