From BBC: Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says he has returned to his country, almost three months after the coup which overthrew him.
"I am here in Tegucigalpa," he told local TV. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez also said Mr Zelaya was back. But de facto Honduran President Roberto Micheletti said Mr Zelaya was "in a hotel suite in Nicaragua". And a UN spokeswoman denied a report that Mr Zelaya was in its office in Tegucigalpa, reported Efe news agency.
The left-leaning president had been living in exile in Nicaragua since being ousted at gunpoint on 28 June.
The country's de facto rulers, led by Mr Zelaya's former ally Roberto Micheletti, have threatened to arrest him if he returns. "I cannot give details, but I'm here," Mr Zelaya told Channel 36 television by telephone. He said he was "here for the restoration of democracy, to call for dialogue".From BBC: Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya says he has returned to his... more

from BBC: The ousted president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, is on the country's border with Nicaragua, as he tries to return home.
Mr Zelaya has been in exile for nearly a month after he was forced from his position by a coup, and has previously tried to return by plane.
The interim government has said it will arrest him if he sets foot in Honduras.
Talks in Costa Rica aimed at resolving the political crisis collapsed two weeks ago with no agreement.
Mr Zelaya was exiled on 28 June after a crisis erupted over his attempts to hold a vote on changing the constitution.
On Friday, he was reported to have arrived at the Las Manos border post between Honduras and Nicaragua, where he has been staying.
The interim government, led by Mr Zelaya's former ally, Roberto Micheletti, has imposed a curfew along the Nicaraguan border.
People living close to the border have been ordered to stay at home between midday local time (1800GMT) and 0600 (1200GMT) to "keep the peace".
There were reports that security forces had fired tear gas at supporters of Mr Zelaya, who were attempting to travel to the border to greet him.
Mr Zelaya, who insists he remains the democratically-elected leader of Honduras, had previously attempted to return home on 5 July.
On that occasion, his plane was prevented from landing when the Honduran military blocked the runway.from BBC: The ousted president of Honduras, Manuel Zelaya, is on the country's border... more

In a move that he said would lead to a return to power, Honduras' deposed president set up base near his country's border, urging soldiers to ignore an arrest order against him and shrugging off warnings that his homecoming could provoke violence.
Manuel Zelaya drove a jeep to Esteli, a town 25 miles south of the Honduran border, where he shut himself inside a hotel Thursday night to plan a strategy for reclaiming the presidency from the interim government that sent him into exile.
He said he would make a second bid to return home as early as Saturday, saying U.S.-backed mediation efforts had broken down. The interim government vows to arrest the president if he sets foot in Honduras, and imposed a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew along border areas.

From BBC: Interim Honduran leader, Roberto Micheletti, says he is willing to step down, but only if ousted President Manuel Zelaya does not return.
Mr Micheletti told reporters he would be prepared to make the move for "peace and tranquility" in Honduras.
He took over at the head of a military-backed interim Honduran government after Mr Zelaya was bundled out of the country on 28 June.
The authorities have reinstated a curfew, due to "continued threats".
The curfew will be in place from midnight to 0500, to counter "groups who seek to provoke disturbances and disorder," said a statement issued by the interim government.
Mr Micheletti's latest comments to reporters in the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa, came as supporters of the ousted Mr Zelaya threatened to call strikes in protest at his overthrow.
On Wednesday, Mr Zelaya - who is internationally recognised as the legitimate president - said his supporters had "the right to insurrection" in their bid to see him reinstated.
Mr Zelaya, a leftist, was forced out of office amid a row with the country's Congress and the courts over plans to hold a referendum on abolishing the current one-term restriction on presidents.
Such a move could have seen Mr Zelaya run for a second term.
The chief mediator, Costa Rican President Oscar Arias, has called the rival factions to a new round of talks on Saturday.
Previous talks have failed to produce a breakthrough, but Mr Arias - a Nobel prize laureate - is urging both sides to be patient. From BBC: Interim Honduran leader, Roberto Micheletti, says he is willing to step... more

Mr Zelaya said Hondurans were within their rights to demonstrate, go on strike, or even rise up against the interim Honduran government.
He was addressing a news conference in Guatemala, alongside his left-leaning counterpart, Alvaro Colom.
International efforts are underway to resolve the Honduran crisis peacefully.
Mr Zelaya was bundled out of Honduras on 28 June, but is widely recognised internationally as the legitimate president.

