The Daily Show's John Oliver put togther a stunning smackdown of Fox News on last night's show, punctuated by some damning clips showing egregious comments from some anchors (John Gibson, natch) and some — gasp! — flip-flopping on certain positions (like, say, executive privilege). Watch as Oliver tries to sneak into Fox HQ dressed as the Statue of Liberty, hosts a pundit shoutfest, and waves many flags. The Daily Show's John Oliver put togther a stunning smackdown of Fox News on last... more
A project I did for contemporary issues class. we had to pick a social issue and go with it. My main criticism with this film is the Jena 6 section. I feel this section is relevant because it shows how right can easily be taken away from the wealthy. Bill O'Reilly has been accused of saying nasty things about homeless veterans these days. Namely that they don't exist or are an unimportant problem. How many gaffs will O'Reilly get away with before they fire his bigoted, sexually preoccupied hind end?
Kelly Tilghman with the Golf Channel made a crack about the rest of the PGA Tour lynching Tiger Woods and she and Tiger are friends and yet she took a voluntary two week suspension for the insensitive comment. She did that after Tiger had already said he liked Kelly, that she was a friend and that it was "no big deal at all."
Now here comes O'Reilly (after Imus loses his radio show) and he makes about his 20th absolutely moronic comment in a year and the FAUX "News" Channel does what?
Nothing so far.
Let's don't let this one die down so quickly. He was chasing a quote taken out of context by the right wing media that had Michelle Obama erroneously saying something that was part of a longer statement.
What she said was this. "Hope is making a comeback and, let me tell you, for the first time in my adult life I am really proud of my country, not just because Barack is doing well, but I think people are hungry for change."
Now, when you listen to the Radio Righties, the quote has suddenly been woefully shortened to become "for the first time in my adult life I am really proud of my country.", That is plain old B.S.
Of course, they are playing this to the hilt - listen to what O'Reilly said about checking up on what she stood for.
Don't let these slingers of mud get away without getting a generous helping of mud thrown back at them. At FAUX, the Swiftboating had already begun however, this particular shortened quote needs to blow up in their face.
And O'Reilly needs a "Time-Out"! Let's suggest he gets a long one.

Just as they had rather report on the trials and tribulations of troubled entertainer, Brittany Spears, instead of reporting anything bad that happens in Washington or Iraq, FAUX "News" Channel's inimitable Bill O'Reilly was recently caught in another of his oral blunders. (He is so often skewered by his inflated ego and his penchant for lying about not spinning things that Keith Olbermann's nickname for him is Bill Orally.)
Watch here as Andrea Mackris' one time wannabe shower-mate again gets himself in trouble by spinning out of control in a zone he has untruthfully-named the "No Spin Zone".
I laugh every time I see FAUX "News" use their ill-gotten slogan of "Fair and Balanced". Then, when they add, "We report. You decide." It makes me mumble, "We Report Rubbish. You Decide If You Want to Take the Bait", under my breath.
I guess there are enough people who have never bothered to check on his objectivity or read about the Andrea Mackris lawsuit that apparently lists, word for word, his recorded sexual suggestions to her over the phone. One such particularly graphic page in the lawsuit she filed is here: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/1013043mackris14.html
Without further ado, I'll leave you to draw your own conclusions about whether you'd want your children to read his latest book targeting young readers. ("The O'Reilly Factor for Kids: A Survival Guide for America's Families") I wonder how a girl young enough to be his daughter, Andrea Mackris, would have been counseled in the book.
This piece exposes another in his long line of completely moronic O'Reilly Factor statements.
At least Michael Savage's sponsors are leaving him in droves after actually having their attention called to the hate and venom spewed by Savage a.k.a. Weiner on his program "The Savage Nation." I just wish Orally's sponsors would place spots on the "Factor" based on its truthfulness rather than its popularity with the Kool-Aid drinkers who actually believe what they see on the FAUX "News" Channel. Just as they had rather report on the trials and tribulations of troubled entertainer,... more

