After weeks of speculation, with Rourke saying yes, then saying no, a WWE representative has confirmed that The Wrestler star will be attending Wrestlemania 25.
Originally Rourke expressed his interest saying "I want to ...I’m talking with Rowdy Roddy Piper about it," which was later played down by one of his representatives.
But if Monday night's RAW was anything to go on, Rourke could indeed be slipping into his spandex one-piece after Chris Jericho fuelled the rumours by challenging Rowdy Roddy Piper to a fight.
He said: "You say you’re going to be at Mania, I’m going to buy you a front row seat, because I want you to see up close and personal what’s going to happen to all your friends... And unlike your movie The Wrestler, the ending of this isn’t going to be ambiguous. It’s going to be tragic."
Is Rourke gonna bring the thunder at Wrestlemania? I hope so, I wanna see bodyslamming and supplexing galore!
More importantly though, does Rourke stand a chance of winning? After weeks of speculation, with Rourke saying yes, then saying no, a WWE... more

Hey, look, here's a competition where the contestants hurl vicious, ugly insults at each other, wield folding chairs as weapons, and throw each other into plate glass windows and piles of barbed wire, and it isn't the Minnesota recount.
In The Wrestler, has-been pro Randy "The Ram" Robinson (played affectingly by Mickey Rourke) struggles to keep a foundering career going, even as he is thrown curves by life, family, and a body that has seen far too much abuse.
We caught up with director Darren Aronofsky at a New York press day, and got to ask him a few questions.Hey, look, here's a competition where the contestants hurl vicious, ugly insults... more