From BBC: Ousted Honduran leader Manuel Zelaya is expected to arrive in Washington later on Tuesday for a meeting with US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The talks follow Mr Zelaya's abortive attempt to return home at the weekend.
Washington has sharply criticised the use of violence by troops loyal to the interim authorities, which saw at least one Zelaya supporter killed on Sunday.
The interim leadership has also sent a delegation to Washington to try to make their case and discuss the next steps.
The representatives are expected to hold talks with the Organization of American States (OAS), which has condemned the transfer of power in Honduras as a "military coup" and suspended the country's membership.
Mr Zelaya, who was removed from office on 28 June accused of violating the constitution, is expected to press the US to impose economic sanctions on the government of interim leader Roberto Micheletti.
In Honduras itself, supporters of the president have vowed to widen protests and block trade.

From BBC: At least one person was killed when Honduran troops tried to disperse supporters of ousted President Manuel Zelaya at Tegucigalpa airport.
Thousands tried to reach the airport as Mr Zelaya's plane flew in from the US while the interim authorities insisted it would not be allowed to land.
They are seeking to re-route the plane to El Salvador instead.
But speaking from the plane, Mr Zelaya appealed to the military to let him land "in the name of God".
Mr Zelaya, who was removed from power just over a week ago, left Washington at 1900 GMT and was due to reach the Honduran capital, Tegucigalpa, about four hours later.
He issued a defiant message en route.
"I am the commander of the armed forces, elected by the people, and I ask the armed forces to comply with the order to open the airport so that there is no problem in landing and embracing with my people," he was quoted as saying by the Associated Press news agency.
"I have sufficient spiritual strength, blessed with the blood of Christ, to be able to arrive there and raise the crucifix."
He is being accompanied on the plane by UN General Assembly President Miguel D'Escoto Brockmann and a number of journalists.
The presidents of Argentina, Ecuador and Paraguay and the head of the Organization of American States (OAS) left Washington at the same time as Mr Zelaya, bound for El Salvador to monitor events.

From BBC: The interim government in Honduras says it will block any attempt by ousted President Manuel Zelaya to return.
Foreign Minister Enrique Ortez said that any plane carrying Mr Zelaya would not be allowed to land.
But Mr Zelaya, removed by troops a week ago, says he still intends to return to the Central American nation later today to reclaim his post.
The stand-off comes a day after the top regional body, the OAS, suspended Honduras over the crisis.
Supporters of the ousted leader were said to be gathering in the capital, Tegucigalpa, in order to meet him at the airport.
The BBC's Stephen Gibbs, in the capital, says there are growing fears of violence. The capital's archbishop has warned of a possible "bloodbath".
"I imagine there'll be blood and I'm ready for it. We're not afraid," Zelaya supporter Marisol Velasquez told AFP.

"Tensions are rising in Honduras after President Manuel Zelaya ignored a court order to reinstate the army chief.
Mr Zelaya fired Gen Romeo Vasquez after he refused to help with a referendum on constitutional change that could allow the president to seek a second term.
Both Congress and the courts have already deemed the planned referendum unlawful.
The Supreme Court ordered Gen Vasquez reinstated on Thursday but Mr Zelaya told crowds he refused to comply.
"We will not obey the Supreme Court," the president told cheering supporters in front of the presidential offices.
"The court, which only imparts justice for the powerful, the rich and the bankers, only causes problems for democracy," he said."

The Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) is an attempt to expand the failed North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) to every country in Central America, South America and the Caribbean, except Cuba. Negotiations began right after the completion of NAFTA in 1994 and were supposed to have been completed by January 1, 2005.
But an exciting thing happened: the FTAA was not signed on January 1st. Led by strong social movements across the hemisphere, countries like Venezuela, Argentina, Bolivia, and Brazil have said NO to a model that has increased poverty across the globe, and are instead searching for a better model of regional integration.
Add your support to the thousands of people who are organizing to show that NAFTA should not be expanded but should be replaced with an international system of cooperation that fosters social equality, human rights, cultural diversity, environmental sustainability, and community well being. We've stopped the FTAA - for now. And now we MUST STOP CAFTA!!
Groups around the hemisphere have also been working together on an alternative agreement that will offer a workable vision of what a fair trade agreement would look like (see www.asc-hsa.org).The Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) is an attempt to expand the failed North... more
