Former presidential hopeful, and senator Bill Bradley plans to endorse Obama.
" ' Barack Obama is building a broad new coalition that brings together Democrats, independents and Republicans by once again making idealism a central focus of our politics,' Bradley said in a release scheduled to be released on Sunday." < --- That's funny, "release scheduled to be released..." The leading Democratic candidates for President said, in last nights debate, that they would "take military action to destroy Osama bin Laden, with or without the permission of Pakistan, if that had reliable intelligence that the terrorist leader is in a specific location there."
They all also agreed that there was a need for a quick end to U.S. involvement in Iraq.

A new poll gives Democrat Sen. Barack Obama a 12 pt. lead over rival Sen. Hillary Clinton.
Another poll done by the American Research group, on Friday and Saturday, has Obama leading Clinton 38% to 26%.
Huckabee apparently did not get the same "bounce" and Obama.
John McCain gained 4% and now leads Romney 39 - 25%, Huckabee is third with 14%.

The point I'm trying to make in this video is that college students should be raising awareness about climate change (and the dangers of climactic catastrophe) at EVERY candidate event.
Also, I've been having a surprisingly awesome time at the NH primary events.
I hope we can make global warming one of the top issues for the 2008 election.
This is fun!The point I'm trying to make in this video is that college students should be... more

Is it fair for New Hampshire to have such an important say in determining our next president? No. But it's still worth it. Every four years New Hampshire becomes a veritable hub of political activity - both for politics junkies and your averaged engaged citizen. Such a highly concentrated area of engagement is unparalleled, except perhaps in Iowa.Is it fair for New Hampshire to have such an important say in determining our next... more

Republican Ron Paul vowed Thursday night to continue his presidential campaign into New Hampshire and other states.
''This is not the end. This is the beginning,'' the Texas congressman told a boisterous gathering of about 150 people at a downtown Des Moines hotel.
The crowd interrupted Paul at times, chanting ''Live free or die'' and ''Ron Paul.''
''I am more encouraged than ever before,'' he said.
Although Paul finished in fifth place, he noted that he was ahead of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.Republican Ron Paul vowed Thursday night to continue his presidential campaign into... more

Just as I suspected. Seems the Invisible Hand of the Market has decided.
According to Robin Hanson of Portfolio.com, Al Gore is the most electable erm candidate beating Hillary, all the Democrats, Giuliani and all the Republicans.
Seems you Americans are ready to get serious. Be nice to have you back in the Reality based community.
Quoting from said piece:
"Which means that InTrade's traders reckon Gore has a 58% chance of getting the nomination if he runs, and an 89% chance of winning the presidency if he's nominated, and an all-over probability of 52% that he'll become president if he throws his hat in the ring."
The blog article goes on to say:
"Meanwhile, the favorite for president, Hillary Clinton, has already thrown her hat in the ring, and is given a 48% chance of becoming president. (Giuliani's in a distant second place, on 17.6%.) Which means, I think, that Al Gore is considered to be the best presidential candidate in America, on a pure electability criterion."
He also just happens to be the best qualified person for the office.
Socrates said that any person who sought political office too readily was to be mistrusted. He said that only a person who sought office because they feared what others may do with it was acting from good intentions. Those Greeks, eh?
I recommend putting "The Assault on Reason" on your reading list btw. Some helpful hints in there for restoring the Constitution, saving democracy and so forth.

Click the link to read the posting on Red State's blog. I love the reply underneath it:
"For heaven's sake by itrytobenice
keep this under wraps, and *tight*.
You are exactly right. G/O would be formidable for us and could wax the floor with Clinton, as no one really likes her.
I'd much rather compete against Billary, with all the baggage and shrillness, than Oscar/Nobel/Drammy Winner/Mr. Personality.
I meant what I said and I said what I meant. An elephant's faithful 100 percent."
Keep this under wraps! Priceless.

The CBS poll has a margin of error of 5%.
That is a statistical dead heat.
Meanwhile on:
http://pundits.thehill.com/2007/10/26/oil-soars-fires-rage-war-looms-hillary-maneuvers-gore-surges-in-cbs-poll/
The well respected Brent Budowsky writes:
"Gores appeal is not merely his experience as vice president, congressman, senator and Nobel Laureate but the larger truth that he is a champion of a sweeping worldview and a fearless opponent of Bush wrongs at a time
when throughout the nation, Democrats and independents believe their Washington-based leaders have been timid, fearful and ineffective."
and:
"A Gore-Obama ticket could well sweep the nation and inspire the world, while inspiring the Democratic Party to far more courage and principle than it has shown at any time during the Bush years."
Somtimes pundits get it. Mostly not. But sometimes they do. And slowly the momentum is building.
Now will one of you kindly souls post this everywhere you possibly can?
Much oblged. Much obliged. The CBS poll has a margin of error of 5%.

