When Obama was running for President, he stated his intent to try to win the war in Afghanistan. In his defense, I think that few knew just how much the total incompetence of the Republican Bush Regime had made the war unwinnable. Nevertheless, Obama has failed to adapt to that situation. Part of the problem is that he is working with other countries and has committed not to leave them hanging. But conditions on the ground have gotten so bad that our allies are tiring of this senseless conflict. When Obama was running for President, he stated his intent to try to win the war in... more

On January 20th, FBI has taken down online most popular sharing service MEGAUPLOAD charging them with MEGA Conspiracy. Megaupload is a online sharing site which enables its users to upload any video to their servers. FBI also netted company's executives a vast cache of money and luxury cars. This news of the shutdown has angered ANONYMOUS hacker group, which retaliated by taking down FBI along with several other sites including Department of Justice and Motion picture sites and also warned(through this video) about the future attack which they call as opMegaupload

In yet another attempt to ‘ensure our liberties’, congress is currently debating Stop Online Piracy Act – aka SOPA. The very fact that their current laws are unenforceable due to a lack of personnel and funding, congress apparently feels that more laws are the answer…again. In their twisted heads, they seem to believe that by denying a dns (domain name service) entry onto the web via its ISP (Internet Service Provider), they can somehow save money. Just a few minor holes into this thing that I would like to shoot down right now.
1 – Smaller ISP’s are to be more impacted by this than the larger ones – small wonder as to why the big dogs in the major Companies support this nonsense (for a list of supporting companies, go t......

God has wrought many things out of oppression. He has endowed his creatures with the capacity to create—and from this capacity has flowed the sweet songs of sorrow and joy that have allowed man to cope with his environment and many different situations. Jazz speaks for life. The Blues tell the story of life's difficulties, and if you think for a moment, you will realize that they take the hardest realities of life and put them into music, only to come out with some new hope or sense of triumph. http://www.freeturbine.com/index.php/news/general-music-news/item/dr-martin-luther-king-jr-on-the-importance-of-jazzGod has wrought many things out of oppression. Reading the headlines today, particularly about Iran's firing a cruise missile and threatening the U.S., I thought about how conflict arises and what happens after that.
Every work day I am expected to behave as an adult. If someone offends me or hurts my feelings, I am not free to react without reflection. It is my responsibility as an adult to consider the other person's motivations, along with the context of our interaction, and then act with maturity to ensure that we might continue to work together without conflict.
If conflict seems to be inevitable, it is my responsibility to talk with the other person to find the source of our differences and then make sincere efforts to reconcile those differences. If conflict continues, I must report the situation to my supervisor, who is charged with settling such matters so that our organization might go forward without disruption.
On the world's political stage, however, a different standard seems to apply. When one nation is offended or feels its interests have been violated by another, that nation often threatens war. This is why the United Nations was organized in the 1940s- to serve as a supervisor in matters where nations may be in conflict. Many people felt that the U.N. was a way to bring adult behavior into the geopolitical arena, and for a while there was hope that war could be abolished.
Since the 1940s, millions have died in conflicts that the U.N. was unable or unwilling to resolve, and many believe that the U.N. is a toothless organization which is a waste of time and money.
It is clear, then, that if we wish to stop war, we must individually resolve to turn away from the ideas and behaviors that lead to war: greed, fear, fanaticism, intolerance, and nationalism. If we do not resolve to so so, we will end our lives in a world where threats, fear, and destruction rule. Our world will slowly but inevitably be consumed in the fires we have ignited, and the opportunity for a life which includes learning, propsperity, and love will vanish. Inside the fireball of war, our souls and bodies will transform into heat and light which consumes our world and then vanishes into the silence which stretches into infinity around our planet. How will that serve anyone's interests?

On September 17, 2011, Occupy Wall Street (OWS), a diffuse group of mostly white middle class young people began a loosely organized protest in New York’s financial district. The group planned to camp out for some extended period in Zuccotti Park, a privately owned park in Lower Manhattan open to the public. This protest against corporate greed and social inequality and other disparities between rich and poor in the United States and around the world was fueled by their own anger and frustration at living in a country in the throes of a capitalist economic crisis where their own personal futures looked grim while the government was propping up and bailing out the super rich, the very people responsible for the crisis! http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/recent-news/43044-occupy-wall-street-why-this-rebellion-deserves-our-support-On September 17, 2011, Occupy Wall Street (OWS), a diffuse group of mostly white... more

I went to my local Walgreen's today and got a surprise. They had a charging station for electric cars. This was a first for me as I didn't know that we had any set up yet, but had heard of talk about them being installed. All of these are owned by a company called Chargepoint.net and they charge $3 per hour to charge your electric car. While this is a cool idea, I think that when you charge your car at home and have to pay somewhere around 25¢ per KWh the price is a bit steep.I went to my local Walgreen's today and got a surprise. No sane person, especially someone who has had access to the elementary knowledge acquired in primary school, would agree that our species, especially those who are children, teenagers or youth, should be deprived of the right to live, today, tomorrow and forever. Never have human beings, throughout their eventful history, as persons endowed with intelligence, ever heard of an experience like that. I feel the duty to convey to those taking the trouble to read these Reflections the opinion that all of us, with no exception, are obliged to create awareness about the risks that humankind are running in an inexorable manner, towards a final and total catastrophe as the consequence of irresponsible decisions made by politicians who fate, rather than talent or merit, has placed the destiny of humankind in their hands. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/section-table/43040-genocidal-cynicism-by-fidel-castro-ruzNo sane person, especially someone who has had access to the elementary knowledge... more

