Mercenaries 2: World in Flames was released last year but now we have learned that the now closed Pandemic Studios were working on two unannounced projects, one of which would have been an online sandbox game based in the Mercenaries world entitled Mercenaries Inc.
A trailer for the unannounced game was posted on Vimeo.com by former Pandemic Studio's VFX artist Dorian Compo. Compo describes Mercs, Inc. as a "multiplayer sandbox game," but it is unknown whether it will contain an open-world single-player campaign as well, like the previous titles in the series.
Compo's personal LinkedIn profile details two Pandemic projects that are listed on his profile as canceled one of which is Mercenaries Inc.Mercenaries 2: World in Flames was released last year but now we have learned that the... more
Last week, we posted news that Pandemic Studios, creators of Destroy All Humans, Mercenaries, and December 8th’s The Saboteur, was being shut down.
EA representatives confirmed that nearly 200 people would be laid off. These bright (and opportunistic) Pandemic folks decided to post this final farewell to the world on behalf of the studio and give EA a big ol’ middle finger. Enjoy.
(Ed Note: Do be warned, the lyrics in the song are NSFW, so don’t crank this in your workplace unless you’re about to burn the building down – R.T.)
I was born of a whore and bred as an assassin, this could not be more true as Bioware's newest game, Dragon Age: Origins has blown critics away one after another. Now it would seem that now we know what has been blowing them, possibly giving good reason for the high scores for Dragon Age: Origins.
Homosexual web blog Queerty has discovered a man on man sexual encounter within the critically acclaimed video game by Bioware.
"While some video games, like The Sims, allow characters to engage in same-sex lovin', we believe BioWare's Dragon Age is the first that game creators produced an entire gay sex scene for. Between man and elf.
Well, it's the first we've ever seen.
We've never played Dragon Age: Origins (the "dark heroic fantasy" was just released this month), but from watching this clip we know characters are given a series of dialogue options when talking to other characters. And like a good Choose Your Own Adventure book, selecting the right choices will reap excellent rewards."I was born of a whore and bred as an assassin, this could not be more true as... more

Yesterday, EA representatives confirmed the closure of Pandemic Studios, makers of such titles as Mercenaries, Star Wars: Battlefront, and the upcoming The Saboteur.
While the process of shutting the developer down is still underway, it appears that the vast majority of Pandemic’s 200 regular employees were shown the door. CEO Andrew Goldman, President Josh Resnick, and Vice President of Product Development Greg Borrud were included in that list.

I was going to review LEGO Rock Band but if you don’t know what a Rock Band game is like by now then I can’t help you — and I know we all hate lists, but this is a strong one on reasons why you should buy LEGO Rock Band.
What do you get when the directors of such acclaimed anime as Ghost In The Shell, Blood The Last Vampire, and more bring your their own personal visions of Hell?
Why, an animated movie for Dante’s Inferno, of course. You silly sinner, you!
Some have argued that Visceral Games’ transformation of Dante Alighieri’s epic poem, The Divine Comedy, into a God of War-esque action game borders on heresy already. What luck; Heresy is the subject of the newest Dante’s Inferno Developer Diary!

In addition to announcing massive layoffs, studio closures, and canceled titles, EA Games boss Frank Gibeau let slip that a “revitalization” of the Medal of Honor franchise will be shown off soon.
Yesterday Electronic Arts announced it plans to slash over 1,500 jobs by March 2010 as a cost-reducing measure. Since October 2008 EA has already eliminated over 1,000 jobs.
The world’s second largest video game publisher said it will concentrate its efforts on products bearing “higher margin opportunities.”
Were the Geth just not enough for you in the first Mass Effect? Did your version of Commander Shepard long to be dealing with new races of hostile aliens, all gunning for his head? Did that excite you? Is that how you got your sick thrills? Huh? Is it?
I don’t really want to know, to be honest, but this new video may be just the kind of thing that’ll get your motor running – it deals with the some of the various, less friendly alien races of Mass Effect 2 and the many ways they’ll be looking to make Shepard’s life more difficult.
And if you’re not spent by the time all of that is done, there’s a handful of new screens under the jump too. Just make sure to towel off before you head on through.
What? You’ve already finished Dragon Age: Origins? Already? Well fear not stalwart adventurer; BioWare shall not leave your need to cleave unsated! The Dragon Age Toolset is now available!
EA brought to GameX the latest build of Dante’s Inferno. Dante’s Inferno has an interesting history as far as how the game has come about. People have touted it the “God of War Killer” and I keep reading about how one of the level designers worked on both God of War and Metroid Prime, so at least there is credibility to the claims that this might be the ‘killer’.
