Randy Jackson, the nice American Idol judge, admits he’s getting a little annoyed with the talentless wannabes who try out for the show hoping their stupidity gets them on TV.
Jackson participated in a telephone press conference Friday promoting the return of the ninth season of his show. And a question about wannabes was the first out of the gate:
“Yes, I am growing a little impatient,” Jackson responded. “Look. You watch the show. You know what the show is. You know every year you know someone great wins. The top 10 people are all great singers. I wonder what they (the wannabes) are seeing that we’re not seeing. I am getting a little impatient.”Randy Jackson, the nice American Idol judge, admits he’s getting a little... more

When Rage Against The Machine bagged Britain's first Christmas singles number one throughout downloads alone, hundreds of thousands of people rejoiced and the band announced they're going to put on a free gig in Britain to thank their fans.
Not everyone was happy though. Bookmakers, who largely had X Factor winner Joe McElderry as favourite, could lose huge amounts of money as a result of the surprise win.
'Killing In The Name' was originally given 100/1 two weeks ago. After the rush of recent publicity, the odds were slashed to 3/1.
"We discussed never taking bets on Christmas number ones again because X Factor seemed unbeatable," William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams said.
"It's hard to say right now how much we've lost. But the industry will definitely be paying out six figures. It could easily be over £1 million."

NME editor Kriss Murison vs Simon Cowell: the interview. Murison visited Cowell at his office in Sony Music's London HQ and grilled him with a series of questions, including some sent in by readers and famous musicians, including La Roux and Johnny Marr.
According to the Guardian, the questions are mostly hostile but Cowell, the pantomime villain (and dame) of music is surely only going to enjoy that?
Here are Cowell's answers to some specific questions.
Do you read NME?
"No. The only magazines I read are car magazines. But I know what NME is, of course, and I just thought it was amusing, bearing in mind what I do and what your readers like. I'm guessing there will be some negativity, but that's what we want."
Are you a rock music fan? (from Simon Neil, Biffy Clyro guitarist and singer):
"I went to a very, very small Stranglers gig in this horrific venue and literally everyone was gobbing at each other ... That made me realise this was not for me."
Are you passionate about music?
"Yesss ... Er, but like I say, in a way which I don't take it too seriously because I think it's enjoyment, it's a luxury."
How do you feel about ruining the music industry? (Elly Jackson, aka La Roux):
"Well, look, that's her opinion. What La Roux has to understand is that the music industry isn't dominated by us, or influenced by us for that matter. It's influenced by people who buy records and I believe in democracy."
In what way does The X Factor make the British music scene better? (Johnny Marr)
"The music industry was in a huge decline. What I would argue in my defence is that shows like Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor have actually got people more interested in music again and are sending more people into record stores. We haven't seen this kind of uplift in years."

Despite forgetting when to sing on Saturday's X Factor it appears that Robbie Williams may be in line to be judge on next year's X Factor.
Simon Cowell has said “A lot of things are going to change for next year – if we bring the show back. Possibly five on a panel. I don’t think it will be Mel B.
“I tell you who’d make a good judge – Robbie Williams. He’s fun, he’s got good instincts and he doesn’t take himself too seriously.”
Strange that Cowell said "if we bring the show back". It must be a major bank roller for him and has turned around ITV's advertising revenue.
Still with Robbie's mad randomness, it may become as compelling as watching Jedward!
