Thorpe Park in Surrey is banning visitors from putting their hands in the air while riding its rollercoasters following complaints about body odour.
The park is even putting up signs to tell visitors to keep their arms down and 'Say no to BO'.
Mike Vallis, a director at Thorpe Park, said: "We've found that when the temperature tops 77F (25C) the level of unpleasant smells can become unacceptable and we do receive complaints. Our rides are really scary and people tend to sweat more than normal due to the fear and anticipation they experience while queueing up so it can get really pongy. Therefore, we felt a ban in temperatures of 25C plus would be the best way to ensure our guests have the most enjoyable experience and aren't exposed to any unsavoury armpits."Thorpe Park in Surrey is banning visitors from putting their hands in the air while... more
Sound too good to be true? Well, it just so happens that is exactly what's going on with Recession Ride Taxi in Essex, Vt.
Eric Hagen, the brain behind the idea, says he hasn't been short changed yet. Most people using his service pay by cash, but he has also received payment in the form of a CD by the artist and a $10 supermarket gift card.

Some kids will think of anything to make them seem taller in order to get on height restricted rides such as Nemesis or Oblivion at Alton Towers. But the resort is cracking down on children who use creative methods to make themselves appear eligible (height-wise) for the rides by introducing airport style scanners through out the park.

The new Trident Iceni is a British made sportscar powered by a GM sourced V8 turbodiesel making 550 horsepower at 3,800 rpm and a ground shaking 950 lb-ft at just 1,800 rpm. Trident claims this will thrust the 3263 lb. coupe to 60 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds. As if this isn't impressive enough, the Iceni boasts 58 mpg at 70 miles per hour, and will run on 100% biodiesel without any modification or warranty void.
Sounds pretty great huh? Well production is to be determined by how generous investors are, as Trident is just short of their production start up target. Hopefully some progressive wealthy people will see the potential here and we can get the Iceni stateside someday.

The Tour des Trees is the signature event of the Tree Research and Education Endowment Fund (TREE Fund), a 501(c)3 organization. It is a 5 to 7 day cycling event that covers distances up to and over 500 miles.
Tour des Trees riders participate in public education programs and tree planting events to help raise community awareness of the importance of urban and community trees and forests. They also help the TREE Fund raise money for the research and education programs it supports.

When reports circulated over the weekend of a last-minute deal to keep Coney Island's historic Astroland amusement park open for another year, owner Carol Hill Albert was not amused.
Indeed, her tone was bitter as she described plans to close the park Sunday night in lieu of an agreement with the city or with private developer Thor Equities, which have competing plans for the 3-acre Brooklyn site.
