Teens Making a difference!

Dallas, Texas -- Teens With A View, a program of TWAV Entertainment, today announced the official release of a remix video and audio titled “Not Afraid” in an effort to bring awareness to their STOP WORLD HUNGER NOW campaign. The video features a group of Dallas area teens who will use the message and the proceeds of the audio to stop hunger.
According to official information from Worldhunger.com, no one really knows how many people are malnourished. The statistic most frequently cited is that of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, which measures 'under nutrition'.
The most recent estimate, released last year, says that 1.02 billion people are undernourished. Children are the most visible victims of this ‘undernutrition’. One in five children in Texas live in poverty. 377,600 (13%) percent of the population lives below the poverty line. And, more than 164,000 (43%) percent of those living in poverty are children under age 18.
TWAV Entertainment will not only use the video, found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1nANi44haQ, but will also dedicate a segment of their popular weekly web-based program, Teens With A View to bring awareness and to ignite a youth movement to get involved with stamping out hunger. “It is amazing how me and so many of my friends take eating anytime we want for granted,” said LaVoyce, the 15-year old creator and one host of the show. After doing the research and talking to some of my friends, we decided to rally youth together to STOP WORLD HUNGER NOW,” said LaVoyce.
The goal of the campaign is to activate teens at home and from across the world to understand the issues of hunger, why it exists and who is impacted and how we can help. Secondly TWAV will participate in events via school rallies, Teen events etc., to perform Not Afraid and speak on world hunger. P Diddy Visits Lil Wayne In Jail

Rap mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs paid his respect to incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne last week by visiting him at Rikers Island. According to weekend reports, Puff stopped by to see Weezy on Wednesday (April 28).

Rap mega-star Lil Wayne - locked up on a gun conviction - brought in at least one more bold-faced name this week: Diddy. The music mogul stopped by the Eric M. Taylor correctional facility to visit Lil Wayne on Wednesday. Diddy, born Sean Combs, even swapped his luxury wheels for the public bus like all the other visitors Wednesday. Diddy was on a pre-approved list to see Lil Wayne, whose real name is Dwayne Carter Jr., and the chat was limited to an hour, sources said. (New York Daily News)

Rapper T.I. recently paid homage to Wayne at a celebration ceremony in California.

T.I.'s welcome-home party was nothing short of epic - the infamous rapper was feted by the likes of Jamie Foxx, Usher and Diddy at L.A. hot spot Guys and Dolls on Sunday night, and the evening turned into a toast to the singer's future. Others on hand to welcome T.I. back on the scene included Lil' Kim, rapper Rick Ross and Amber Rose, who arrived sans Kanye Westand almost sans clothing - she wore nothing but a nude leotard. "I'm so happy to be with all of you tonight," he said. "And I cannot thank you enough for being here." Not just for T.I.: The rapper took some of the spotlight off himself when he asked the room to acknowledge another wayward star. "There are still people in the hip-hop community that need our support," he said. "So I ask everybody to please raise your glasses for Lil Wayne." (New York Daily News)

Wayne was sentenced to a year behind bars last March.

Lil Wayne has been sentenced to a year in jail after pleading guilty in a New York City gun case. The Grammy Award-winning rapper was taken away in handcuffs to start serving his term immediately after his sentencing. He'll serve his sentence in city jails, not a state prison. He could be released in about eight months with good behavior. (CBS News)

Recent reports claim ex-Rikers Island guard Amelia Negron was terminated for spying on Wayne.

Negron admits she did go into the unit, but denies she was there to see the rapper - who is serving a year-long sentence on gun possession charges - insisting she wanted to speak to a colleague. The 33 year-old is adamant the charges against her aren't true - and she's consulting lawyers over plans to file suit against her former bosses at the prison. Lil Wayne To Address Shanell Dating Rumors in Upcoming Issue of Ozone Magazine

Lil Wayne addresses his rumored romantic relationship with Young Money artist Shanell aka SNL in the upcoming issues of Ozone Magazine. In his interview, Wayne claims he has never had a sexual relationship with his artist.

