Don't get me wrong: Huckabee is MY only choice for president right now. He's genuine, honest, has strong convictions, believes what he believes fervently, has a plan for america, and was a good governor in almost every aspect of the word. However, it's one thing to have chuck norris's endorsement: and another to have him be an integral part of a commercial in Iowa. I don't think it was neccessary for Mike to do this. Chuck Norris jokes are old, but that's not the point. I like mike's sense of humor a lot, but this may have gone to far... his convictions, plan for america, and personality can support themselves without chuck norris jokes getting involved. he still has my vote though
what do you guys think?Don't get me wrong: Huckabee is MY only choice for president right now. He's... more

John Beaudoin, publisher of two Iowa newspapers, can't seem to get face time with Hillary Clinton. Except for Rudy Giuliani, which he just has to schedule, Hillary has been the hardest interview to score. To date, he has spoken to every 2008 candidate, including new candidate Fred Thompson, but the Clinton camp continues to evade this important Southern Iowa quadrant. Mr. Beaudoin speaks about his pursuit of the near impossible Hillary interview and who he thinks will ultimately take the presidency in 2008.John Beaudoin, publisher of two Iowa newspapers, can't seem to get face time with... more

I don't think anyone was too surprised when San Francisco legalized gay marriage. But Iowa? That's pretty cool.
A Polk County, Iowa judge ruled in a case brought by 6 gay couples that a state law allowing marriage only between a man and woman violated the constitutional rights of due process and equal protection and was inherently unfair.
The fight is, of course, far from over. The county will appeal to the state Supreme Court, and is seeking a 'stay' - basically meaning that current law (banning gay marriage) would stand (making all the licenses issued so far invalid) until the issue is resolved.I don't think anyone was too surprised when San Francisco legalized gay marriage.... more
