This story may be obvious to some... but we should all keep this stuff in mind nowadays. Saving money is fun! Plus, getting ripped off for food is borderline criminal. In my opinion, the best way to save money while buying food is to hit up the local fruit stand / small, family owned market. I have one near me and the prices are absolutely unbeatable. Not to mention it's all locally grown... and the service is awesome. These aren't available to everyone but if you can find one, you should absolutely switch when you can!
Small markets don't often have everything you need, so going to the supermarket is sill sometimes necessary. These are some tips on "how they get you" at the supermarket. The basic rules to follow are:
1. The middle shelf is premium space. Like ads during the Superbowl. Upper and lower shelves usually hold cheaper products of negligible difference.
2. Any way you slice it... pre-sliced, chopped, etc... is all more expensive. From the article: "Prices vary all the time" Marks pointed out, "but it's not a stretch to say that you can pay anywhere from two, 300 percent to 600 percent or more for the convenience of pre-cut, pre-shredded or pre-anything produce."
So shred it yourself, yo!
3. This one is a no-brainer. Basically... bulk is better. If you're living in a big house, work together on this one and everyone saves money. From the article: "Potatoes at that store were 50 cents a pound for a 5 pound bag, compared to one dollar a pound for loose potatoes."
That's it from me... For more, check out the article! And if you can help it, try out your local market... you'll save tons of cash and it's great on the environment to shop locally for lots of reasons... You may also experience less cancer from pesticides. Bonus! This story may be obvious to some... but we should all keep this stuff in mind... more

Obviously, the Keeper is not for every woman, but only one woman in my extended circle of Keeper experimenters ever chose to discard hers and return to tampons. If you think the Keeper may be for you, I encourage you to investigate this low-cost, low-impact option. It's not any "grosser" than what we've all been doing since the tender age of 12, to be printably vague. It is a sanitary, environmentally friendly method compatible with white pants, volleyball games, and soft music wafting in the background while you run in slow motion on the beachObviously, the Keeper is not for every woman, but only one woman in my extended circle... more