"That's a rumor, sweetheart," he said. "No, it's never been a personal thing. As far as us being friends, yeah. That's my friend. Shanell is a great artist and that's it, period. She's a Young Money great artist. I heard a rumor that she was pregnant from me. How could that be? We've never had sex. How could she be pregnant from me? You've got to have sex to be pregnant. That's one of the things you have to do. I don't understand how people's brains work. You know? I'm a really big person. I'm a real superstar. I'm not afraid to tell you or nobody else, you know? I die every week [according to the rumors]. I'm in jail right now [according to the rumors]. No, [the questions] bothers you, because you have to actually think if it's true or not and come sit down and ask this dumb a** sh*t. I know you have to feel stupid, because it's like me sitting here and looking at your [brown] hair and asking you, 'Since you dyed your hair green, how do you feel?' Your hair obviously isn't green." Shanell previously said pregnancy reports stemmed from past gossip.

"Basically it came from a corny rumor that escalated," Shanell said in an interview. "First I was dating him, then I was his girlfriend, then we were getting married, then we were settling down and now I'm pregnant. It's so foolish we've haven't paid it any attention...All the rest of the rumors were kinda funny except that one. When my mother called me like, 'Um?,' [I was] like, 'No! Are you serious?' I don't care about the rumors, but I just want people to know that I'm not pregnant. I've got an album coming out, I'm a dancer, I'm in shape and children are not anywhere in my future." (MTV)

Wayne, resorting to a UStream recording, denied the pregnancy reports earlier this year.

"Let me clear up this rumor, man. Shanell is not pregnant from me," Wayne explained via UStream. "Shanell isn't even pregnant! Period. Clear that up right now, man. Everybody talking about Shanell pregnant by -- No, she not even pregnant. Period." (UStream)

Aside from being a member of Young Money, Shanell helped Wayne pen his experimental rock album, Rebirth.

"On the Rebirth album, a few of the tracks I worked on were one, 'Prom Queen,'" Shanell revealed in an interview. "'I'm So Over You,' which is on the bonus edition. A song called 'Runnin'' and 'American Star.' I really really like 'Runnin'' and how that song came about, I actuallyw was, I'd just jumped in the booth and started singing and screaming and Wayne actually liked it and said, 'Let me put a verse on it.' It was gonna be something I was probably gonna keep myself but it works out kinda the way he put it together." Lil Wayne Speaks On The Carter Documentary

Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne discussed his problems with last year's The Carter documentary and explained why he tried to ban its release. In the forthcoming issue of Ozone magazine, Weezy said he was supposed to have final approval rights.

"The fact that we didn't want it released was business; paperwork. I feel like, if I agreed to have that camera around me, then I can't tell that person what to edit when they go to the editing room, unless I am in the editing room and editing with them," he explains. "If I'm not then I shouldn't complain, but I was supposed to have a say-so because I had to approve it. And that was the whole [problem]. I didn't approve it and they still put it out...There were females on there with me and sh*t, you know? Why give them some shine when I've got baby mothers? I believe as an editor or whatever, as a person associated with me, if you want to become a real business partner with me I believe you should consider things like that. I shouldn't have to be the one to consider it." (Lil Wayne HQ)

Producer Quincy "QD3" Jones III previously spoke with SOHH about what fans could gather from his Wayne documentary.

"The documentary shows, in my opinion, Wayne at one of his most precious moments which was seven months before he dropped his platinum album, Tha Carter III and then about two to three months after" QD3 explained. "So we capture him very intimately at that time. And what I was referring to in regards to his catalog and comparing it to Tupac is his work ethic which is unbelievable and I don't know if his fans truly appreciate how dedicated he is to the recording process. I think when people see the film, it's going to raise their respect level for him even though people already hold him in a very high regard. I think when they see this film, it's gonna take it to a whole 'nother level." (SOHH)

Lil Wayne's previous request to stop the release of the QD3 Entertainment documentary was denied by a state court judge, who allowed the film's release last year.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael S. Mink denied Wayne's request for a preliminary injunction this week. QD3 executive Quincy Jones III said the ruling frees his company to seek distribution of the film. "We're very pleased with the court's decision," Jones said. "We made a great film, which was incredibly well received at Sundance, and showcases Lil Wayne's extraordinary talent." (Variety)

Despite Wayne's complaints, the documentary's popularity was shown on the iTunes' Top 10 movie release list last November.

