Gustavo Moncayo is an elementary school teacher in Sandona, Narino province (southeast of Colombia). His son, Private Pablo Emilio Moncayo is one of the soldiers who has been held hostage by the FARC for the longest time, as he was kidnapped in 1997. Driven by despair, profesor Moncayo, decided 6 months ago to chain his hands in protest against the situation of his son. Later, aware that his effort was achieving hardly anything, decides to start a walk through half of this country (his hometown is 1005 kilometers far from Bogota) to the capital city with the hope to get his son free again or to put pressure on the government and the FARC to start a humanitarian agreement to help all people held hostage in Colombia. His journey started more than one month ago he doesn't walk alone anymore, as people join him in every town he has passed by.

Since the mid-90's, some groups believe that the CIA has operated a programme called extraordinary rendition in which suspected terrorists captured in Western nations are transported to secret locations for torture and interrogation . The extraordinary rendition programme is allegedly largely carried out using leased equipment and private contractors.The Institute for Applied Autonomy, an anonymous collective of artists designers, activists and engineers, have created an imagined CIA travel agency specialising in extraordinary rendition flights, based on the information collected by plane spotters and journalists of actual specific flights of specific people who have been rendered.
The group's stated mission is to develop technologies that extend the autonomy of human activists in public acts of expression. The two week time frame of social conscious and memory is sometimes not enough when the issues are this serious. The installation was part of the Social hacking event in Plymouth.

Special prosecutor to probe CIA interrogations

The Obama administration is assigning a veteran prosecutor to begin a criminal probe of CIA questioning of terror suspects during the Bush administration, and a new detainee interrogation unit is being created to be supervised by the White House, officials said Monday.

The announcement came within minutes of the release of a newly declassified CIA document describing how interrogators threatened to kill the children of a Sept. 11 suspect.

According to the report, one interrogator said a colleague had told Khalid Sheikh Mohammed that if any other attacks happened in the United States, "We're going to kill your children."

Another interrogator allegedly tried to convince a different terror suspect detainee that his mother would be sexually assaulted in front of him — though the interrogator in question denied making such a threat.

Attorney General Eric Holder announced he was appointing John Durham, a federal prosecutor in Connecticut, to investigate alleged CIA abuses during the Bush era.

The administration also announced that all U.S. interrogators will follow the rules for detainees laid out by the Army Field Manual. That decision aims to end years of fierce debate over how rough U.S. personnel can get with terror suspects in custody.

Formation of the new interrogation unit for "high-value" detainees does not mean the CIA is out of the business of questioning terror suspects, deputy White House press secretary Bill Burton told reporters covering the vacationing President Barack Obama on Martha's Vineyard in Massachusetts.

Burton said the unit will include "all these different elements under one group" and will be located at the FBI headquarters in Washington.

The unit, to be known as the High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group, is to be led by an FBI official, with a deputy director from somewhere in the government's intelligence apparatus and members from across agencies. It will be directly supervised by the White House, but senior administration officials said the unit's agency bosses will make operational decisions.

Officials also said that in cases where terror suspects are transferred to other countries, the U.S. will work harder to ensure they are not tortured.
