The Christmas shopping season doesn't officially kick off for another 6 weeks, but retailers and some consumers are already thinking about their strategies for getting through the season in an economy that's still a bit shaky.

Sometimes people decide to call things FAILs, when they aren’t really that FAIL. I try to find the glimmer of goodness in everything, so this is another edition of some FAILs that I don’t think are really FAILs.
A dog shit near your gifts. I guess that's a FAIL, but at least you got gifts. Plus your mom told me that one of those presents is a gift certificate to Stanley Steemer.
He could have gotten drunk in the banquet hall, and made a fool of himself and his fellow employees. This jacket is the cruiseline's equivalent of a dunce cap.
This translates as "Snacks Mister Urine." You called this a FAIL, because you say you don't want to walk twenty meters to find snacks. But it's really not that far dude, remember twenty meters is only sixty feet. If you took the time to remember the metric system, we wouldn't keep having this same problem.
Are you so stupid that you actually tried to plant these Cheerios, and expected that donuts would grow? Idiot! You can only grow more Cheerios from those seeds.
Oh you're disappointed that they didn't pluralize MAN. Clearly the bathroom at this Thai train station can hold only one man, and several women.
Fake watches don't keep time, they are made of plastic and silly putty. Genuine fake watches look like they're made by Gucci, but actually keep time. So who you calling a FAIL now?
How is preventing violence a FAIL? Save your quarters for ten-for-one Tuesdays.
The thought process for this FAIL was: "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA A DOG IN A PLACE WHERE IT SHOULDNT BE. THIS IS SO FUNNY TO ME." But this isn't funny to any of us. Sorry bro this isn't a FAIL. But if it makes you feel any better your dog is sort of cute.
Catch up on your FAILs that aren’t FAILS.

You only have one hyperbolic minute left before Christmas Eve, and you haven't bought any of the gifts for the people on your list. What on earth are you supposed to do? Consult the internet...
I found these perfect gifts with a few clicks of the keyboard.
Oh snap, you only have eight hours left to get these Garfield and Odie plush dolls. Garfield is holding a clover that says "Let's get Irish." This would be a perfect gift for your wife, if she is perennially dissatisfied with previous gift selections.
You only have a few minutes to bid on this Road Kill calendar. This would be the perfect gift for that adolescent in your life who spends his time torturing small mammals. If he's not on your Christmas list now, you could be on his list later.
If you're really struggling you can buy your mom this shirt that reads "Oral Sex is always a great last minute gift." Hopefully she'll think that muscular Santa Claus is cute.
"Yo baby, I just picked you up a vintage Victoria's Secret catalog from 2001!"
For that gear-head on your list, why not pick up a DeWalt compressor. I don't know what it does, but if he's really that into hardware, he probably will.
New York Daily News wants you to buy a print of this mother and daughter shopping in Manhattan. This would be the perfect gift for someone who knows them. It also might be good for Scooby Doo fans, who prefer his left side.
I'm probably going to just give my loved ones gag gifts. What kind of gifts will you buy for your relatives? You only have one hyperbolic minute left before Christmas Eve, and you haven't... more

Handel’s Messiah Symphony is performed here by Belgium’s Chamber Choir of Namur, which was founded in 1987. Right from the beginning of its career, the orchestra has performed the major works in the choral repertoire of Georg Frideric Handel, J.S. Bach and Mozart, as well as contemporary works. The ensemble has appeared at a number of well-known music festivals, among them the Abbey of Escaldieu (Pyrénées), the Versailles Festival of Baroque Music, the Festival d’été in Paris, the Arles Festival of Sacred Music and the Ars Musica Festival in Brussels.
This piece presents a number of color photographs, as well as a wonderful classical music video of the performance.

“Alma” is an award winning 5-minute short animation that’s a delightful, but very creepy little film. In this wintry Christmas-like film, little Alma skips her merry way through the snow-covered streets of a small, quaint village. Attracted to a strange life-like doll in an antique doll shop window, Anna finds herself drawn into the shop like a moth to a flame. Now, I won’t tell you what actually happens inside of that dark and scary store, but let’s just say that things don’t work out too well for the shop’s cute little dolls!
Includes a number of colorful illustrations from the film, as well as the delightfully twisted animated short, “Alma.”

It's hard to think of anything wackier than honoring the birth of Jesus -- a man who preached peace, love and charity -- by maxing out your credit cards, gorging on turkey, fighting with in-laws and drinking yourself into a stupor. But that's largely what we Americans do.

Ah, literal music videos. Without them we'd have no idea what's going on during inane songs like "Last Christmas." At first glance, it just seems like George Michael and his forgettable Wham! partner are just frolicking around in the snow for no reason. But after lyrics like, "You are down there, now you smell my fart and I drop a boa on your shoulder, we're both sad," it all makes sense.

The holiday brings out performing arts staples: Handel's Messiah, The Nutcracker, and Langston Hughes' Black Nativity. For years, theaters have transformed Hughes' original script — adding songs and changing settings. San Francisco's Lorraine Hansberry Theatre features shepherds singing Michael Jackson tunes, and an act set in a contemporary urban African-American church

This is an incredible photograph, the look on this guy's face says it all. His expression reminds me of The Pogues' song “Fairytale of New York,” it's so full of mixed up emotions about the Christmas season. On the hand the man looks a bit happy, but on the other hand he looks much more sad. It reminds me of the Comedia Dell'Arte masks. This picture's a brilliant commentary on the ambivalence of the holidays.
This piece presents a number of additional photographs, as well as the wonderful music video by The Pogues and Kirsty McColl, “Fairytale of New York.”
