(Hmmm, think Keith O has any opinions about this??)
Glenn Beck's hate has no place in America, much less in America's favorite pastime.
Sports outlets have reported that MLB Advanced Media, the interactive arm of Major League Baseball, is teaming up with the hateful conservative commentator Glenn Beck to stream his shows online.
Major League Baseball's partnership with Glenn Beck is shameful and should not be giving him a platform to spew his hate and fearmongering. MLB should immediately sever their relationship with Beck.

New York - “If you can’t beat ‘em, eat ‘em.” That could be mantra of Hank Steinbrenner who along with the rest of the Steinbrenner family have gobbled up the ALDS-winning Detroit Tigers and have changed that team’s name to the New New York Yankees.
The newly christened ballclub is expected to move into Yankee Stadium immediately and play the Texas Rangers for the American League pennant there. “Then it’s on to the World Series,” Steinbrenner said. “As a co-owner, I’ve waited a long time for this — since last Friday.”… more…New York - “If you can’t beat ‘em, eat ‘em.” That could... more

Former pitcher Hideki Irabu dead in apparent suicide
By the CNN Wire Staff
July 28, 2011 5:41 p.m. EDT
Hideki Irabu came to the United States from Japan in 1997 and retired in 2002.
STORY HIGHLIGHTS
NEW: Irabu helped create the current system used by Japanese players
Irabu was found in his California home Wednesday
Officials determined the cause of death was a suicide
Irabu joined the Major Leagues in 1997 and was traded several times
.
(CNN) -- Former professional baseball pitcher Hideki Irabu was found dead at his California home, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
Homicide detectives and representatives from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office determined that he committed suicide, Sgt. Diane Hecht said Thursday. She did not know the method he used.
His body was discovered in his Rancho Palos Verdes home around 4:20 p.m. Wednesday, Hecht said.
Irabu, 42, was a successful and well-established player in Japan when he came to the United States after being drafted by the San Diego Padres in 1997, according to CNN affiliate KTLA.
But Irabu refused to play for the Padres. He insisted he would play only for the New York Yankees, a stand that helped create the system that Japanese players currently use if they wish to join the Major Leagues before they are eligible for free agency, according to an article on Major League Baseball's website.
It was during Irabu's two seasons with the Yankees that he had an infamous altercation with owner George Steinbrenner, who called Irabu a "fat toad," the website said.
He played for the Montreal Expos and Texas Rangers before he retired from the Major Leagues in 2002. In the intervening years, he spent some time pitching in his native Japan and for a team in an independent league in California.

On the other hand, Steinbrenner was great for the game because every compelling drama needs a strong heel. It’s good for baseball when the Yankees are winning because they’re so polarizing. You love ‘em or you hate ‘em, and if you love ‘em or hate ‘em you’re more likely to tune in for an epic battle between Good and Evil. Perhaps moreso than any other narrative thread in American popular culture, the great American morality play that unfolds each October is most engaging when the Yankees are on stage. On the other hand, Steinbrenner was great for the game because every compelling drama... more

If you've ever wondered about some of those calls that go the pinstripe way, or if there's just a little too much on the payroll, or perhaps the big question of how they can start out terribly and end up in the World Series up 3-1, perhaps it has to do with Major League Baseball's donations. They do have their headquarters in New York, after all.

New York City, as in other large cities like Los Angeles or Chicago, is a city of rooms, where many secret things occur clandestinely behind closed doors. Who knows what mysteries are even now unfolding inside the apartment in that very ordinary-looking building on the corner of 39th Street and Sixth Avenue, or even in the apartment right next door to it?
This series of photographs entitled “Rooms,” captures visits to rooms inside of places about which you may never have thought, or even if you’ve imagined what they’re like, you’ve probably never actually been there. The photographs capture a wide range of social and economic experiences in New York City, including: scenes at a garment-district sweatshop, a swingers sex club, the dressing-room in a stripper-club, a morgue in Harlem, New York City’s Office of the Mayor, the behind-the-scenes kitchen of a fancy-gourmet restaurant, super-elegant bathrooms and even a bowling alley in the basement of an art museum.
This piece includes a number of great color photographs, as well as a remarkable slide show of additional photographs.New York City, as in other large cities like Los Angeles or Chicago, is a city of... more
