In the mid 1700’s, there lay on a new continent clusters of colonies from many countries populated by many different people. Some were there as outcasts from their parent nation, and some to escape tyranny or oppression. Some came seeking to make a new life, and some in service of another. Battles were fought on this relatively new land as extensions of hostilities of the parenting nations. When the dust settled and the fighting stopped, the colonists for the most part became united in the populated areas under English rule. People of every origin and background were now merged together under the rule of the English crown and sought to make their own fortunes as best they co....
...We learn, and we seek solutions. Do any of you now understand why it is that those whom are either anarchical or voluntary in nature are far more beneficial to the real American ideal then statism or a corruptible republic could ever be? Do you see how the cries of a democracy can bring so much damage when those who raise their voices do so in ignorance? It has been well over 200 years since all this came about, and it is inexcusable to continue following 200 year old mistakes! All I can say is that if people don’t open their eyes soon, then their collective voices will bring us all to ruin.

Fighting Owl Films, a rapidly emerging independent film production group in Mobile, Alabama, announced the completion of principal photography on the Thomas Smith-directed supernatural-adventure-comedy The Night Shift, starring Khristian Fulmer, Erin Lilley, Soren Odom and Jonathan Pruitt. Shot locally, the film utilized talent, locations and crew from within the community. The film will now enter post-production for completion and is currently seeking distribution.
"The Night Shift is a supernatural-adventure-comedy about Rue Morgan, the undead night watchman at Pinewood Oaks Cemetery. Rue, along with his buddy Herb, a limbless corpse, spends his nights trying to keep the cemetery’s cantankerous residents in, and his days dreaming of a date with hard-nosed day-shifter, Claire. It’s an okay afterlife until a scourge of supernatural occurrences leaves Rue not only watching the cemetery, but also watching his back!"

Amnesty International UK's 2010 Special Award for Journalism Under Threat was dedicated to all independent media workers in Burma who bravely work in difficult and dangerous conditions.
The award was won by Independent Media Workers in Burma and the DVB - the Democratic Voice of Burma - was cited also, for their coverage of unrest and violence in that country.
Burmese imprisoned journalists Ngwe Soe Lin and Hla Hla Win are featured.

The Anti-Trafficking Monitoring Group, which is made up of a number of different human rights groups are asking for an independent watchdog to monitor UK Border Agency. The group says officials aren't helping the victims of trafficking because they target them as the criminals instead of the traffickers.
"In one case, it says a West African woman was told that although it must have been "extremely unpleasant" to be forced to have sex with strangers, this did "not amount to trafficking" because she had failed to escape when she had the opportunity.
In another instance, it says a woman forced into domestic slavery was told that as this had happened in 2008 she should now have "overcome any trauma". "-BBC
In 2009 called for more anti-trafficking phonelines to help people who have been trafficked into the sex industry in the UK. "In Italy, a freephone trafficking hotline for clients to anonymously report concerns and for victims to expose their criminal bosses receives thousands of calls and has helped thousands of women to be rescued."-http://tinyurl.com/3xrfld5

The political philosophy known as juche became the official autarkic state ideology of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in 1972.1 Although foreign scholars often describe juche as “self-reliance,” the true meaning of the term is much more nuanced.