As world leaders struggle to reach agreement at the COP17 negotiations, the COP17 civil society committee (C17) is issuing a rallying call to all South Africans to join civil society, organised labour, faith-based organisations, artists and musicians in a peaceful march through Durban on Saturday 3rd December.
Ordinary people from across Africa and the World are coming together to make sure their voices are heard. Some of those most affected by the impacts of changing climate will be taking part in the march including peasant farmers from across the continent and hundreds of women from South African rural communities.
C17 Global Day of Action committee convenor Desmond D’sa: “World leaders are discussing the fate of our planet but they are far from reaching a solution to climate change. If they fail to make progress we will see drought and hunger blight our country and continent even further. We call on all South African’s to march with us this Saturday and remind our leaders they must come to a fair climate change deal that avoids runaway climate change.”
Participants are invited to gather from 8:30 am at Botha’s Garden/ King Dinuzulu Garden (near the corner of Julius Nyerere Street and Dr Pixley Kaseme Street) for the pre-march rally to begin at 9:00am. Speakers will include South African and international community representatives, Bishop Geoff Davies, Bandile Mdlalose, and C17’s Desmond D’sa.
The march will follow a route past the ICC, the site of the United Nations climate change negotiations, converging en route with faith community members (who will rally at Diakonia Centre, 20 Andrew’s Street, Durban). Special needs groups and children will join the march at Speakers Corner.
Pausing at the entrance to the ICC at about 13:00, speakers will present short speeches, before statements gathered from participating groups and organisations are collectively handed over to UNFCCC Executive Secretary Christiana Figueres. Speakers will include Zwelinzima Vavi (representing labour), Nnimmo Bassey (representing Africa), Bishop Davies (representing faith communities), Aluwani Nemukula (representing youth) and Constance Mogale (representing women).
The GDA march will end at the Old Pavilion site (corner of OR Tambo parade and KE Masinga).

Story by Allen Silver Media Glitz,Ohio November 22, 2011
Atlanta's urban music producer Lord Hector Diono announces the online debut of his now international clothing line iCON® . Hector, who's real name is Lord Michael Chambers Rosenthorn published the site Friday November 19,2011. After reviewing the clothing line it's safe to say the articles of clothing and design would best be described as classic, chic and truly iconic. Hector was quick to mention that the line was designed to give everyday people a garment that would announce to their prospective communities a new mind state and self awareness that would set off both a national and international trend associated with their new found inner greatness.
The mission statement says it all, and I have to say this, I was taken back a bit when I discovered it while browsing the site, it read [Quote] “iCON® is not just a social status in today's society, but a state of mind. This wardrobe is designed for the go getter, from the greatest celebrities to the single parent that refuses to give up. We believe that any person that contributes to their own self recognized inner greatness is iconic and sets forth a trend for the rest of the world to follow.”
I liked the site and the clothing. I was mostly impressed with the fact that it's not just another T-Shirt shop for his home boys but an actual clothing line that even my girlfriend was able to purchase her first iCON pair of underwear. Lord Hector Diono was defined in the urban dictionary by the associated press in the United Kingdom, London as a Renaissance man, well that just might be as true a statement as it gets. Hector is also an underground rap singer who's music career happens to be managed by Def Jam Universal A&R veteran Michael Goldie Greaux, who also works with Nas, Rihanna,Travis Trent and a host of other artists in the music business. Hector has over 50 independent records released world wide through his independent music production company Dark Town Licensing, a subsidiary to his music label Dark Town Music Group with his most recent record release by island Def Jam Digital Music being an LP entitled “Scarecrow” (The Final Chapter). Hector's camp announced that he also has his own Android smart phone app and free to download.
From where I sit it looks to me as if the moves Lord Hector Diono is making allows for any parent to proud and any friend to be encouraged, I my self used to rap but I work behind a desk for a media company now, but Hector's mission statement on his site help me recognized that I don't have to drive a Rolls Royce to be considered by my peers to be iconic.Story by Allen Silver Media Glitz,OhioStory by Allen Silver Media Glitz,Ohio November 22, 2011

I won't use many words or statistics. Both have been used before and they don't even begin to describe was is really happening. When we go to America we have an image. An image embedded or 'incepted' by decades of Hollywood films and the media. It's part of 'The American Dream' pumped out by a factory of dreams. We don't see the real people any more. We see characters being played by actors. But this time I went out in search of the real people. And I did see them. Like I have never seen them before. I began to think, is America haunted by what it has become and the way it got here? Or is it all about fiction, sitcoms and canned laughter? America is haunted all right. The ghosts are here. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/bizzareweird/43027-la-venice-beach-how-the-american-dream-become-a-nightmareI won't use many words or statistics. When it comes to mobile operators, consumers may have four main options (now), but they are beginning to look the same - that is not a good thing. However, a new supplier, wireless Republic, based in North Carolina, is shaking things up, and an incredible $ 19 per month no contract plans. This is not just the $ 19 unlimited calling and text messaging, but mobile data.
