A software flaw in Apple Inc's iPhones and iPads may allow hackers to build apps that secretly install programs to steal data, send text messages or destroy information, according to an expert on Apple device security. Charlie Miller, a researcher with Accuvant Labs who identified the problem, built a prototype malicious program to test the flaw. He said Apple's App Store failed to identify the malicious program, which made it past the security vetting process.

Former Kyle XY actor Matt Dallas says he was the victim of a Twitter hacking Wednesday – and his fans, who were awaiting his weekly live stream webcasts, were on the receiving end of a sexy nude photo which they believed to be his.
The 28-year-old’s Twitter account allegedly linked to an explicit self-snapped image that shows an unidentified male holding his erect penis, covered with cum on his belly.
Moments later the Twitter message was removed, according to a fan. Dallas eventually told fans he was a victim of a hacking.
He wrote: “Wow. I’ve reached the popularity of being hacked. Ha. a 1st for evrything. Taken necessary measures 2 make sure that nvr happens again.”
Fans noticed that the hacked tweets were sent from the same “Twitter for BlackBerry®” account he uses on a regular basis, prompting them to believe he sent it himself.
Here’s the story according to a TabloidProdigy.com reader:
Tonight right before Matt Dallas from Kyle XY went online to do a streaming video he does, a random tweet appeared on his twitter feed…. twice actually….The same picture below and both of them said tweeted from “Twitter for Blackberry” which is what HE uses….
The pics were taken down very quickly with no explanation of him being “hacked” or anything…
What do you think? Is Matt Dallas really a victim of a Twitter hacker? Or did he accidentally show the world his goodies?

Forget your car keys? Soon it won’t make a difference, as long as you have your laptop. An interesting viral Web video (see below) making the rounds since the Black Hat cybersecurity conference earlier this month depicts two researchers from iSEC Partners (a San Francisco-based security firm) breaking into a 1998 Subaru Outback via their PC. In less than 60 seconds, they wirelessly find the car’s security system module, bypass it and start the engine remotely. iSEC researchers Don Bailey and Mat Solnik claim to be able to hack their way into a securely locked car because its alarm relies on a cell phone or satellite network that can receive commands via text messaging. Devices connecting via a cellular or satellite network are assigned the equivalent of a phone number or Web address. If hackers can figure out the number or address for a particular car, they could use a PC to send commands via text messages that instruct the car to disarm, unlock and start. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/free-stuff/43000-thieves-could-steal-cars-via-text-messages-in-60-secondsForget your car keys? On Saturday, Lulz Security announced what would be their final release, indicating that the group of six (according to the release) would disband. Unlike past releases, which have been fraught with gloating and taunting messages, the press release that went with the information release was almost wistful, talking about their love of the “chaotic thrill of entertainment and anarchy”, and how such things entertain. It even went philisophical, stating that these things are “what we all crave, even the seemingly lifeless politicians and emotionless, middle-aged self-titled failures. You are not failures. You have not blown away. You can get what you want and you are worth having it, believe in yourself.”. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/free-stuff/42977-lulzsec-final-releaseOn Saturday, Lulz Security announced what would be their final release, indicating... more

Internet hackers have acquired a dubious reputation for piracy, sabotage and the spilling of sensitive secrets, but an authoritative Vatican publication appears to rehabilitate them and traces parallels between hacker philosophy and the teachings of Christianity. The surprisingly charitable view of hackers was expressed by the Jesuit priest Father Antonio Spadaro in an article for the fortnightly magazine Civilta Cattolica, the text of which is vetted by the Vatican Secretariat of State prior to publication. http://www.makeahistory.com/index.php/free-stuff/42939-vatican-says-computer-hackers-are-more-saint-than-sinnerInternet hackers have acquired a dubious reputation for piracy, sabotage and the... more

An Iranian hacker has claimed responsibility for an attack on a computer security firm that exposed millions of internet users to potential surveillance.
The hacker said his attack was mounted in revenge for the Stuxnet virus attack on his country's nuclear programme.
The boast follows a major security breach at Comodo Group, a “certification authority” which acts as an independent third party to ensure communications between users and websites are properly encrypted. The integrity of such encryption is a fundamental part of web security, foiling attackers who could otherwise easily monitor emails or steal online banking details.
Messages posted online on Saturday claimed that a lone 21-year-old hacker was able to hack into Comodo “very, very fast”. “Comodohacker”, as he named himself, said he used his “experience of 1,000 hackers” to defend Iran’s leadership and nuclear scientists against international and domestic opponents.
In one lengthy message, in flawed English, he boasted: “I know you are really shocked about my knowledge, my skill, my speed, my expertise and entire attack. That's okay, all of it was so easy for me.”
Comodohacker railed especially against Stuxnet, a highly sophisticated virus that last year disrupted centrifuge control systems at Iran’s uranium enrichment site at Natanz. Forensic investigations of the attack have strongly indicated it was a joint operation by US and Israeli secret intelligence services.
“When USA and Israel creates Stuxnet, nobody talks about it, nobody blamed, nothing happened at all, so when I sign certificates nothing should happen, I say that, when I sign certificates nothing should happen,” Comodohacker said.
“If you was doing a dirty business in internet inside Iran, I suggest you to quit your job, listen to sound of most of people of Iran, otherwise you'll be in a big trouble, also you can leave digital world and return to using abacus.”
Comodohacker’s messages implicitly denied any government involvement, but threatened dissidents.
“Anyone inside Iran with problems, from fake green movement to all MKO [an armed dissident group] members and two faced terrorists, should afraid of me personally,” he claimed.
“As I live, you don't have privacy in internet, you don't have security in digital world, just wait and see.”