Al, I don't think you're our savior, no one person can save a "nation that chooses to be asleep" as spoken by Princeton professor Cornel West on Bill Maher's Real Time show on HBO on September 7th! You are just the best catalyst for positive change this country could have right now! Hillary is not our best option. Rapper/Actor Mos Def said it so well on that same Real Time Episode: "Hillary Clinton is just another form of dynasty to me. They passin? the presidency around like a party joint. It goes from the Bushes, the Clintons to the Bushes and back..."! He and Professor West have endorsed Barack Obama, but I fear he doesn't have the experience to have the support needed to win. (Maybe he would make a great running mate for you as others have suggested...)
As far as Hillary is concerned, it's one thing to come up with a health plan that says what everyone wants to hear but another to come up with a realistic plan to fund it that has the feasibility of getting passed by Congress! The Democratic Congress has been a disappointment. They should have revoked the President's authorization to use force against terrorism immediately...now we are facing more impetuous reactions to Iran from the Bush Administration. It has become impossible for us, the general public, to separate fact from fiction from an Administration that ?cries wolf? and a Congress that?s so scared of offending their electorate that they stand for nothing! I respectfully submit, dear former Vice-President Gore, that the handwriting is on the wall, and that the "Inconvenient Truth" for you is that this country needs you to make this sacrifice and run for President in 2008! Global warming and your other endeavors are in place, have a life of their own, and can't they be overseen by those who already help you? You, as President, are the best hope of your initiatives in this regard coming to fruition! You will have so much support you won't know what to do with us all! Thousands of us are tempted to write your name in anyway, so you might as well make it official so it will count!
Al, I don't think you're our savior, no one person can save a "nation... more

So here's the deal. After 2004, voters in states that were not Iowa or New Hampshire felt a little disenagaged from the process of choosing the Democratic Presidential candidate. While the Dems rely heavily on the electoral votes of California and New York (among other more urban states) in the national tally, when it comes to the primaries, tradition dictates tiny New Hampshire and potentially forgettable Iowa get to choose. So, everyone's been moving around lately. So here's the deal. After 2004, voters in states that were not Iowa or New... more

This weekend the Democratic National Comittee said enough is enough in this Primary arms race. Florida who started the whole jumping the shark thing--will loose all of its delegates to the National Convention--essentially all of their votes will not count if they hold their primary earlier than FEB. 2nd I believe--its that Super DOOPER Tuesday..
It was the harshest penalty they could give... do you guys think it will stop this madness? This weekend the Democratic National Comittee said enough is enough in this Primary... more

Michigan moves to Jan 15th--which means NH can't go later than Jan. 7--which means Iowa is well--Wishing you a Caucusy Christmas and a happy Barak Obama or somethin'... Here are the points...Michigan, who is upset about the new standards for cars that they think they should get the candidates to change their minds by holding a primary before everyone else. They think if they're forced to meet new efficiency standards it would drive up the price of a new car by $6,000.If Michigan moves up to Jan. 15th--then NH would have to happen no later than Jan. 8th--Iowa needs to be 8 days before that--which could have them caucusing in mid December to avoid Christmas--if any other state moves, we could potentially cast our first vote for president in November...A DNC meeting is to happen this weekend to punish those states, including Michigan and Florida who arent playing by these rules. Rules that are in place to preserve a process that allows for lesser known candidates to have a chance.Without New Hampshire we would not have had Bill Clinton as president..TALK AWAY...)dpbMichigan moves to Jan 15th--which means NH can't go later than Jan. 7--which... more

"I asked him how he'd expect the American people to give him loyal fellowship if he was having a hard time getting it from his own family."
Giuliani's response: "There are complexities in every family in America. The best thing I can say is kind of leave my family alone, just like I'll leave your family alone."
Keller: What did you think of his answer?
Katherine: I thought it was a little defensive. I guess he's still not ready to talk about the whole thing because it's very uncomfortable for him.