"No one on this Earth is going to block a shot on the O'Reilly Factor." - Bill O'Reilly
Bill O'Loofah again proves why he can be the only guardian of the "No Spin Zone".
Excuse me but I need to look for my air sickness bag.
It is almost too incredible to believe that The FAUX "News" Channel would put some of the stuff in this film on the air but here they are, fully exposed, in this short clip showing their anchors sniping and lying about Obama. FAUX is undeniably the most dishonest.network in broadcast television. For them to be able to use the slogan "Fair and Balanced" is one of the most egregious court decisions in civil law. Additionally, for them to add the slogan "We report, You decide" makes me want to hurl my dinner. It should be "We make up lies, You see if you can catch us before we edit the transcript."
While I am an Edwards supporter at this point, I congratulate Obama on continuing to keep FAUX from ambushing him. Perhaps if O'Loofah had just warmed him up with a little phone foreplay....."No one on this Earth is going to block a shot on the O'Reilly Factor."... more
O'Reilly got in a confrontation with an Obama staffer while the Fox News host was trying to get Obama's attention at a campaign event. I'm sure it was just a little push that is being blown out of proportion... but check out his explanation. Pure douchery.

"That was FOX's classy response to the half a million viewers who saw our FOX Attacks: Decency video. http://foxattacks.com/decency?utm_source=rgemail
"Looks like we got to FOX this time, and it wasn't a debate about policy in Iran that did it, or a video displaying their racism, or even our coverage of their abject hypocrisy on environmental issues.
"No, what got the attack dogs at FOX hungry and looking for flesh was none other than an exposé of their smut peddling! It makes sense in a way, because advertisers tend not to like their products being promoted between segments of soft porn. And a large part of their conservative base hates this as well, which might be why one Christian organization compared the way women were dressed on FOX to the manner in which "hookers" are attired.
"So what did we do?
"With the News Hounds help, we found enough FOX lasciviousness for a whole porn site!!
"Really, we did. And it wasn't that hard to do. In fact, if you thought FOX Attacks: Decency was a glimpse into the lustful thoughts of your favorite FOX anchor, you ain't seen nothing yet.

"Satire and parody aside, we think this is extremely objectionable, misogynistic content. We still don't understand how FOX is allowed to call this "news." So let's make this campaign count, and hit FOX where it hurts -- their Fair and Balance Sheet.
"Many of you have been helping to create a massive database of local FOX advertisers. Now it's time to start calling them. Pick one or two to call and ask them to please not advertise on a channel that shows Girls Gone Wild during prime time, and exploits women 24/7. Let them know in very personal terms why this matters to you.
"Click for a list of FOX advertisers near you: http://foxattacks.com/attacker/?utm_source=rgemail
"And please let us know how it goes! When you click on the 'call' or 'email' advertiser link, you'll get an example script, and a form where you can describe what happened. Fill it out so we can all share information on how advertisers are reacting to the campaign. Plus, others will be inspired to act and we can keep the pressure on these merchants of immorality. Be creative make it personal and express how you feel.

On the November 7 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, reporting on the recent crowning of two girls as "Cutest Couple" during an annual senior yearbook poll at Waukegan High School in Illinois, host Bill O'Reilly said to his guest, Dr. Laura Berman, assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and obstetrics/gynecology at Northwestern University, "[T]he kids voted this couple the cutest couple to tweak the adults, Doctor, to cause trouble, to make an issue of the yearbook."On the November 7 edition of Fox News' The O'Reilly Factor, reporting on the... more

Perhaps freedom of speech isnt such a good thing
Blow hard Bill OReilly used his Fox News show to again rail against the sexually deviant queers. Discussing cutest lesbian couple Lupe Silva and Brandy Johnson, OReilly not only claims students voted for the girls to tweak the adults, but also says its inappropriate to discuss sexuality in a minor setting. We can still talk about genocide and the atomic bomb, though.
Dr. Laura Berman of Northwestern University and The Chicago Sun-Times stands her ground, telling Bill-O that gay kids need educational support. Media Matters has the entire transcript, but heres a taste:
Berman: Yes, there is experimentation, absolutely, but its also very true that many teens are becoming very clear that they are seriously attracted to the same sex, not the opposite sex. And they have nowhere to turn.
OReilly: Well, I think
BERMAN: They have no support systems.
OReilly: Look, Ive been very consistent on this since my first book was written. I think private behavior belongs in private settings.
OReilly: I dont think it belongs in the high school yearbook.
Berman: But youd be OK with the cutest couple, heterosexual couple, though?
OReilly: I would be, because that is the norm of society.
We take it Bill OReilly doesnt have much of an imagination, compassion or a soul. This bastard of a man felt the need to shit on these two girls shining moment? What a disgraceful example of a human being.Queerty reports [via Media Matters] Perhaps freedom of speech isnt such a good... more