A controversial new documentary about superstar rapper Lil Wayne has shot to the top of the iTunes movie charts. Drake- Me And Wayne Make Timeless Music

Young Money's Drake recently talked about remaining relevant in hip-hop and why his music is able to stand the test of time. In addition to rap, Drake said he still sees himself venturing into acting in the future.

"I think between myself and Lil Wayne, we make timeless music," Drake explained in an interview. "So I know it'll last for a while and when the time is right, I'll definitely go back into acting, it's a passion of mine...I'm still learning, my vulnerability and my music is key. And that's what's gonna keep me humble and keep me grounded and keep me proud to be here, grateful to be here, proud to be Canadian, all those things. I think it's so important to me...I think my music is very personal, I think I say things in my music that mean a lot to me but to a certain audience, it's not what they want to hear." Last week, the rapper talked about making a move into television.

"The album comes out on June 15th," Drake confirmed in an interview referring to Thank Me Later. "It was really just about me getting into the right creative head space and delivering a first album that people could all appreciate. So, I think I got it now. Yeah, June 15th, I'm excited...Television is sort of an exhausting, repetitive format to be in but I'm definitely, like after this album and I have another project I have in mind that I want to do but after that I'll probably get back into some movies, yeah. I'm excited to do movies again. I like being on set." (Music On Campus)

Last fall, Drake talked about working on his acting skills.

"I'm working on [acting] right now," he promised. "One of my best friends in this industry is Jamie Foxx...so hopefully we'll get to do a movie together. And I'm a big Judd Apatow, comedic timing fan. I love all those movies that they do. So, yeah, I really want to get back into acting. It's definitely something I'm interested in and always will be." He has also shown interest in having a career in culinary arts.

"I want to drop this album, then another, and then take a break to do film and study culinary arts," he tells Rolling Stone in the magazine's current issue. Once he masters his skill, the aspiring chef plans to put it to good use. "Then I'm gonna open a restaurant in Toronto. Hopefully my name will hold more weight by then." Lil Wayne Sued For $500k By Jim Jonsin Over Lollipop Song

Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne is reportedly being sued by producer Jim Jonsin who claims he was never compensated for his work on the smash hit, "Lollipop." According to Jonsin, he has yet to be paid for his contribution to the Carter III .

The producer of Lil Wayne's hit "Lollipop" is suing the rapper for $500,000 over the track. Weezy is currently serving a prison sentence for gun possession but that still hasn't stopped him getting into trouble. Jim Jonsin claims he hasn't earned any money from the smash single - which was released back in 2008 and went to number one in the US. Jonsin produced Lollipop and is credited as a co-writer. Jonsin also pointed out that the Carter III track has made millions in profits.

On behalf of himself and his company, Rebel Rock Productions, Jim Jonsin, whose real name is James Scheffer, sued Young Money Entertainment in Manhattan Federal Court. Scheffer says "Lollipop" has garnered more than 4 million downloads and more than $4 million in ringtone sales. Scheffer says the rapper promised semi-annual accounting statements, but skipped the statements due in December 2008 and June 2009. When it did provide them, the statements "grossly underreported the monies due plaintiff and were not accompanied by any payment," Scheffer says. (Court House News)

Speaking with DJ Bay Bay last year, Carter III producers Play-N-Skills said they don't blame Wayne for late payments.

