If she could leave nothing else with people she ministers to, Dr. Lang would just want them to understand that Jesus is not some distant, unreachable, untouchable thing. He is a Friend who sticks closer than a brother and a very present help in time of trouble.

This paper is a history of the Israeli nuclear weapons program drawn from a review of unclassified sources. Israel began its search for nuclear weapons at the inception of the state in 1948. As payment for Israeli participation in the Suez Crisis of 1956, France provided nuclear expertise and constructed a reactor complex for Israel at Dimona capable of large-scale plutonium production and reprocessing. The United States discovered the facility by 1958 and it was a subject of continual discussions between American presidents and Israeli prime ministers. Israel used delay and deception to at first keep the United States at bay, and later used the nuclear option as a bargaining chip for a consistent American conventional arms supply. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/your-details/43067-a-history-of-the-israeli-nuclear-weapons-program-the-third-temples-holy-of-holiesThis paper is a history of the Israeli nuclear weapons program drawn from a review of... more

The Fire Service Union said 79% of its work force approve dthe strike becuase the service in London is facing a mass of jobs loses after a dispute over shift hours and community safety work.

* Firefighters currently work 15-hour night shifts and 9-hour day shifts

The minster at the Justice Department stated he 'may have overreacted' after he hired a private detective to discover a source for the leaked expenses rumours about him. The allegations claimed Jonathan Djanogly used £13,000 of expenses money to fund a cleaner and au pair.
The investigation by the hired detective took the disguise of a fake news article, which allowed the detective firm to gather Djanogly's aides opinions of him.
"A report by Morris Chase International, private investigators, in July last year found that aides in his local party in Huntingdon considered him "dishonest", "lazy" and a "disaster". They said he should be deselected, and they believed he had lied over his expenses claims,"-Guardian

Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde said he knew how the mining barons in ore rich districts of Karnataka operated. Hence, no individual can claim that he is has no mining lease in Bellary and therefore he is not into illegal mining.
"We know how the system works in Bellary. So if somebody says that I have no mining lease in Bellary and I am not into illegal business, I do not subscribe to it".
It was a conflict between a corrupt political system and the well-being of the people of Karnataka.
Karnataka Government should hand over the inquiry to the CBI because The issue is not restricted to only this State, but has national and international ramifications.
The disappearance of 23 lakh tonnes of iron ore from Belikeri port, even after being seized by the Lokayukta, questions the very existence of the Government.

Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea was hit in the face with a pie at an event on Monday in Burlington, Ont., a news station is reporting.
Shea was delivering a speech at the Canada Centre for Inland Waters to open the Aquatic Life Research Facility when a woman stood up in the front row and plated the white cream pie squarely into Shea's face, according to Hamilton-based CHCH News.
The woman made some remarks about the seal hunt before being ushered away, reported CHCH, which captured the event on video. The woman is now in custody.
The pie aimed at Shea was apparently made of tofu, though the fisheries minister told the Hamilton Spectator that it "tasted like shaving cream."
After getting the cream wiped off her face, Shea finished her speech.Fisheries and Oceans Minister Gail Shea was hit in the face with a pie at an event on... more
It seems that it won't be long before you'll find facial recognition technology when you apply for a driver's license. And as a result, you better wipe that smile off your face.
In fact, the technology is already in place in Australia. When Aussie drivers apply for licenses they'll have their pictures taken, and the new software will then measure three distances: the spaces between the eyes, nose, and mouth.
License applicants won't notice a drastic difference in the process, but they'll notice they are asked not to smile while the photo is being taken. The machines require a "neutral expression" in order to pick up the correct measurements. According to creators of the facial recognition software, two photos of the same person can be mismatched if there is a strong expression in one versus the other.
Why all the fancy technology? Australia is using the calculations in comparison to the Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA) database, and if it appears that an applicant is trying to get a license under a different name the system will flag the authorities.
Although it's stated that the "system is designed to prevent people who have had their license taken away from applying for a second one," stopping "license cheats" is only the skin-deep argument.
The deeper issue is identity theft. According to David Borger, the state of New South Wales' assistant transport minister, "Identity fraud costs Australia more than $3.5 billion a year." That's about a third of a percent of the nation's entire gross domestic product, almost as much as New South Wales spends on its entire road system in a year.
If it sounds like things are getting all Minority Report in the land Down Under, well, that's nothing compared to what could potentially happen in the U.S.
In fact, four states already implement the "no smiling" rule, including Arkansas, Indiana, Nevada and Virginia. Over 30 in the U.S. have a digital photography capture for their identification cards.
Between the security measures states are adding, the trials of Enhanced Driver's Licenses (EDLs), the federal government's Real ID program, and corporations actively planning for higher security, a mere RFID chip is going to look like the 19th century when you could just write an "X" to sign your name.
And unsurprisingly, a number of people aren't exactly happy about it.It seems that it won't be long before you'll find facial recognition... more
Economy Minister Tremonti has just unleashed a debate on all the Italian newspapers stating that a permanent job is better than a precarious one. It's such an obvious statement, as he admitted himself, but caused a sensation because in our country at least since 10 years almost all political forces have carefully refrained from defending permanent work. Widespread precarious jobs with fixed-terms and low wages contracts are the land of toys for Italian companies, who have no intention of giving them up.Economy Minister Tremonti has just unleashed a debate on all the Italian newspapers... more
When French immigration minister Eric Besson calls the Calais "jungle" camp clearance a "dignified" success, Alan Johnson expresses his "delight" and immigration minister Phil Woolas questions whether these refugees deserve sanctuary, they expose the asylum system as profoundly broken.

22/09/2009: At 8am in the morning some 600 CRS riot police moved on the Calais refugee "Jungle", under the orders of French immigration minister Eric Besson, to destroy the camp and arrest all the remaining refugees.
The camp usually held up to 1500 people, but many had fled and gone underground, leaving 300 refugees, nearly half of those were children.
Besson announced the operation would be "dignified", but this footage reveals a very different picture, as children as young as 11-years were dragged away and seperated from the only parental figures they had known since fleeing their country.
The camp was cleared in nearly 15 minutes. All refugees were put on buses and taken away to the nearby detention centre in Coquelles to be processed. Then bulldozers and men with chainsaws entered the camp to start the dismantling process.
At 1pm Besson arrived to view his success and paraded around the flattened camp with the international media circus he so desperately needed to publicise his poltical triumph, just as Nicolas Sarkozy (then immigration minister) had done during the Sangatte camp closure in 2002.
