There are no boundaries or guidelines when it comes to art, it can come in the form of anything you can imagine. We have encountered some incredible pieces over the years including several different forms of paper craft. Few however have captivated us the way that Yulia Brodskaya’s latest paper creation has.
This particular paper craft is something entirely different than what we have seen before. As oppose to the standard cutting and folding paper craft, Yulia implemented a quilling technique that uses strips of paper rolled, shaped, and then glued to the background. Check out some of her works of art after the jump.

When I was little, I begged my mother for a loft bed.
[go to site to view image of loft bed]
My tastes were not this refined and our ceilings not this high, but if someone had showed my ten-year-old self this photo, that ten-year-old would immediately place it in front of her mother triumphantly, exclaiming that this is exactly what she needed.
(It’s too bad that ten-year-old had just gotten a new bed frame and would use that same frame for years, until she moved bought a new bed that could accommodate more than one small woman and a cat. Sex: the killer of all twin bed frames.)
My obsession with loft beds – and lofts, and other layered sorts of things – had little to do with being up high, or having the privacy that comes with a bed out of an adult’s line of sight. I just liked the idea of using space to my advantage. I wanted to utilize as much of my bedroom as possible, creating rooms within rooms and neat little crevices. Who cares about floors and walls and ceilings when you have all this space in between?
Recently, I found out one of my friends is getting his very own loft bed. I’m jealous. I’m also excited, because his new obsession – decorating his bedroom and the space beneath his bed – has given me my own lofty ideas about utilizing and celebrating space, the most exciting of which is the idea of mobiles.
[See all of the mobiles and where to purchase them at the link below.]

33-year-old dad, Marcus McArthur, got a rejection letter from a recent interview and his 8 month old baby, Micah, thinks its hysterical when he rips it up. Maybe it will be a lot more fun if dad starts ripping those billing statements from the bank.

Most color laser printers made and sold today intentionally add invisible information to make it easier to determine where (and when) a particular document was printed. This seems to have been done as part of a secret deal between the United States Secret Service and the individual manufacturers. Some of the manufacturers have mentioned the existence of the tracking information in their documentation, and others haven't. None of them have explained exactly how it works or what information is conveyed. No law requires printer companies to help track printer users this way, and no law prevents them from stopping this practice or giving customers a solution to avoid being tracked. + interactive decoding computer program http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/free-stuff/27423-secret-dockuments-tracking-yellow-printer-dots-tracking-dot-decoding-guideMost color laser printers made and sold today intentionally add invisible information... more

How is Lokta paper made?
According to Nepalese Paper, the Lokta bush is an evergreen shrub of the Daphne species, found in the mountainous parts of Nepal above 6500 feet. They can grow up to 10 feet in height and 2 inches in diameter, and are usually ready to be pruned four years after they sprout. Although there is no uniformity regarding the method of pruning, the modern method employing sharp knives, is considered superior to the older, traditional practice of breaking and tearing down the stalks. The harvesting of Lokta also serves other important purposes as well. It allows the plants root growth to accelerate to help hold the soil in place during the two monsoon seasons Nepal gets every year, and it is the only export crop the remote villages have, thus giving them a sustainable form of income, making for a better standard of living. Historically, all Nepalese legal and legislative documents are printed on Lokta paper because it is so durable. This authentic tradition has caught on with international interest because of the environmentally sound, and natural production.More info here: http://www.ecobold.com/nepalese-paper/

Blotter Art is a term that refers to the artwork that liquid LSD is dropped onto. The artwork is printed onto "blotter" paper and then perforated into tiny squares or "hits," which can be torn apart into easy to manage quantities. In the 1960s, when LSD was legal, it was distributed in large pills, sometimes called "barrels" because of their shape. It was also sold on anything from sugar cubes to animal crackers. Dealers began to want their "batch" of LSD to be recognizable from the others, so they began to invent ways to trademark their acid. The chemists would make the pills a certain shape or color as to set them apart from others, especially if they were packaging particularly potent dosages. This also served as a form of a validation of authenticity, proving that the dealers were not selling fake LSD. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/section-blog/13313-the-lsd-blotter-art-gallery-mind-states-highzzz-documentaryBlotter Art is a term that refers to the artwork that liquid LSD is dropped onto. So is this just the next step for newspapers to catch up in a busy world? The independent today launched its 20p 'i' paper, which the paper states is for people who are short for time but want real news.
""Time-poor newspaper readers, and especially commuters, have been telling us for years that they are inundated with information and just don't have the time to read a quality newspaper on a regular basis," said Independent executive Andrew Mullins."-Independent

"Hemp is even a viable option; it can be recycled seven times, impressive compared to the four times for wood. Jim Motavalli states in "The Paper Chase" (E--The Environmental Magazine, May/June 2004) that hemp is stronger than wood, lasts longer, and the paper made from its pulp is both acid- and chlorine-free after treatments."

Researchers say they have located the world's oldest stash of marijuana, in a tomb in a remote part of China. The cache of cannabis is about 2,700 years old and was clearly ``cultivated for psychoactive purposes," rather than as fibre for clothing or as food, says a research paper in the Journal of Experimental Botany.
The 789 grams of dried cannabis was buried alongside a light-haired, blue-eyed Caucasian man, likely a shaman of the Gushi culture, near Turpan in northwestern China.
