Sigur Rós singer Jón Þór Birgisson (aka Jónsi) and partner Alex Somers have exhibited artwork as Riceboy Sleeps since 2003, but they are finally releasing their debut album on July 20 via Parlophone.
The duo recorded the album in Iceland and Hawaii, using only acoustic instruments and solar-powered laptops.

I did the cnn.com/live thing again today and put every ounce of energy I have into not saying any of my favorite words while discussing that damn new Hannah Montana album. It was exhausting. However, here’s the stuff you should go buy right now:
Oh My God, This Week Was For The Win: Week 30
Luke Brown brings you the best, worst, and most random news stories of last week.
Australia didn't quite get the message last week so they've stepped back into the ring with Luke for Round Two. Apparently, they've found something else to ban.
The undercard is a tag-team match from Japan. Capcom and Sony each bring you something you never asked for. What service!
I'm sure our world tour will continue next week as well. I suspect it's the European Union's turn to generate some bullshittery. But who knows..Oh My God, This Week Was For The Win: Week 30

Rocktober is in full swing, with the year’s selection of basketball titles dribbling into stores this week. Brutally hard PS3 exclusive Demon’s Souls is also finally available in North America, as well as Afrika, which has been out in other parts of the world for a good long time. If you want to preemptively attack those holiday pounds, Wii Fit Plus can help you out; if you would rather have nightmares, SAW and Obscure: The Aftermath will do the trick. Oh, and there’s a new game from that little-known niche franchise, Star Wars.Rocktober is in full swing, with the year’s selection of basketball titles dribbling... more
Now, after countless plays of I Megaphone (1998 - I'm sure you've heard, Come Here Boy), Speak for Yourself (2005), and a smattering of singles (my favorite: Speeding Cars), her latest album is scheduled for release later this month. But why wait til then when you can listen to it now? Yes! Right now! Now, after countless plays of I Megaphone (1998 - I'm sure you've heard, Come Here... more
Pete Molinari's a kid from an Italian-Maltese-Egyptian family that was raised on the Medway Delta in the UK. He recorded this EP in Nashville with Chris Scruggs (Earl's grandson) and the Jordanaires, Elvis's gospel singers (yeah, they're still alive and kickin' and sounding great).
The EP is pretty damn cheap for such quality music, so the great recession ain't a good enough excuse not to get it.
I was on CNN.com again today, and this time I got to talk about three great bands. Here’s the liner notes and additional info for what I was yammerin’ on about:
PS: if you disagree with my reviews, no big deal, it's only an opinion. Just take the time to read the post or watch the CNN video before you post a snarky comment. Deal? Deal.I was on CNN.com again today, and this time I got to talk about three great bands.... more

No one outside Bloc Party was expecting this album. Or at least not so soon.
Intimacy will be released digitally today at 9am and will be available on the band's official website for £5. The physical release is due in late October and will include additional tracks.
"The recording effectively was finished in July. So not a huge amount of time ago. It was mixed fairly recently, so I got a final master CD probably last week, " Gordon Moakes told Pitchfork.

Björk and Thom Yorke are joining forces for a good cause: protecting the Icelandic environment. On October 20, One Little Indian will release a new Björk single "Nattura."
The promo reads:
"Nattura" (which features Thom Yorke from Radiohead on backing vocals) highlights a grass roots movement in Iceland to reclaim the country’s natural ressources and wildeness from the hands of big business and polution. But Nattura is more of a protest and rallying cry rather than a lecture.

So, I was supposed to be on cnn.com/live again today, but due to some technical difficulties, it didn’t work out. These things happen, but it is kind of annoying that I trimmed my beard, put on a clean shirt, and showed up to work sober. Anywhoo, here’s the music I was planning to push today.
DJ Dru West was a previous interviewed guest on my show on episode XIII. In this episode, you will hear music from his latest release called, “Journey Thru the Concrete Jungle”. This mix was created as a musical journey that was inspired by his move from the San Francisco club scene to his dream scene of New York City. Here is where Dru West’s now calls home and where he will make a larger than life name for himself and place himself on the known DJ spotlight.DJ Dru West was a previous interviewed guest on my show on episode XIII.
