Frank Iero, who plays guitar for My Chemical Romance, spent some of the band's break recording and then touring with Leathermouth (Epitaph Records), his much harder-core "vehicle for unfiltered ranting," as the editor of Alternative Press calls it in a letter accompanying the band's cover story in the new issue.
But it turns out that one of Iero's angry songs, "I Am Going To Kill The President Of The United States Of America" -- written about George W. Bush, inspired by anti-America rallies he saw while on tour with the band in Europe -- was taken very seriously and quite literally by the Secret Service:
"The government comes to your house, searches everything and talks to your wife for hours," says Iero, adjusting the sleeves on his hoodie. "Then you have to get a real expensive attorney to keep you out of prison for five years. I had a long talk with the gentlemen of the Secret Service. [It was the] straight-up dark suits, sunglasses, Men In Black-vibe--I thought they were going to do the mind-erase thing [like in the movie].

Nini.FM, as she's know on mychemicalromance.com , wrote a blog yesterday night hoping someone would be kind enough to give her a ticket to the lucky Saturday shows that My Chemical Romance is playing at The Roxy Theatre on Sunset Blvd in LA. She wrote "Those shows might've been my only chance to ever see My Chemical Romance live, as concerts at bigger arenas are a bit more dangerous for me...If anyone who has tickets to the Roxy shows, no matter what day, and are willing to give one away which I'm hoping someone will please comment this blog with an email at which I can reach you. Serious offers only please." 14 year old Nini has O.I, or Brittle Bone Disease which makes it hard for her to attend larger scale shows. Another mychemicalromance.com user, ladywink, has offered her a ticket to the Saturday show. These two don't know each other, but a band brought them together. Nini is waiting to see if she got onto the list with ladywink.Nini.FM, as she's know on mychemicalromance.com , wrote a blog yesterday night... more

Hundreds of very unhappy (even more than usual) black-clad emos are set to march on the notoriously right-wing Daily Mail's headquarters in London to protest against the newspaper's coverage of My Chemical Romance and its fans.
They're especially sad (2x normal emo sadness) about recent articles in the paper that they claim wrongly casts emos as a "suicide cult".
Up to 300 protesters have already signed up and organisers have urged them to be on their best behaviour and pick up their litter. And presumably not kill themselves.Hundreds of very unhappy (even more than usual) black-clad emos are set to march on... more

Hannah Bond, a 13-year-old girl from Kent, hung herself, and Emo music has been blamed.
The coroner suggested that because Bond was so obsessive with the music it was linked to her death.
Bond had apparently talked with her friends about the "glamor" of suicide and even had a picture of an emo girl with bleeding wrist on her Bebo page. She also was obsessed with "My Chemical Romance."
According to the article, her parents seemed to think her obsession and moodiness was normal, emo was just a fashion.
Why is music always blamed? If everyone who listened to "Emo" music killed themselves there would be a lot of dead people in this world. It happens with rap music too. Not everyone who listens to rap is gonna become a ganster.
Could it be that the girl had some psychological issues on her own, regardless of the music she listened too? Hannah Bond, a 13-year-old girl from Kent, hung herself, and Emo music has been... more
