This is the Over and Under odds for team wins in the 2009 season. For those who don’t know, the numbers next to the win totals are the payouts as far as what you need to put up in order to place the bet. For example to bet on the Patriots to win Over 11.5 wins next year, you would have to put up $120 to win $100 (Over -120). If the odds are a positive number then it works the opposite way; for example to bet the Titans to not win more than 9.5 games next year (Under +120) you would win $120 on a $100 bet. The Buccaneers and Patriots have been two of the NFL's most successful teams in recent years, combining to win four of the past seven Super Bowls. Both clubs are strong contenders for a return trip to the playoffs this season.
The contest will mark the third consecutive year of a competitive (regular-season) game at Wembley. On October 26, the New Orleans Saints beat the San Diego Chargers 37-32 in front of an 83,226 crowd, while the New York Giants overcame the Miami Dolphins 13-10 in October 2007 on their way to winning Super Bowl XLII. With Tom Brady's absence from the Patriots' injury report this week, what some might consider the second-most famous 56-game streak in sports history comes to a quiet end.
The franchise quarterback's name does not appear on the injury report for the first time since the opening game of the 2005 season. Brady had been listed as "probable" with a right shoulder injury every game for four seasons, including 48 regular-season and eight playoff games.
It is the clearest sign yet that the 2007 NFL Most Valuable Player is ready for Sunday's season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady, who has been dealing with a sore right foot, did not take a snap during the Patriots' four preseason games, but had full participation in practice yesterday.
Of course, Brady's most important streak remains alive: He has made 127 straight regular season and playoff starts, the third-longest among quarterbacks, trailing Brett Favre (272) and Peyton Manning (174).by Chad Finn, Globe Staff September 5, 2008 03:32 PM

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. - The NFL has suspended New England Patriots running back Kevin Faulk for the team's opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
Faulk was also fined two game checks.
Faulk's suspension began Saturday. He will be eligible to return to the team Sept. 8, the day after New England's opener against Kansas City.
In July, a judge in Lafayette, La., sentenced the 32-year-old Faulk to a year of probation after he pleaded no contest to misdemeanor marijuana charges. Faulk had been issued a misdemeanor summons for possession of marijuana at a Li'l Wayne concert at the Cajundome in February.
Last season, Faulk had 47 catches for 383 yards and one touchdown. He also had 62 rushes for 265 yards.
