The answer to this question — which affects the flow of information and culture, the growth of the economy and the future of communications, education and democracy itself — rests largely in the hands of Julius Genachowski, a 48-year-old Jew from Long Island with knowledge of Talmud and an appointment to one of the most critical policy posts in Washington.

If his December 1 proposal to address Internet regulation is any indication, Genachowski, chairman of the Federal Communications Commission since June 2009, is seeking a solution in a very Jewish way: He issued a compromise in the pitched debate over the Internet’s openness, a concept often referred to as net neutrality.

Genachowski’s talmudic streak was evident in his recent proposal on regulating the Internet. In a speech December 1, Genachowski outlined what he called the “rules of the road” for regulation. They included an obligation of transparency for ISPs, the prohibition of ISPs from blocking content, gutting “unreasonable discrimination” on the flow of Internet traffic, and allowing providers to charge different prices for different amounts of broadband use and different speeds. In short, the proposal would have the FCC regulate telecommunications corporations more than the companies would have liked, but less than consumer groups felt was necessary for preserving an open Internet

Although reluctant to discuss his personal religious practices publicly, Genachowski is proud and open about the cultural component of his Judaism. In fact, he began his remarks at his Senate confirmation hearing by telling the story of his parents, Lithuanians who fled the Nazis.

His family’s roots are deeply enmeshed in the Jewish world. The chairman’s brother, Joey Genachowski, is president of the Hebrew Academy of Long Beach and a board member of the Young Israel of Woodmere, both on Long Island. His first cousin once removed is Rabbi Menachem Genack, CEO of the Orthodox Union’s Worldwide Kosher Division. His great uncle, Eliyahu Moshe Genachowski, served in the Israeli Knesset. We all know of the libel that never dies."The Jews run the media".It was a hitler favorite, and exists today in the form of zionist controled hollywood.

It has always seemed an odd libel to issue, considering how many movies or television shows do you watch that in any way push a Jewish, or zionist agenda.I cant recall the last time i watched a movie and thought "must support israel" or "must convert to judaism".Certainly jewish population numbers, and criticism of israel show this is not the result of the "Jewish run" media.

What is how ever, undeniably influenced by judaism is Superman.I dont know who finds such shows as Smallville or Lois and Clark threatening in any way, but the Superman mythology is a prime example of jewish influence in contemperary media and culture.

The ancient jewish name for god is el, and Supermans name, as well as his fathers name are both uses of it.Supermans name Kal-el and father Jor-el.both meaning from god in hebrew.

Superman was placed in a pod and sent away for safety wich morrors the mythology of Moses identicaly.

But most importantly, Superman is simply an updated version of a centuries old European Jewish myth knowm as the Golem.The Golem was a giant creature made of clay, and brought to life through the mystical and spiritual wisdom of a rabbi.the Golems mission was to defend the innocent Jews of europe from the ceaseless persecution they were subject to.An indestructible being who protects the innoent.Maybe not exclusively a jewish notion.Im sure the Greeks will find a way to show how they created this story first.but at the end of the day, in creation, mythology,and function Superman is a contemperary Golem.

The list goes on and on, but does get boring.

Two jews created superman.Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.These are just two of those "evil" Jews who run the media, and what they do with that position of influence.i personaly am not a Superman fan, but as a culture we seem to be.

BUPC Rights Upheld in Federal Court

This is a victory for the Baha'i's Under the Provisions of the Covenant, and a victory for the freedom of speech, the separation of church and state and the core values of the American system as espoused and envisioned by the American founding fathers.

Now at the 390th year anniversary of the Mayflower Compact and the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth Rock both in 1620; and in precise time for both the Day of the Covenant celebration and the memorial ascension of Abdu'l-Baha commemorating the activation of the sacred Charter of the Kingdom (see World Order of Baha'u'llah, p. 144) the Will and Testament (W&T) of Abdu'l-Baha, on the 26th and 28th of November respectively; as well as coinciding with the American Thanksgiving Holiday: once again the Covenant-breakers in Wilmette and Haifa have been thwarted in their attempts to shut down the public teaching effort and close down all the websites and publications of the Baha'i's under the provisions of the Covenant.

In order to get out of the 6-66 injunction Joel Marangella and the other splinter groups fearing that if Abdu'l-Baha's aghsan son, Mason Remey was bound by the 6-66 injunction, this would pass on down to his successors, stood up and publically confessed in the courts of law that in fact they were not the successors to Mason Remey at al but his RIVALS!! Thus a legal confession to being a) boldfaced usurpers attacking Mason; and b) to being outside the provisions of the Covenant altogether. Thus, in order to save their own butts, so to speak, they admit they are not the successors to Baha'u'llah, Abdu'l-Baha, Shoghi Effendi and Mason Remey the son of Abdu'l-Baha!!!

In the case of the BUPC, we were able to testify in open court, 1) that Dr. Jensen who left the NSA in New Mexico in 1964 was never bound by the 6-66 injunction at all. We further pointed out that the Publishers and the IBC/UHJ established by him are not the sucessorship to Mason Remey, but are the lineal sucessorship to Baha'u'llah, Abdu'l-Baha and Shoghi Effendi, and then comes the UHJ set up on January 9, 1951 by Shoghi Effendi as that first IBC that the Hands demolished and which was then re-established on January 9, 1991 by Dr. Leland Jensen. As such, none of the entities, Dr. Jensen, the Publishers or the IBC/UHJ (www.UHJ.net) were in legal succession to Mason Remey, therefore none of them are bound by the 6-66 injunction.This is a victory for the Baha'i's Under the Provisions of the Covenant, and... more

First female Rabbi ordained in Germany since WWII

After years of studies Alina Treiger is about to become the first female Rabbi to be ordained in the country since before the second world war. Her predecessor, Regina Jonas made history when she was ordained as Germany's first female rabbi in 1935.
When the Nazis' took control she was forbidden to preach in Berlin's synagogues and she was eventually deported to the Jewish ghetto in Theresienstadt in 1942. She died in the gas chambers of Auschwitz when she was 42. Now, Alina Treiger is about to assume the same rights and responsibilities as male rabbis, unlike Jonas, who struggled to have her 1935 ordination recognised and was restricted to teaching religion.Treiger has spent five years preparing for her ordination and said that even today the divisions between male and female colleagues remain stark. "When a man wears a prayer shawl he is taken to be a rabbi, whereas many don't want to accept that a woman wearing one can also be a rabbi," she said. "When I've said I'm going to be a rabbi, people's reactions have often startled me. They cannot imagine that a woman is capable of making ethical and religious decisions in a community and preaching to them."
The reason for such scepticism has to do with the fact that although Germany was the birthplace of liberal Judaism, the movement shifted to the US after the Holocaust. The first female rabbi in the US was ordained in 1972. Orthodox Judaism does not accept female rabbis.Germany's liberal seminaries disappeared in the Holocaust, so until the country's first liberal rabbinical seminary opened in Potsdam in 1999, there was no place of study for would-be female rabbis to attend. There are other female rabbis in Germany, but they were ordained in other countries. Treiger was born in 1979 in the Ukrainian town of Poltawa, she was aware of her Jewish roots from a young age – largely because the communist authorities forbade her father from studying and restricted him to factory work, simply because he was a Jew."This experience always made me very aware of my Jewish roots," she said, "and also very aware that I had something that others didn't."At the end of the cold war, finally free to embrace her religion, she founded a Jewish youth club and met other young Jews. But stifled by the orthodox community of which she was a member, Treiger decided to head west. She made her way to Germany, arriving with a tiny suitcase and unable to speak German.