"First off, shout-out to Wayne and everybody because it's really kinda a misunderstanding," they explained. "There is no lawsuit as we speak, we working everything out. But the whole thing is we had not been compensated for it right now, we haven't been paid but sometimes it takes time for paperwork to be done...The music business right now just don't like to pay nobody...The Carter III has received lawsuits, prior to us there was another sample issue, there was another producer that jumped up and it's kinda not fair to Wayne at the same time. And I'm not saying trying to take his side because homie's doing his thing. I'm sure Wayne and them got their money up front but I ain't got mine. It's close to four million records, it's one of the biggest selling albums in a long time. I just wanna get a little bit." (K104)

Last September, the duo said their issues with getting paid were nearly resolved.

"It's not officially settled, but I'm going to say we took massive steps forward to get everything resolved," they revealed in an interview. "There was never really a lawsuit, I don't know where that one really [went] left field. We were never officially suing Lil Wayne and Young Money and Cash Money, it was just we were at a producer conference and we were giving advice to young producers and I'ma say it again. Sometimes, you gotta just jump out into the water without a life vest and just go and do what you gotta do to survive. And that's what we did, we had the opportunity to be on an album like Carter 3, we'll arrange it later on, we gonna get it fixed. We handle all the paper work, that's not the case like we didn't handle our business, it's just the checks haven't been cut. Not just for Play-N-Skillz, but d*mn near every producer on that album has not been paid, you know what I'm saying? It's just a bunch of sample bullsh*t and everything else that's going on, so shout-out to Wayne, Young Money, Cash Money, it's all good daddy, let's do another one." DJ Drama Reveals Lil Wayne/T.I. Collabo For T.I.'s New Mixtape

DJ Drama has confirmed reports that he is working on T.I.'s F*ck A Mixtape project and said fans could expect guest appearance by Lil Wayne. Drama said the rapper's first post-prison release would appeal to the streets.

Without giving away too many details, Tip's longtime associate DJ Drama, confirmed with XXLMag.com that he will be hosting the tape, and fans, especially those from the King of the South's hometown, are sure to love the new songs. "He was doing his pushups and his situps, [and] now we about to have the streets in a frenzy," Dram said. "I'll just put it to you like this, Bankhead Zone One is gonna love this." Promising a lot of surprise guests, one rapper that the tightlipped DJ says will definitely appear on the tape is Lil Wayne. (XXL Mag)

Details on the mixtape began to circulate online earlier this week.

With his prison sentence finished as of March 26, T.I. is officially back and apparently looking to make a statement via the mixtape game. The ATL rapper could very well drop one of the better mixtapes of this year, as long as DJ Drama keeps the drops and shouting to a minimum. That might sound a little premature, but come on, we all heard the absolutely great "I'm Back." And the fact he's apparently returning to his grittier roots on his upcomingalbum should at least show that T.I.'s likely looking to kill it lyrically. Details remain up in the air on who will make a guest appearance F*ck A Mixtape, but I think we'll at least hear B.o.B spit a verse or two. (Prefix Mag)

The project will be followed-up by his solo album, King Uncaged.

T.I. is breaking free with his seventh studio album. The Atlanta rapper has announced a title for his next release. The follow-up to 2008's double-platinum Paper Trail will go by the name of King Uncaged, it was revealed today via Tip's website TrapMuzik.com. He has been recording with Jim Jonsin, B.o.B, Danja, and The Runners for the August 24 release. A buzz single "I'm Back" is currently No. 65 on the Billboard Hot 100. (Rap-Up)

T.I. recently promised "aggressive" content on his upcoming solo album.

"I'm happy to be home," T.I. said in a video. "I learned a lot, grew a lot and now I think it's time to put all that to good use. I didn't write too much, people might thought I was doing a lot of writing but I didn't write that much, you know. I didn't get a lot of time to. It was a lot of activity around me so I wasn't really motivated to create. I just want to continue to maintain the level of success I've been fortunate to do over and over again over the years. Well, this album is different in many ways. I think that Paper Trail was a lot more about thoughts and this is more about feelings. And this is significantly more aggressive, at this point in the production. Who knows, I could do ten love songs tomorrow and change the direction but as of right now, it's going hard.
